Grail Finding Related Skill / Eagle Eye Adjustments

just random ideas... this is all assuming the grail idea from homm3 stays the same.

perhaps it would be interesting to have a skill that either lets heroes dig more frequently based on basic, adv, exp, or a skill that allows a certain hero to see more from obelisks or something (based on basic, adv, exp).

perhaps this could be combined to the scouting skill?

also for eagle eye.. increase % of learning spells and make it possible to learn spell of any level. major bonus: heroes can learn spells like TOWN PORTAL and FLY, DD, ETC. possibly make it so you have to be close enough to hero casting the adventure spell to have a chance of learning it (you can be further away based on basic, adv, exp), or make it so you have to see them on the map when they cast the spell. i dont know but you get the idea.

not sure if these ideas have been mentioned already; i hope it is fresh new ideas heh. i'd like to see what you all think of this. peace,--ave

That first idea you had about more digging and more obelisk information was good. But it would have to be possible to turn of the obelisk thing in the map editor because of missions where you have to find all obelisks and dig up a treasure (or it could be possible to remove that skill from that map/campaign)

Some more thoughts

The Eagle Eye skill from a Heroes 3 & 4 perspective:

A. Additionally, the army gets +__% resistance to Blind spells.

B. Expert allows army to see all enemy landmines and quicksand in combat.

C. While on mountainous terrain, Heroes get a scouting bonus.

Good Idea!
I always thought that Eagle Eye skill was a waste of time and I always try to avoid it.
Who knows? Maybe Eagle Eye will be the most wanted skill in H5

Eagle Eye: most desired skill...

Well, if they dump Logistics, Armorer, Diplomacy, Balistics, the magic schools, etc, then especially yeah.

Eagle Eye & Scouting are majorly 1-dimensional; Logistics, Navigation, and Pathfinding shine a lot more than those because they play a more active role with the heroes throughout the game. I've heard several other skills like Learning and Intelligence have gotten bad press as well, at times.

In another thread, we were discussing the weak abilities of the Witch compared to just about any other hero class. My suggestion is that they come up with ways of boosting all the classes to a decent level. It doesn't need to be quite apparent at first:
-Witches specialize in the Mass Curse spell
-Clerics specialize in the Prayer/Mass Prayer spell
-Clerics have +1 boost to skills vs unholy Necropolis
-Alchemist's gargoyles & golems get joint combat bonus
(tweaks like that)

The designers had better be on their mark this time. For both our sakes, I hope they are fanatically veteran players of Heroes 3!

Yeah, it would be really neat to have hero classes that specialize (like Witch with Curse), or to have different monster types work together. That's something I hope to see in H5.
