Oh fer cryin' out loud...  Ever since there was the ability to distribute music in a widespread fashion, the most popular music has been trite, predictable and vacuous.  This isn't a new phenomenon.  Look at the Beatles or the Beach Boys or all of the 80s bubble gum pop.  I wish they all could be California Girls and that she loves me, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah 'cause girls just wanna have fun.  For every Lou Reed, there's 10 Brian Williams, get used to it.  That's why we all have our own music collections and playlists, so that we can listen to what we want when we want, and whoever likes Ashlee Simpson can listen to her (or watch her lipsync or whatever) whenever they want.

Thats exactly what she did at the Orange Bowl.
Anyway, its just kind of a spoofy complaint about
empty music done by people devoid of talent, and I'm sure that kind of music will go on what ever anybody does.

I have to take exception to you including the Beatles in
this, though. They started off as a pop group
and ended as serious musicians. In other words,
they grew, something Ashlee likely wont.

Anyway, I wont a(bort) this thread..

At least the Fab Four could sing...

It's been said that the Beatles stopped performing live after all the loud cheering from girl fans made it hard for them to sing in key. You can probably bet that today's pop artists wouldn't do the same; it's just sorta uncharacteristic of them. I'd recommend a lot of vocal training for a vast majority of them.
