Well, I would definitely say "flail", but I would focus more on the big...strong like metal thingie that hangs way down.
My wife doesn't call me "The Wooden shield", but she does sometimes refer to me as "Old Faithful"!

what's interesting about a flail, is that while you can lift it momentarily, it will immediately fall down again straight away. they just don't stay up.
