Town alignment (H3)
Is it in any way possible possible to set a neutral town paramater describing it's alignment to 'not the sam as'? I'm trying to solve problem that arises when two players start with i.e. two areas on a closed map and have one extra castle to conquer; if one gets the town of the same alignment as his starting town he is in a huge advantage (imagine tower+tower, and you get rampart+inferno when a big battle is expected later in the game...). If it is not possible to do in the editor, perhaps someone knows is it possible to edit the map file directly in some way? Thank you.

When checking the town proprieties on a neutral castle, on the general page(1st page) to the bottom of the page you'll have written "Allignament".Here u can choose from 9 variants. The first is "same as owner or random" and it's usually default. So you might encounter the event when that castle will be from the same allignament as the starting town.
The next 8 variants are:"same as player 1...8"
I would suggest matching the second town from player's 1 area with the main town of player 2 for exemple. With this method, as long as both players don't choose to play with the same castle, there won't be any double build. And if they do play with the same castle, then they will both be able to doublebuild.Prety neat, huh?
hope this helps a bit

It is neat, yes , but I've already grown tired of using it all the time . That is how I changed many maps for my hotseat games, Deceptions for instance, but it's KILLING ME that there is no NOT THE SAME AS function in the editor, because I would still like to have some luck involved, I just don't want it to be an immediate deciding factor. I guess it's possible in some way (hex editor?) to do this but I don't know how. I know it's a very hard question, so I appreciate any help.

I dont think it is really possible only one thing can prevent u is a rule no double build so when u play against someone dont forget to mention that rule

Also impractical, if both i.e. castle, and one gets another castle and the other tower what now?? I thought that maybe some of you guys perhaps know the structure of map files so that you could help me. Is it possible perhaps to get to the code of the file so that you can enter one simple IF condition? I know it's VERY difficult...

Hehe probably it is possible but you wont have any guaranties that it will work and u can even destroy ur map that way so man better just use rule no double build

Well I'm willing to take my chances, besides I can easily backup the map anyway. I would really like to try.
