re: Svarog

of course you generally want good morale. yet in some cases, even in serious games, the circumstances are such that you get benefit even if you compromise morale (e.g. get a powerful undead stack in your army).

i didn't quite expect to shift the discussion in this thread to discipline only when i mentioned it, but as it seems to have happened, some more thoughts:
higher level troops might often be more sensitive to negative discipline, you might need a higher level hero to control them.

the way i originally thougt the morale stat could be, has become bit more clear, i guess it could be:

stackMorale = moraleStat + moraleModifiers * moraleStat

where moraleModifiers are something like the traditional -2 when having undead in the army.
this would mean that the higher the base morale the more severe the effect of morale modifiers would be.
i think it could be that moraleStat increases with creature level in a simple way, maybe there should be exceptions? maybe different towns could have different moraleStat scales?

if discipline suppressed both positive and negative morale effects, it may be possible to think of e.g. different race armies being controlled preferrably by morale or preferrably by discipline. e.g. i would expect elves to be better controlled by morale and demons better controlled by discipline.
