A new upgrade pathway

Hello Again,
I have an idea to create a new upgrade option to HOMM V:
It would be something similar to the sum of H3 and H4 upgrades.
It goas like this:

-Each creature has two possible upgrades:
 -One Magic
 -One Might

When you choose one of them, the other option is disabled (for that creature only).
To make it easier to understand the concept I'll give two examples:

-Red Dragon  
-> Magic = Fairy Dragon
-> Might = Black Dragon

-Low level creatures
-> Magic = Some low level spell (stone skin?)
-> Might = More attack points or Magic resistance

It is only an idea, what do you guys think?

OK, a new idea, but how do you picture the might upgrade of a magi or the magic upgrade of a behemoth?

nice idea, but u should have explained a bit more, i found it was too brief. but a great basis idea

i think that it would be better to say not that there is a might and a magic pathway but a more might and a more magic pathway

for example: might pathway for: magi> battle mage, big increase in melee stats

i like the idea but it would be a big problem in online games. u would have to get too many requirements before u can get strong creatures. this means no quick games which is a problem for ppl like me

but from a person that likes just single player games, i like the idea

Ok, I know my idea was not clear enough... Let me try to explain it better.
When you upgrade your creature you receive a "bonus". It could be a second shot, more stats, or something that makes your creature better than before (otherwise you would not spend money on it).
It would be nice if you could select this bonus rather than  have no choice.
Take a magi for instance. Lest's say you have two options:
-Magic: increase the damage from the spells (with probally some downside, less speed pehaps?)
-Might: increase the stats with a hand-to-hand bonus (shield spell?).

This way you can choose to have faster and tougher magis (making less damage through spells) or slower magis with more firepower. You will have more possibilities to create your strategy.

Hmm heres a partial list using H3 creatures..

Pikeman - Might: Halbeirder
         Magic: Hoplite (5% chance to cast Sheild at beginning of each round)

Archer - Might: Marksman
        Magic: Marksman/w Magic Arrow (Unlimited ammo)

Griffin - Might: Royal Griffin
         Magic: Griffin King (Increases Griffen Morale by 1)

Swordsman - Might: Crusader
           Paladin: Paladin (Provides bonus for Angels/Archangels)

Monk - Might: War Zealot (Increased hitpoints, lower attack)
      Magic: Zealot

Cavalier - Might: Champion
          Magic: Champion w/Enchanted Horse (Lower HP, increased joust bonus)

Angel - Might: Warangel - Increased attack, no ressurection
       Magic: Archangel
