Worldwide distribution

Right now, we can only sell it in 6 countries (US, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, UK, and Australia) but we should have clearence by the end of this week to sell worldwide. We will keep you posted on that one. As far as shipping costs, from our website you will pay 12 percent shipping regardless of where you are from, but if you buy from a different retailer, it could vary dramatically.

What is the incentive to buy this game?  I mean I am a Magic player and go to Magic tournaments at least ounce a week.  I just finished a 2-Headed giant tournament earlier today.  Anyway I was asking around at the 3 Hobby/Collectible stores that I goto and play at if they were going to be carrying the Heroes 4 CCG and he didn't even know what the hell I was talking about.  No offenst but one of the main reasons I like to play Magic is that there are people to play it with!

I mean I am from Toronto and if I have to pay like close to $40 CAN for this game I want to play it with someone, and right now I don't know anyone who has heard of this game from anyone but me.  Sheesh it seems that if I even buy it I will only be able to collect them and not play them.

Also a question for you:  Does playing the Heroes 4 Card game take as long for a match as the computer game?

Just like any other CCG game, the hope is that everyone will think it is fun to play and collect. I played it at Origins and I believe that it is both.

I am not sure how old you are, but there was a point in time that no one had heard of Magic either. The way stores and other players will find out about it is through advertising and word of mouth. DGA has done a good pre-release job for a company their size. They showed up at Origins and will be at Gen-Con previewing. This is not a mass-market game like Magic just yet. It is still not even released. It will take some time for people to find about it. This forum and the conventions are the first steps.

Not sure how long your computer matches take, but it takes about 3-4 hours for a 4-player game.  It takes a little while to build up a force that you feel is sufficient to storm your opponents castles. 1 or 2 players tend to get eliminated earlier in the game and then the final two have a face off somewhere that pretty much seals one or the others fate.

Hopefully you'll get a chance to try it out and find other players in Toronto. I've already lined up three players in the Chicago area and plan to do some store demos once product is available. That's the only way you can really see if you like a game, is to play it.

A question, if this is a CCG and a Board Game, is it only worth thinking about on the tabletop? Or is there some aspects which can be done on the move, like trading? Is trading a major part of it?

What can one do on the go?

Just like any other CCG, half of the game is deckbuilding. While the decks included in a starter set will make for a compelling matchup, a good custom deck will mow them down with little effort. Therefore, trading and deck design, which can be done in a car, in the lunchroom, or between classes at school is a huge part of the successful player's efforts.

The deckbuilding will be the best part.  The possibilities will be endless, especially with a set of almost 700 cards.  I am anxiously awaiting this release.  I have played the computer game since the beginning and love the turn based style of play, This game is perfect for a CCG and hope this will be a big hit!!

perhaps you should include special collectors edition cards, just to randomly throw them in random packs of cards....The only cards i used to collect was pokemon ( yes..pokemon ) and perhaps you can introduce something like holograms, like shiny versions of regular cards, just for collecting basically.

I think this is something DGA will avoid (and certainly something that is not possible now since the product is already made).

But if a collector wants to chase something in this game it will probably be the goal of getting one of every hero, which is unnecessary for gameplay, but might be fun for collectors.

That is because there are no different abilities across the same class of hero. So any "Necromancer" you pull will have the same starting stats. It will be up to you what skills he/she will gain in the game.

So I have no desire (or need) to continue buying boosters just to get one of every hero. 2 or 3 of each type will be more than enough. But a collector may get some continued joy out of trading and/or purchasing to get these and there may be some plans to include these types of cards as some sort of future prize support, but the details are still being worked out.

Really? That's a major plus in my opinion. I was thinking that despite the claim that there are no common/uncommon/rares for this game, that in fact there were: Characters being rares, monsters being common and spells/items being uncommon. If the characters are all the same based on character class, that's pretty cool. I guess that would leave spells/items as the cards that would be a high priority to get.

Yes its a plus in my book too.

The "want to get more of" cards or "want to trade for" cards from a player's standpoint will probably be the following.

1. Artifacts like Helm of Command, Ring of Speed and Robe of the Guardian.

2. Cool locations like Pandora's Box and Mage's Chest.

3. Level 3 and Level 4 units that you have several of one type but only one or none of the other. Example, I have 5 Angels and only 1 Champion.

4. Certain units that are not producable in towns and thus not given in as heavy a number as your other units of the same level, examples might be Peasants or Earth Elementals.

I think spells will be pretty easy for the big collector. The extra packs give you several. I don't have them all but I have enough dupes for trade that I think it will get easy eventually.

But you are correct, its the overall size of the set and the fact that there are unique things like spells, artifacts and locations that will create a rarity by default.

At some point we will make special cards printed on a linnen textured stock (like the premium cards from Battlecards) and there will be expansions to the game like Advanced Hero Classes, More Artifacts, Campaign Sets, ect. You will not run out of cool things to collect, once you have your decks built...but it will take months to perfect your decks anyway, so lets not wish our lives away here!

This game will be easily expandable, meaning expansions will be awesome.

Imagine the possibilities!!!  This game has endless possibilities.
