sylvan factions looks just like I imagine... this nature town for me is the best looking  ...
academy have some egypcian flavor... and the titans looks totally diferent... I guess that is ok... if we have same old units... why not change the look a little
I think I must wait until the 3d version of this artworks

Rakshassa looks nice, though it doesn't really looks like the mythological Rakshassa should and it's basicly a demon... but, oh well, that's Heroes V, it shouldn't have anything to do with reallity, right? I'd say the Academy flavor is more like Indian. I haven't seen the Titan, but I can't imagine him fitting the other creatures in Academy.
Aaaaaaargh, I just saw the War Dancer... what a snow! Give the [colro=pink]man[/color] a pair of pants, damn it!

Academy:
Master Gremlin: 2/10
Poor looking creature... that pimp fur coat has to go.
Obsidian Gargoyle: 1/10
wth...Looks like a tombstone rather than a gargoyle. How does that thing even move?
Golem: 7/10
Well, its different to say the least. But i like the twin swords and the blue colour scheme.
Mage: 2/10
Looks way to feeble to be called a mage. Although it has stayed away from the stereotype mage design (which is a good thing), i think the folks at Nival went abit too far.
Master Genie: 8/10
Nice and chunky, and very different from what we had before. I like it alot.
Rakshassa: 8/10
Does a good job being the only new creature in this town. The tatoos are a plus and the four arms are no doubt inspired by nagas.
Titan: 3/10
I hate the black colour scheme and the Vegeta hairstyle. The lack of armour and those stupid looking paintbrush bracers are disturbing. Liked the lightning though
Sylvan:
Spirit: 9/10
Excellent design; captures the 'feminine' beauty of these creatures without ending up sleazy like the blood sister/shadow witch. The floral costume (or whats left of it  ) is great.
War Dancer: 7/10
Can't tell if he is bare chested with tatoos, or wearing tights... Overall i guess he is ok, like the glowing swords.
High Elf: 8/10
What you get when you cross a stereotype elf with a hippie. Nice design nonetheless.
Battle Unicorn: 8/10
Has a 'wilder' feel to it, with the tatoos and longer mane. Glad to see it drop the stupid rainbow colour schem,e of homm4 lol.
Dendroid Soldier: 8/10
Much more exotic than its homm3 counterpart, and as someone said before, it looks like a celery stick. Not that its a bad thing .
High Druid: 9.5/10
Most inspiring of the Sylvan creatures, as it shows prowess in both might and magic. That deer pelt certainly compliments the druid, although i have a feeling it is inspired by the Diablo 2 druid.
Gold Dragon: 8/10
Nothing special or revolutionary, but thats the way i've always liked my dragons

I'd say the flavor is simply oriental...

Here's what I think (don't be afraid ):
I like the nature town, especially the Sprites! I hate however the unicorns, that's again anime at the highest peak of imbecility. Dendroids are a little peculiar, they look like celery I guess, but well... Druid is also nice.
Academy has some good creatures in, too. The mage is just like one of the 3. Balthasar, maybe? He's OK. The gremlin is stupid. Should give the coat to the bloody sister. Or the w(b)itch. I was expecting the golem to be more... naked, actually.
But both factions are consistent, and have unity. The game just stopped sucking so hard. (like a vacuum cleaner ) If they'd get rid of the chicks it could still be nice to play.

WOW!! I didn't spect that vlad!! I though you will say this are the worst towns so far , but for your kind words I guess you like this ones at least a little bit ... nice

I REALY hope that these are changed before the release, or I may go insade. Why does every one at Nival think there should be more clothing where there has always been less, and less clothing where there should be more? and Still no werewolves?!! GRR! i think i will stick to necropolis and haven if they don't give the spirit or sprite or whatever more clothing! GRR!

The titan looks cool. the gargoyle is stupid and should be shot. the green dragons are not to horibble, and the high druid is !!!! !!!! War dancer: what's with the light saber? Golem and rashaka: PLEASE keep like that, only 3D. High elf: NIFTY! Battle Unicorn: um, okay, what's with the feathers? Genie could be worse. Mage: Get a serious make over, and a life.

They overdid it a bizt woth those tatoos on the Slyvan units.. Even hte unicorn and DENEROID have some markings on them LOL!
No phoenix...
Academy suckz big time.. master genie has a massive hands an no head to speak off, and practily all units (except for the rakshasa and maby hte titan) look utterly terrible...

Still, there is two whole towns full of elves yet they leave out orcs, trolls, ogres, cyclopi, basically the whole Stronghold town, dwarves, pegasi, phoenixes (which isn't that bad I dont think), nagas, manticores, medusas, werewolves (which I don't care too much for either), cerberus, beholder (one of the original Might and Magic creatures), harpies etc.
They have mostly humanoids (elves) as their creatures, like the War Dancer, the Witch, the Scout, the Blood Sister, Spirit, High Druid when they could have had so many of those mythological creatures that we loved so much in the game.
EDIT: all things aside...
^^ THAT is cool.
they look kinda like the dwarves from Guild Wars, with all their enslaved beasts..

I could find it understandable that you put down cerberus down as one of the creatures "left out" when indeed they look like a pile of rotting burning flesh on the battlefield. What I can't understand though is that you turned your back on the great DREAD KNIGHT!

Cerberus is in Inferno, but doesn't look like a dog anymore.
As for "two towns full of Elves", I am a Dark Elf fan and must disagree here. It's like saying Haven and Necropolis are two towns full of Humans, while the difference is big.

I thought Gnolls were cool in Warcraft 3 only.
As for the rest, I'm sure we'll get them as neutrals or in the first expansion.

Yes the gnolls did look pretty awesome in WarCraft III, but let's not stray too far from the subject of Heroes, let alone "Gnolls of Death"!
On a minor note, my opinion about the pegasi is that I never liked them. Sure they had magic damper, but they always seemed like a great target for those blood thirsty vampire lords! Dendroids, I'm glad they're back and the best thing is that they look like ents from Lord of the Rings. I also agree with the fact that Titans tend to look like energy elementals, why couldn't they just use something like a Greek God instead of a titan? I'm glad to see my master gremlins back but what happened to their blue craftsman attire! How am I going to get them to make all those toys for Christmas Eve when this game comes out?!

And the fortress people, well I read somewhere that they were to be included in an expansion as a new Faction.

btw, did anyone noticed that either golden dragons or titans wont be 7lvl creature? Most likely dragons, since they switched them with high druids(wtf), or that just some mistake?
