I implore you all to watch the old b/w film Nosferatu, to see a great non-romatic/seductive vampire design that inspired the homm3 design. I do believe that the dracula design has been overused in various mediums, whether games or films, and its time to follow a new direction (or to continue the path that the homm3 vampire took).

I don't think the Nosferato nor the "Dracula bond" are new, both were present in b/w movies. The new vampires look like normal people (watch blade). OR if taking the characters from games, there u meet the "Medievel Vampire" who wears leather armor, has telekenetic powers and weilds a heavy long sword (The one in H5 or the game "Vampire the masqurade" - I think the spelling is wrong lol), Also there is the unique aproach in Blood omen, the "demonic vampires" like Raziel, Kain and Duriel (the huge bat like vampire in the pit scene).

I think its a good look, maybe swap out some of the red for some black, he just doesn't look dark enough to me.

The hair is GREAT 9/10 vampires in vampire movies = long hair.  Except the not so good new ones like blade 1,2,3

The sword is GOOD! You guys are just fixed on a stereotypical version of a vampire with the sharpened nails ready to slash everything away, sure that's fine.  But in a combat situation like say, a heroes game? Sword is a must! It could be a little smaller to emphasize the swiftness of vampires.  But I still like it.  Change isn't always easy we have to accept it with open arms!

I like how there's German words in Gothic types on the sword and cloak of the Vampire.

And yes, change is necessary. Without change, things become stale, and boring.

Now all you have to do is just change his red and purple attire to a grey/orange one like the Heroes III!  That way you get some of that Heroes III goodness in that vampire, or would it be badness?

Question: What do you call a breed of a Heroes III Vampire and a Heroes V Vampire?!

THIS!

A VAWAMPIRE IV

[edit] To be honest though Vlaad's picture would totally kill my "vawampire".  Come to think of it anything can kill this piece of crap...

Short guy

I don't know if it's just me, but the vampire does look a little short to me...
Perhaps, the long sword combined with the short cloak give this idea.
Decreasing the sword (or thin it down) while increasing the cloak should give a more respect look to the vampire.
I also think that the drawing looks way better than the "final" 3D version...
I will hope for some adjusts until the release version.
With best regards,

Heroes V versions wins again.

The Heroes II version is cartoonish and outdated (I loved Heroes II but it's time to face the truth)

The Heroes III version is a Nosferatu which belongs to a particular vampire family and should really be called Nosferatu and not "Vampire" to make it easy to distinguish between vampire types.

HIV sucks ALL the way! (It ALWAYS does!)

The Heroes V version is good. Not ultracool but the best there is. I was leaning towards the Heroes III version a little but the details of the Heroes V version swayed me.

In that case, the vampires of homm2,4 and 5 should be called Dracula and not "Vampire" to make it easy to distinguish between vampire types... I mean as far as popular culture goes, theres only 2 types to begin with: Nosferatu and Dracula.

H3 vampire lord is my choice.

Although, the sword for H5 being used for combat makes some sense.  But then how does it drain life from opponent stacks?

H4 is kinda goofy what with the "James Bond" tux, but they were fairly powerful, and since they couldn't be upgraded that took a little something away from them.  But, I usually liked them over the venom spawn.

No, I didn't mean how does the sword drain life, I meant how does the vampire drain life if they are holding a sword.

I imagine that they cut of the victims head then drinks sparkling blood.
Or maybe he cuts the victims legs so that it won't run and the he sucks its blood!!!
Or....he sticks his sword in the victims stomach and thendrinks his blood!!
Or maybe he puts the sword down and then drimks the victims blood!
Tough choice ..........

Wow, that seems possible.  Sounds almost like they have the Soul Stealer from H4, or some other similar sword.

The thing that makes a Vampire,is the BLA! the say while sucking a poor victim's blood.although that the H2 wamp wasn't the best in animation,he's the only one that provides this so far. H2 gets my votee. The H3 is pretty cool with those claws, the H5,no matter the Soul Stealer,
can't win.He has the aspect of a samurai, and although he has that white skin, the blade makes him more human.Sure, the H4 one would be great as Nosferat, but that blue energy he spreads is supposed to be life force?
Then why is HE making it? i want to make it clear that H2
is my answer not only because of the BLA,but also because H2 was the first HOMM that i ever played.

homm2 vampire has a classic count dracula look. that got my vote.
homm4 vampire: Bond, James Bond, nice to meet you.
homm5 vampire in the armor with a sword is just wrong. they don't kill you with your sword (well, unless it is Blade), they kill you by sucking your blood with their teeth. Btw, is he an undead samurai?

The blue energy is the life force of the opposing stack being sucked out of them; if you listen closely(or have the volume up really high), you can hear a sound like a vacuum cleaner as the Vampire sucks the life force out.
