All look fine to me, but I'd choose the original. It's classic.

I didn't like the armor in H3, although it made sense. The H4 rendition was cool too (especially their ability)...

The latest addition of bow and arrows is interesting (can't wait to see how balanced it is in the actual game), but the helmet and the boots are just... silly.

I'll vote H4 on this one. The model is really well done. However I prefer the scimitar and shield in H2.

With its axe (or worst, its bow) and its boot, the H5 skeleton doesn't look like a raised creature to me (excepted if lumberjack was one of the creatures).

The H3 one looks like the necromancer brushes them every morning and give them nice armors... and it has boots!

I like the design of the H3 skeleton and the armor of H4.

What do you guys think about the upgraded skellies being able to shoot? I'm very curious too about how this will effect balance. Based on the effect that the capability of Necro town to produce massive numbers of skellies in H3 had on online gaming, I wonder if H5 will just make it worse. The H5 skeleton archers are supposed to be very poor accuracy but still if you have 1000 of them it adds up.

Voted H5 footman.

I like the idea of getting a bow and some kind of helmet to have an archer instead of a footman, but why the hell didnīt they get a second shoe?....

I voted H2, since H2 is my favourite game, and since generally speaking, H2 has the most aestethetically pleasing graphics in the series. Not to mention that the scimitar and round shield's cool, and the noise they make when walking is awsome.

Btw, I just noticed a nifty detail about the Skeleton Archers: Their "secondary weapon" is the pike from a broken spear.

H4 is the best. H2 is very nice in a different way: It reminds me of old wall & windows paintings in churches.

But I can't believe anyone voted for the H5 archer. Boot, Helmet, cute grin, come on! :/

Also note how both H5 skeletons act (ok, stand) like a well trained athlete in full tension - surely not the posture of a skeleton without any sinews and muscles?!?

all the skellys look fine except h5 ones, there are too much armor on them. (kinda hard to imagine a skeleton having enough dexterity to put on bodyarmor)

HOMMII one. No contest.

As people have mentioned, scimitar, round shield, walking noises, it's not hard to see why I fell in love with this game.

This is one of the creatures that seems to be getting increasingly worse, looks-wise.

Again, don't know what is up with the HOMMV one, but I don't like it.

The issue concerning all homm5 necro units is that theres way too much of the colour green, i mean afterall one would associate death with the colour black, but why toxic green? This ain't a town of radioactive mutants for god's sake.

The satisfying clatter noise of a crumbling H2 Skeleton wins this one. I have to admit, though, the concept art for the H5 version looks good with the armor on.

Is that green some kind of reflexion or is it part of the creature costume?
If it is the latter, I would agree with you...

The green around the units is the "necromantic essence" whish is used to assmeble, control and get creatures to undead state. Vampires, Liches and Wights with Spectral dragons does not have them, since they are sentient beings. While skeletons, zombies, ghosts and bone dragons are either summoned or raised corpses or bones.
Liches have green flames from their books when casting spells.

It also looks a little too bony to me, giving a clumsy look to it...
