A quiet place to talk...

In the remote depths of HC’s community, lies a dark path leading down to a secluded worn down stone building, which lies partially buried within the earth.  However a single crooked tower stands tall and you’d swear you saw a shadow in the window.  Only a single lamp lights the doorway, and you swear you’ve never seen this building before.

Far from prying eyes, away from the noise taverns, the libraries or any social environment, the structure lies, quietly, waiting.  A lonely sign hangs above the door and it reads “Open, always.”

You venture in…

On a dusty wall engraved in stone reads the following:
“Where does a hero go to get away from the praise, the looks of hope, and the expectations?
Where do they go when they can’t hide behind the mask of courage or strength?  Where do they go when they can’t close their eyes at night due to the horrors they’ve seen in battle?  What do they do when they can’t show weakness but they can’t go on?
They come here.”

You scan the room only to see a spiral iron staircase that leads to the tower…
At the top of the stairs you reach a small room, furnished only with 2 large chairs, lit by only a single candle.  A familiar face occupies one of the chairs…  “Jester?”  Slips from your lips…   “Sit down, and tell me what’s on your mind…”

Have you ever had to choose between two completely different people, when you love both of them, but you know you can only have one??

I can't say that I have...
Closest I've ever been to that is knowing that I SHOULD be with someone, but that person's feelings have changed..  It's rough going when you can't convince someone you care about that you know a second chance would work out!

Do you want to go into detail a bit?
(if not)
I guess the only thing you can really do is see how each relationship is and how well you think one (or the other) fit into your life plan.  What does each person bring you and what you can offer each person.
(which is not always easy)  I broke up with someone that I got along GREAT with in the present but couldn't see myself with her in the long term.  It's rough.  (especially when I found out that her views on family and work had changed over the years after we broke up, and now she wants the same as me)

TA... I know exactly what you're talking about.  Assuming this is an actual situation for you, I have to say it can be a painful time.  I've had these types of problems before.  The best thing you can do is distinguish which one you want to love as a friend and which one you want to have as a lover... this decision can take a long time in some circumstances, and it can be painful trying to choose which person is best suited for each role in your life.  Luckily, I find the answer becomes clear at some point and you realize what the best thing for you to do is...
Nice thread Jebus... a quiet place is exactly what I'm looking for.  Somewhere to hang my coat for a while...

Do you know what it is. To love someone deeply but you can't be with that person because she is not a christian?

Ashen Shuger...
If you really care about someone you can't let that interfere with it.  There's a lot of wasted love in this world, becuase people let something hold it back... whatever it may be.  But, in so many cases, it shouldn't matter, you know...

Well in this case it's so damn hard for me. Cause god is one the first place in my life. He comes above all, especially my own feelings. And god doesn't forbid us to marry/go with non christians but at this point in my life I just can't share it with someone who's not a christian, no mather how much I love her :< And prolly when i'm ready to do share it with a non christian it's prolly to late.

That's a tough one...

The girl I was referring to in my above post, was not religious at all... and she basically told me that she would allow me to raise our (potential) children as catholics but that she would not attend mass.  this struck me as a first sign that things would be rough.  My present gf comes from a catholic family and we've agreed that our kids would go to catholic school and that we'd attend mass as a family.  Im happy to say that religion will not be an issue (until of course my kids start to rebel against religion ).

Was your question based on a RL issue?  something in the past?  Of what religion is this person?

(thanks for the comment Rage...
I guess I'll need more chairs )

*damns that flood protection ^^*

It is a real life issue i'm in at thias very moment. I've known her for over 10 years now, and we've always been twisting around of eachother, being jealouse when the other had a relationship and such. Up till the point I converted to christianity. A few weeks later she confessed to me what I already knew for years, and I to her what she already knew for years. But now the point is that well. We started twisting around eachother again because she knows I won't date non christian girls. (atleast not yet, thats what I told her)And i've been talking to alot of mates of mine from church, and they also say that it's hard but better for me to not start a relationship with a non christian girl. Because that might draw me to the 'world' again instead of to god.

So my dilemma is really. Can I or can't I take this shot? And if I wait a bit longer? Will she be gone? Did I scare her off with what I said?

Basicly.... i'm screwed up by my twisted feelings.

It really sucks to see people let love pass them by...
My question is... do you think that love is going to bring you back to the real world in a negative way and away from the lord?
Believe me, you will hurt if you let love pass you by...
By the way, I don't think she would mind what you said if she understands and cares about you...

I think you'll need to decide what she means to you deep down...  I know many couples with different religious backgrounds but they are together none the less.

However if you've recently converted, you may not be ready to handle the added stress of a multi-religious relationship.  It's hard to juggle one's God and one's feelings.
Of what religion is she?

She has no real religion 'she does believe in something higher then humanity' But does not believe in god as I do. I do not know how she feels about the fact that i'm a christian, and that I just simply can't accept some things, such as alcohol, smoking, and sex/living together before marriage.

And well she is human after all, we all are. So we all sin. I'm just affraid that if I go live to much in 'the world' again I will go back to my sinner's lifestyle again. And that is something I don't want. It's has enough for every christian as it is already without the temptations of your non christian friends with it.

yeah I supose that can be a tough call...

The most important thing is going to be to true to what you believe..  don't make a decision that you know you'll be uncomfortable with in the end.  If you have strong religious beliefs, and you decide to pursue a relationship that you know could steer you clear of your ethics, you could find yourself resenting yourself and her for the path you chose.

(it's hard for me to relate seeing it as my beliefs in God and the after life tend to differ from yours.)

EDIT:
..and as much as it's important for you to be happy with your decisions, you have to take into consideration her feelings as well.
