The legacy of the Shakars - OOC
I have decided to try something unique this time, instead of the normal fantasy with elves and dragons and such, this RP takes place in a Arabian desert setting. (Example: Ancient Egypt)
Here is the storyline
Wars and shook the empire for many years, and power changed so rapidly, that no one was sure who the current sultan was. The cat-people from the east were a constant nuisance, raiding small villages on the outskirts of Gil-Nowal, the capital city. Rumors grew of a shadow growing in the west, a gigantic plague, often a crazed man would stumble into town, weary from days of traveling in the sand. The horses had grown restless, and people began to fear the worst.
A legend was often heard whispered through the city, of an ancient dynasty ruling over the desert. The Shakar dynasty, but that was thousands and thousands of years ago, but the legend said the Heir would eventually return to claim the throne during its most perilous time. Could this signify the beginning of a new era?
Some background information:
For a close analogy of how this RP is, if you've ever played Diablo 2 - think of Act 2, Lut Gholein. The mummys, demons, and ancient mages and such... The "plague" in the west is a rise of demons and undead, will be explained fully in story element.
Now on the character registration..
My characters name is Fallon Jagar. He is 28 years old, and lives in relative isolation. He is most skilled with a bow, an carrys a mysterious dagger that seems to be as old as the earth itself, but is in perfect condition. All he knew is he has carried it since he was old enough to walk. Lately, he has had nightmares, perhaps even visions of the shadow in the west..But he hasnt been able to figure out what they mean just yet.

Though I really like this idea, I said it would have been better to let people discuss this first instead of telling them the setting and everything. By creating the setting together you feel more attached to the RP and can generate a lot more inspiration. I think before we start making characters we should spend a little bit more time for discussion.

Basically it's a great idea for a story, but not as good for an RP. This plotline is interesting, but at least for me it's not engaging. It's good reading material if you would like to do a story on your own. We haven't had any solo stories for a while now. If this doesn't work out as an RP, I would definitely make this a solo piece.
Basically I think what happened is you went to the store looking for apple cider, but you came back with tropicana orange juice.

I like it. It's slightly lacking in details, but that can be good to make the idea flexible. That and, as I understand by will be explained fully in story element, you have future plans? Also, you might want to be more specific in what details you want in character registrations.
Count me in. I'm going to bed right away, though, so no character yet.

There isnt much details, its a very open RP, you can control whatever you do...
However, i dont want LOTR-type fantasy elements such as Elves and Dwarves, they just dont seem to fit into the arabian/desert scene.

That comment was unnecessary, RSF. He made it pretty clear about what kind of characters he'd like the players to make.
I'll make a character: Chavi, a Sphinx, 327 years old, lives in total isolation but comes out to humans about once a year. She uses her claws and teeth to fight, and has an advantage over others, being able to fly. She doesn't ask a riddle to everyone she meets, but can tend to do so, and sees it as forfeiting your life to not to answer a riddle incorrectly. If someone answers her riddle correctly, she allows them to ask her any one question, and uses her vast knowledge to answer it.
That okay with you?

Desert Plaque, a sort of vampire, but except for preying on humans and drinks their blood, it preys of their minds, sucking their wisdom... Sucks wisdom through a gazelike hypnosis, followed by instant death of mental illness for the victim, depending on info sucked.
127 years old, a young one of his species. Lives with outcasted wizards deep in the graves... But has been casted out in the open, up to the surface.. To do his masters bidding. He is dillusional, and is itself mentally self.. and his master is a skizofrenic part of him, slowly crushing the last sane spots in his already suffering mind.

That's enough. Thread cleaned, and I have a few things to say.
RSF, you should know better than to subvert your own attempts at reviving the Glade by trashing 2X's ideas, which are meant to help you. If you don't like the idea, then add some of your own, but if the topic creator doesn't see -his- RP exactly like you do, then just don't join. I know the comment was made in jest, but try to be a little more discreet next time, okay?
2Xtreme, there's really no need to leave the Glade and abandon your RP, and I think you've overreacted a bit to RSF's statement. This is a good idea, and you've already gotten more people interested in it than most RPs here in Glade ever do. One person's opinion shouldn't send you off on a posting campaign against that person, no matter how harsh or snide the comment, and it certainly shouldn't cause you to stop posting altogether. Please consider staying.
I respect both of you as writers, but you shouldn't let a petty conflict like this cause this much commotion. We're all here to have fun, right? So let's.

Hmm, could work, mixing egypt (mummies, sphynxes) with arabian mythology (genies, nomads)..
I think I'll go as a genie.
Name: Tama
Race: Genie (Djinn)
Background: This genie is an ancient wanderer, a intangible spirit banished to imprisonment on this forsaken planet for all eternity. No one knows why. He can change his appearance to a certain extent but how a certain person views him is also based on that persons background. If captured by one who knows how, he can be enslaved to grant the wishes of his master until he dies, or until his master sets him free. The results of his wishes cannot infringe on others directly. He spends most of his time hiding but would willingly become the servant of a master who is likely to set him free.
He is neutral but generally dislikes most lower beings (non spirits) and enjoys their sufferings.

I finally got an idea for what to do in this thread. 
Name - Sahir Rasama Muhammad
Bio - A long time general who over the past several decades has led an army of mercenaries. His reputation is stellar having only lost but two battles out of his hundreds of skirmishes. His armies are feared more than any across the lands. Though many people have said he should rule the empire himself, he has said countless times, that it would complicate things for him. Power was something he did not want. Money was the only issue to him, something simple that won't get himself killed. He let everyone have all the power they wanted, except his army. That was his deal. He kept his one treasure and gave his clients all the power and glory they wished to have.
He has a massive estate along the Nile River where his numerous servants and wifes are housed. Though he rarely gets the chance to stay there himself. He is away constantly off fighting wars or travelling.
Recent Events - An unknown individual has threatened the life of his first born son. The threat came with a message along with the head of his first wife. The message carefully instructed him to meet out in the desert southwest of the capitol or the life of his son would be ended. There he will be told in person further of the terms upon which he must follow if he wishes for the safe return of his son.

Anuhbar is the leader of the biggest, best and most secret spy organisation. the main HQ of which are in in Gil-Nowal, which is run by Anuhbar's wife when he is out. this spy agency has a spy in every street and an ear listening in on every conversation. this ofcourse means that almost everything there is to know in Gil-Nowal is known by this secret organisation
When Anuhbar is not at the agency he can usually be found at the markets trading to increase his personal profits. These profits go towards his own palace by the Nile and to the acency to train new recruits
Anuhbar is also a deadly assassin. skilled with knives and short swords. he can throw any small blade with absolute accuracy and give a top swordsman a good battle. he can steal and shadow himself almost perfectly aswell. He's skill as an assassin in known and thus is able to be hired
he is currently on the search for his brother who disappeared on a trip to a small village on the egdes of Gil-Nowal

2X, I think we have a communication problem.
I mean, I thought you were asking me to do those things. I was ok with doing some of the things you wanted to make the story you had in mind progress, but you writing it for me is not ok. I already had the scenes planned out in my mind and I would have done it differently if I had actually been part of this story.
