No there's holes in the helmet just like in the helmets on humans. 
Interesting point, mr niceguy. You said that the H5 one looks like it could actually do some damage... the griffin is pretty high up in the heirarchy of Heroes and is a good troop, but how it still doesn't look as deadly as the game gives it credit for..
Same for the Unicorn.. It's just a horse with a horn. Ok, and a bit of magic, but still.
Yeah, I agree with you, except for the unicorn having magic. It has the ability to blind a creature using its horn, unless the creature has immunity to blinding(i.e. troglodytes), but not cast spells on opposing creatures.

H3 for me in this one
H1: doesn't look like a "griffin" to me..
H2: is too feathery
H4: looks like a vulture to me
H5: VERY close on this one, but I didn't cast the vote due to the "imperial tin-headed" griffin upgrade

yeah, I don;t like the armor either, but that's because they needed an upgrade. I like H2, H3 too.. H1 is too old, i think, H4 is kinda like a vulture. with the RED eyes!
