I actually the comment that you must pay for it (TOTAL RIP-OFF!!!) scared me away. I hate paying for something I like (?)
doing 
However, I don't know if I would like this game, but I do like to play games, so it fits that cathegory. (Though just barely)

Well it has a normal non paying account and a paying one. Apparently, you can get more items, access to member-only areas and a whole bunch of other things if you do pay. So in my opinion, it really isn't worth it.

Played this crap,and until today i spit with blood. Sold my lvl49 acc to some moron for 200LT(abuot 60 euros)and spent that cash on beer and snacks(that day Kaunas Zalgiris played against Moscow CSKA,and i needed the cash) runescape is a total waste of time in my opinion. Better to play RF online or some other free MMO.

many people told me that runescape is sooooo great game, but i dont think so. Best way to forget on it ( you can choose one of kind to forget):
1. sell for real money
2. get scammed
3. be hated
4. forget password
5. forget name
6. get banned
just choose one, not two or more.

Runecape sucks even if you were paid for playing it.
World of Warcraft does not suck. Over 10 million people pay over 10$ each month so they could play it. But then again it sucks because it's so good that it gets people addicted to it.
But hell no! don't ever pay 5$ for Runescape membership. Instead pay 10$ for WoW as it's 10 times better than RS but only double the cost.
Of course, in the first place I would suggest not to play any of these games.
Like I would care actually. I've managed to totally quit playing of both of these games and I'm free. I never do even feel like playing them again. Even the thought disgusts me.
I will never play MMORPGs again. Even if I were paid for it.
