Create a Town for Heroes V - Official Contest
A revelation has shocked the Heroes world - game designers are allowing the fans to make towns for their game!
Nival Interactive have given fans the opportunity to create their own town for Heroes V and step into the designers' shoes. With all towns for the upcoming game all finalised, one can only assume that this contest has been issued with a look towards the Heroes V Expansion pack.
With the wealth of talent and creative minds Heroes Community boasts in terms of town-making, getting one of these 'home-made' towns into the actual game may no longer be a pipe dream.
Among the newest contributors to the forums, Blitzkrieg_Boy, Fortress_Fan, and, of course, the ever-imaginative TDL, will have a chance to display their works to the game designers, along with anyone else who wishes to take up the challenge.
This is a truly golden opportunity for all members of the Hommunity, and even if you don't win, there are still great prizes available, including a mobile phone and a game steering wheel.
One warning, we are now sure that the contest is open worldwide, but the second hurdle is whether the submissions can be in English.
Read the translation of the entire rules at Age of Heroes. Here are a few basic guidelines:
" - To begin, undoubtedly, requires you to name your town - short, bright and original.
- Time at race is the name - means should be and an emblem! Think up and draw it.
- Now time has come to go deep into the past. Tell us how the race thought up by you has appeared in prequels, describe the basic events of its history, etc.
- Describe your race: how its representatives look, if they are engaged in a peace time, that love, that avoid, of whom are friends (if are friends), or if they are in the constant conflict (clashing), etc. Do not forget to tell us about places in which they live.
- Think up unique features of new race, but be careful to keep the game balanced.
- And, of course, think up seven types of creatures which will defend honour of the race on a battlefield. Specify the basic characteristics of each creature: strengths and the weaknesses, special abilities, magic qualities (if they have any). Do not forget to think up and describe upgrades of all of seven types of creatures!
- Lastly and most importantly! Do not forget a key rule of the participant of any competitions - the task at hand should be carried out with great attention to detail and constantly reviewed for errors, at least, three times. Don't rush - the better the race is described, the more harmoniously it will assimilate with the Heroes of Might and Magic V Universe, and the better chance you have of victory! "
This thread can be used as a place where people can preview and ask people to look over their proposals for them, if they feel brave enough.  Make sure you put in some copy protection for your ideas, as this is a public forum.
NOTE: If this contest is open only in the Russian language, this thread will most likely be deleted. It won't be left as a reminder of things that could have been...
The Contest closes on February 28, so time shouldn't be an issue for the moment.

Count me in! I will give it my best shot. My town will also be a tide town to watch out TDL, I'm confident I'm going to beat you. (No offence or anything though.)

What would be really great is if they put in a town editor/creator. The map editor is one of my favorite parts of the Heroes games, and a town editor would add even more customizability and playability. They would have to restrict custom towns in network play because not everyone would have the same towns. A town is a lot more complicated than a map, and would require alot more sophisticated editor so its probably not feasible, but it would still be nice.

Need the applicants have the Russian citizenship or just residence? 
Seriuosly though, can proposals in Russian be submitted even if one doesn't come from Russia...?
As if it the fact that only they are making the maps for H5 wasn't bad enough...

that sucks i just got back and this caught my eyes i glowed just for a sec til i reed i was gonna pull out some of my odd threads edit and repeat til those damn russians closed the door on me no offence anyone.

Update
Dmitriy E. of Nival said these three things in his latest posts about the contest:
"If we receive one entry in English, we will of course review it, but as an exception for those who use Russian language."
and then
"There will not be any additional announcements, but we are prepared to review works in English language."
and then
"Initially we organised the contest with "Gamemania", magazine which could be called international, but published in Russian. That's why if residents of other countries will want to participate, we will be happy. But we will not be making another announcement about the contest in English."
