Do you ever have end of the world dreams?
ignore user I had this dream 2 nights ago in which i found myself in the middle of a small US town. No idea where because i have never been outside the UK.
Anyway as everyone was busily shopping there are 2 incidents that suddenly happen that draw people attention away from what they are doing.
1st one is that Harrison Ford appears in the town square follwed by a camera crew.
The second incident is that the ground rapidly start turning black and getting wet and sticky.
Suddenly the ground opens up underneath Harrison Ford and he is up to his chest in oil.
Massive applauds all around as people realise that this is possibly the latest hollywood blockbuster, but this all soon turns to horror as the ground gives way underneath those trying to pull Ford out of the oil, and underneath the bystanders.
Within a few hours the ground is giving way from coast to coast and the US is drowning in oil.
During the course of the dream i somehow manage to find myself back in Britain where everything is fine for the time being, but it is rumoured that the same problem will occur over here within 6 months.
Then i awake. Anyone here ever have end of the world type dreams?

Not me.. I usually dream that I'm flying or.. having a .. good time 
Usually in my dreams, I do amazing things, spaceships and magic and that stuff.. then when I wake up I almost miss it, but then I forget all about it 
Sounds like you might be worried about oil and hollywood.. possibly the pollution of the earth and that nobody pays attention to it? Or just regular fear of oil n harrison ford  oilandharrisonfobia or something.

WTF DOES HARRISON FORD HAVE TO DO WITH THE END OF THE WORLD?

Its not my fault he was there. It just happened. But it could be a variant to the days when i used to dream that i was at the cinema and at some point i end up in the film.
Bjorn if you know that your dreaming in a flying dream then this could be something else entirely.

Not I but i knew some that had catastrophic dreams including our own city demolished trains hanging off railings & pollution etc.
Pretty freaky dreams i think.

OMG, we're all doomed
Yeah, sometimes, I think the latest was when pres. Bush was re-elected....
Mostly it's some stupid thing still stuck from my childhood, like dragons being sighted (hmm, could be too much H3 aswell  ) and the Loch Ness monster getting tired of Loch Ness and destroys everything on it's path to find a new resting place.
It's never a really serious one though, so I can live in peace without the fear it might actually happen

Somewhere in the past we had dreams topics part 1-2.
So I will post what I think about nightmares & bad dreams like I had 3-4 yrs ago in those threads lol.
Dreams are what comes in your head, sometimes when you think about certain unconscious thangs & sometimes you dont even know your thinking about it, then your spirit MAY leave your body to meditate so to speak to another place or time.Sometimes in the present like a house you seen before or a place you will see etc.
Nightmares sometimes I think comes from fear like for example, you fear of losing your parents & then you may have a bad dream.
You have castostrophic Armeggeddon on your mind then that can happen too.

I've had a dream about the end of the world (Meteor)
But I am happy to say that Harrison Ford was not in my dream so at least that's gives some hope to humanity.

I once dreamed that I destroyed the world casting an armageddon-like spell (think H4 opening). Maybe I was just a bit revolted before I went to bed.
Well, at least none of us dreamt with the end of the world and Chuck Norris... Our minds would collapse.

I never have nightmares because I sleep Lucide.. It means I control my own dream (not always entirely though) and can let things happen.
With this knowledge you can say no dreams (without work from whatever) are meant to mean something.
p.s. Never really dreamed about the end of the world.. Weird.

its the end of the world as we know it...
sure i get such dreams... and more often than not, in a fantasy/sci-fi setting (in fact, almost every dream i have is "tainted" with either fantasy or sci-fi - in any form, steampunk and cyberpunk included)
i am aware i am dreaming about 99% of the times and there have been cases of the same dream popping up twice, most of the time i get "sequels" or series of dreams (and yes, in one occasion i even got a commercial break - with "trailers" from other dreams)
anyway, back to the "end of the world" part... never had any celebrity in, but they tend to be rather cinematic so all in all, i have fun

My associations of the end of the world often comes in the form of another species taking over and wiping out humanity
(Eg. Zombies as in Land of the Dead)
Or some other creatures banding together to kill humanity
(Eg. Du Mariuer's short story 'The Birds')

Growing up I used to have dreams about aliens coming to get me while I was sleeping, I would hear them coming and escape - being on the run until I finally woke up from the fear. I was scared of this as the end of the world, and of aliens, until I had a dream at the age of about 20. (this is true so don't give me too much grief, and they really were scary )
Anyway the dream that stopped the fear - and the nightmares - was one where the aliens came, and actually caught me. They kept us in cages and made us line up to be experimented on. They were cutting off people's arms, making us jump on trampolines, etc. I woke up and it hit me - we are already doing this to other species, so it is probably just karma. I swear this is true - and I have not had one of these "cry myself to sleep" nightmares since.

wohoo, looks like Im the only one here who destroyed the world by himself.
about lucid dreaming, it happens to me all the time. Almost awlays I realize that I am dreaming, and them I can change the course of the dreaming toward some porn.

Well it wasnt an end of the world dream but this dream freaked me out still.
I dreamed that I was being chased by this little boy, he looked like he lived in a sewer or something and he had this picture that he kept showing me of a photo of a dead mangled horses face and on the bottom of the picture it said "beat a dead horse". He would laugh and laugh each time he showed it to me.
Anyways I know its a stupid dream now I am awake but it freaked me out last night regardless lol.
