Telemarketers!

They wasted many minutes of your life! You wanted revenge Now you can have it! Introducing THE TELECRAPPER 2000!

This software can intelligently talk to telemarketers, waste their time with a customized conversation, and record the result for your amusement!!

Check out the website for samples of real recorded conversations with telemarketers - this is major LOL (EDIT: The site has some stupid ads - if you get any popus or prompts, click cancel).

Have you ever done anything evil to a telemarketer? Or have you been one and had evil things done to you?

I do very immature and teenage things to Telemarketers when I called, but they are funny regardless.

One time, one called. I was like "look man, I'm in the process of getting my d*** s***ed by a girl, now if you don't mind leave me alone"

And even funnier was his response

"Well good luck with that, Sir"

I started laughing so hard.

Another good one is

If the Church people come to my house I talk to them & ask questions about contradictions or I pretend I am a demon with a Demonic voice & that will scare them off

I had this Indian guy from one of those call centres saying that his name was David* and the fact with these telemarketers is that being mean to them does not work.

*Name may or may not have been used, as I forget the name as I type.

My brother took to informing telemarketers that the person they were calling for had died in a tragic chainsaw juggling accident.

What sucks is when they really have died.  I've lost both my parents in the last three years.

It's really wierd when one of those **** telemarketers  call right after one of your parents died.  I never knew what to say and would just say "they aren't home" or something.  You know they died, but it's hard to actually say it out loud.  Then they start asking "what's a good time to reach them".  In my mind I'm thinking "they just freakin died two days ago and I don't need some freakin telemarketer reminding me of it.....you will NEVER be able to reach them.....and neither will I you SOB".

I Play Tricks

Telemarketers are rude. I get calls from them at least 4-8 times a day. I've come to despise them so much that I play tricks on them. My favorite trick is to test whether the telemarketer is a person or an automated message. I have caller I.D., you see, and whenever I get the rude caller I pick up the phone but don't put my ear to it. Then I hang it up. If it's a person then they usually try calling back (probably thinking the line was disconnected or something like that). But if it's a computer or machine then it automatically knows I've picked up and moves on to the next number in its database. The best part is seeing how many times a person will try calling back before finally giving up. And I'm sure they can hear me laughing during the one second pickup and hangup. I get a good laugh out of it and I feel compensated for their inconsiderate rudeness.

My family uses a psuedonym for our listing in the phone book.  Anyone calling for the non-existant person is a telemarketer, and my bro can say "so-and-so died" without serious repercussions.

That's a lot of calls.  I thought I had it bad getting 3-4 calls on a bad day, and that didn't happen very often.  Did you sign up for the "do not call" list.  The calls here decreased a LOT after signing up.

For those outside the US, Congress passed a law creating a "do not call" list.  It became illegal for telemarketers to call someone on the list, with heavy fines if they did.  The first day the law went into effect, there was an overwhelming response of people signing up.

Used to be one

Actually I wasn't a telemarketer I was a Market research person and quit that job when I had to do a half hour survey with a 13 year old girl and got 20 min into it and they made me ask her what brand of Tampons she preferred...

I have also worked for a company that called out to people who are on that DNC list, because I was calling them about Mutual Funds they owned and there votes for the upcoming SH meetings coming up.  Amazing how many people don't care about there own investments yet the get pissed off when they lose money.

I have 2 very simple standard responses:
1) Regular telemarketers ask a question like "are you interested in... " or "do you want ...?" I say "no" and hang up.
2) The really pushy ones who start out with a request like "I'd like to talk to someone who's authorized to make decisions about your phone plan", I reply with "too bad, because I don't feel like talking" and hand up.
