Rarest Cards?
I'm interested to know which are the rarest cards. I'm fairly sure that not all artifacts, heroes and spells were printed in the same quantity. This is based on my 650 card collection, and 3 other collections i've seen which total about 6000 cards. For instance, the prayer spell, st. ranan's staff seem very rare, life magic heroes seem to be in short supply and some specific heroes are unusually common, like Trome the barbarian. The weird thing is that some of the best artifacts (like robe of the guardian, which is relic-class in the game) seem to be more common than some of the more minor artifacts like boots. Were all cards of the same type printed in the same ratios and my impressions are due to sample size, or were there some rarity differences?

Hey Psychobabble, long time no post(by me!)
This is a favorite topic of mine in any CCG or other hobby which has rarities. My personal collection is over 7000 cards and I have them fully inventoried. (back a while ago, my life didn't interfere with my gaming as much as it has in the past few months! LOL!) Anyhow, the [non-hero] cards I have the fewest of are: Stone Skin and Dragon Strength- 1 each; Prayer, Summon Satyrs, Mass Speed, Equestrian Gloves, Long Sword, Telescope, Ship- 2 each; Summon Leprechaun, Summon Fire Elemental, Summon Unicorn, Seamanship, Lion's Shield of Courage, Mage's Staff, Plate Mail, Ring of Protection-3 each.
Keep in mind, I haven't bought any cards since the first major production shipment. So if some print sheets were adjusted (I remember Jonathan stating that Ship specifically was going to be fixed) my numbers won't help. Plus, I did get a few of the cards I had 0-1 copy of from an online store last Fall, so perhaps there should be another card or two on my list.
Hope I'll have time to get back on the boards and be a more consistant contributor!

Interesting. THat kind of matches with what I've seen, but is a bit different. Prayer, mage's staff and dragon strength seem to be particularly rare. Any patterns with heroes? Do you have a million Trome's like everyone else seems to? Oh, and if you're looking to fill in any hero gaps then feel free to post a want list, i might be able to help  .

I probably don't have quite 500 cards yet and already have 3 dragon strengths... statistically, I wouldn't say that's rare. I've made 3 different orders since last year and got one in the first order and 2 in the last order about two months ago.
I also don't have some of the cards yall are calling common. :-/
I would also like to know what the official word is on this. It can't be just coincidence that the three starter packs I've got are all 3 packs of one and 3 packs of another... all pretty spread out. It would seem that there is some control over the assembly of the decks rather than that being just random.

I don't know what you mean exactly by "patterns with heroes", and I have 3 Trome. I have 5 Vianne, 4 Desette, Nevon, Kurtos and Lanya. 3 of quite a few, and am still missing 1/3 or more others.

Everyone make sure you bring your hero trades to the summer cons. It will be quick and easy to get rid of some of your duplicates there.
