My bad about the quote, i miinterpreted and tried to cut it down. Technicly, its difficult for sea island to make strong feats on land. This is why its usualy not a starting town but pirates gotta get their piece sometimes.


The moat & boat could only enable sea creatures that can swim atleast somewhat in 3-4 feet of water.
at the same time little non sea based cant really stand in the water.

No, theres no wheels on the boat (unless someone really wants these guys to adapt and has the technology) The boats deck is formatted  to have a shallow (3-4ft) pool. It dosnt take much. If we on earth wanted to we could but we have nor purpose to evolve in the way, that these sea islanders would. I already provided the technical art (2 images), saying how the boat was made.

Homm is almost an insult to mythology.  There wouldn't be a difference than when they made all of them "live" in populated land areas. And the sea monsters, do the same things land ones do. They grow up in groups around the castle for the castle. Mythology, most of these creatures, are not properly set into the game.


Its kind of sad, that you cant shrink the huge sea monsters tho so they can exist in 3-4 feet water. Thats alright, there are pirates, sea men, (actual triton bearing swim folk with fins) pirana swarms or larg piranas, snake/eels, mermaids, a new genie race, mysterious new fish that heat up or freeze the water like psi elementals attack, and other ppl mentioned some monster ideas.

Sea spiders, heck ya make that! They walk, ontop of the water and cover thy face so the target has to kill it and nothin else but defend. Covering the upperbody is half damage attack. There is also the normal attack.

well, yeah. but i am not very supportive of taking the insult further, at least in my own posts.

btw i wonder if there would be any problem with the sea town if a player could not choose it as starting town type. so there wouldn't have to be a struggle from sea to land, but from land to sea (and only if the player feels that some control over the sea territory is needed).

btw i do have a creature ability idea myself. but first, i would like to see part of the sea battlefield consisting of water. maybe the whole ship should fit on the battlefield, maybe just part of the ship like part of the castle is visible in castle defense combat screen. well, i guess it would open up some new possibilities in boat vs boat combat either.

ok, the creature idea is that a creature like leviathan should not only be able to attack the creatures in the ship, but should also be able to damage the ship, which ultimately would just sink. imho this would bring leviathan closer to it's mythological origin.

Wether or not any town is chooseable in the beggining is up to the map maker.

The Castles battle field-
Can be very creative, starting with 4ft water.
I've thought many things unlike land based that take along time to list. Mabey simply like land based wall and gate, but it could be more advanced, to the water towns need for defence.

The boats battle field-
I provided mental images. Basicly, pipeage pooring water onto the pool like deck, and holes draining excess water about a foot beneath the railing.
(when attacking a ship, the enemies choose to be hailed upon with longrange, or board the water deck (sea islands boat).
because their ship is nearly sunk by a magic.



All this in mind really tells me, that basing these ideas of the good old Homm might not be a geat idea. They really need to change a whole lot about the game, and make it clear that its more advanced than any other game of its kind.

In the way, that if you put earth on one hand, and Homm on the other, you have a golden mean twisted with the modern twisted-mythology.
