JON:

Jon flinched as the monstrous hammer raised abruptly, and slammed down with thunderous clamour, crushing Eohl in his path. His bones crunched under the sheer force, and he was flung aside like an unwanted rag.

The mangled remains of what used to be Eohl flew across the circular room, and hit the wall, the medallion with it. With a trail of blood his body fell down along the wall before being punctured by the spikes. The medallion, however, landed safely on the disc.

Ironic.

But the discs were moving, and the medallion, being obviously important, was retreating from their grasp. Escape from this room was easy, just as in the last, but in the grand scheme it meant nothing. The medallion was the key.

Jon glanced at the end of the room; the discs were flowing into the wall seamlessly. The medallion would be dropped down into the spikes. He didn't hesitate to leap down onto the stairwell, and onto the furthest disc he could reach. It seemed stable enough, and the three meters good room.

"Hustle!" he called to the remaining party memebers.
"Either come with, or see if you can take on that beast up there!"

The discs were spaced to sparsely to easily traverse them. But not all.

Jon stood right at the back edge of his disc, and aimed at the nearest one.
One step, two steps faster, three steps running, a leap and he landed on the edge of the disc. He struggled to grab onto the opposite edge, and lifted himself to stability.

He was one step closer, but time was running out.

Shae
Shae watched the others closely as she heard the tunnel cave in behind them.  Although she was whole again she had only just begun the repair work on the strong one they called Robert.  The one who had called her an Angel, she smiled at the thought.  His leg was healed well enough for it to support most of his weight, and that would have to suffice for now.  Eohl’s death had been unfortunate but from it she deduced that the golem would not attack them on this level while they stayed within the area above the stairs.

Jon leapt onto one of the discs; calling behind him,
"Hustle!" He seemed to think he was some kind of leader.
"Either come with, or see if you can take on that beast up there!"  Shae considered her options.  He was right about one thing, we needed to get that medallion before the disk carrying it struck against the wall and it was lost.  The discs were moving quite slowly, but they were moving none-the-less.  She looked forward at the chain, then studied the medallion’s location.  It was just too far.  She ran towards the chain, grabbing hold of it with both arms extended upwards and swang as far as the chain would allow before dropping down and landing on a disc below.  She was three back from the artefact, the spikes beneath smiling at her like dragon’s teeth.  She shivered and called upwards,
“You boys get rid of that golem and meet us down the other end, it looks like there is no way out but up.”  It was doubtful that Robert’s leg would make a fall of ten meters anyway.

She turned to Jon who was moving across the discs at a respectable speed for a man.  “I’ll meet you there”.  She nodded towards the medallion, he signalled his recognition.  She loooved ‘leap frog'. Stepping back slowly so that the heels of her feet butted up against the back of the disc she bent her knees and laughed, flashing back once more to her childhood.  What was it about this place that kept evoking these memories.  Running forward, she pushed herself high into the air, and spun her body, a full backward turn while maintaining enough momentum to land on her feet, in the middle of the disc.  Yeah, that’s a good feeling.  And there was still two to go.
