Hour Glass...request
If I am not mistaken JB239 made the hourglass series of Heroes3 maps...please please if this is true would you lend your amazing map making talents to a H5 hourglass when you can.
I hope someday random map generator will also be included...there is something to be said about boldly going where no one has gone b4

Quote: Also I noticed a M&M Universe on the http://www.mightandmagic.com/us/community.php website, that had a little spot that said MAPS (COMING SOON)
This could be similar to a Map repository that the game maker can toss out there when the demand picks up and server rooms are starting to overflow with players want to play more different style of maps.
I posted this on the Multiplayer map section, should be posted here as well

Pandora came up with the idea and executive produced it.. but I created it Was a team effort. But you can bet once I get ahold of the map editor I will get busy with maps.. and even remake some fan favorite maps such as Hourglass

Thanks JB much appreciated
Thats good news to hear! I know you and Pandora are good friends and its no surprise you co-produced the Hourglass maps . ( I bought a BOK from you on your former shared account on Neo)
I very much look forward to playing your maps on Heroes5 after the editor has been released.
A side note...unfortunately in Ontario we won't see the game until May 25th now...grrrrr!!

It is a good thing that the map editor is delayed. In this way our map makers get to try the game aswell

That is an interesting thought, I had never really considered that if you spend all your time making maps, you dont get a chance to play the actual game. So a belated thankyou to all that have made maps I have enjoyed because you miss out on so much.

I wasn't aware of that, JB. I thought Pan did the original and you made 2&3 + SOD.
Doesn't matter to me....I loved them all. Prolly my favorite H3 map of all time was HG3.
Lookin forward to seeing much more of your work in the new season. You've always had a strong talent for mapmaking and I'm willing to bet your forthcoming maps will be among the most played in mp games.
Never said it before, but Thx for bein a bastage

Thank You
Btw.. I prolly made around 100 maps for Heroes 3. Many got lost or just sucked so got forgotten, but.. My trick back when was to work on maps while it was the opponents turn in a game.
Play a 2v2 game.. Id get a good 10 minutes between turns, so you could only imagine all the alt tabbing I was doing Hopefully the H5 editor isn't too resource heavy and I can do that again.
I am sure by the time the editor is out Ill have a nice feel for the game and can create some maps that cater to competitive tournament play.
Since I don't have the editor now, and I have so much free time at work... I might make a few blueprints for maps, that way when I get the editor I can just jump on it.

Hopefully this doesn't mean it will take years for you and her and Harrison Ford to all have free time at the same time to make it like they've been having trouble doing with Indiana Jones IV. LOL j/k
I'd like to add my thanks to you also JB. Before Midnight and a few others figured out how to make random templates that were decent, I was so glad to have so many maps to choose from. There is fun and satisfaction in coming up with a winning strategy to employ on the fixed maps but what I found kept me interested much longer was getting a new map to explore. I love exploring the unknown, uncovering the Shroad and playing the game on the fly. This was always 100 times more fun for me cause playing the same maps and doing the same things over and over again gets old quick. So thanks for continuing to come up with great maps to keep the game fresh.
One other note to you JB on your design talent is how you manage to make your maps so balanced without them being exact mirror images of each other. Seen a lot of maps out there that were like that.
I always thought about making maps myself but could never tear myself away from the game long enough to do it and I never really played 2 vs 2 much. (Something I hope to change this time around.) I always wanted to design a map that made you capture a town and actually have to build the shipyard to get to your opponent. In essence making the water and towns on each side the "stack in the road between you". Plus I just wanted for once to actually have a need to build the darn thing. LOL

Zilonite actually made some good ones as well.
Steve made the templates to suit every player.
Fast temps, long, challenging,3 player,Allies & even crazy ones just for random enjoyment.

FC_SP aint see that name in awhile, yes I would almost call it a joint effort, both worked on it at same time, but FC_SP made the real break though. But Midnight implemented it better.
Kinda like Oracle and ToH, Orcale was first ToH was second for tourny play but Rob just implemented it better.
