the War of the Eclipse - OOC
Once again, I might add we need to raise activity in the Glade. Thus, I deem it necessary that more threads are made, so as to encourage people to post here as well as create new RPs themselves and continue the chain reaction.
As the New Frontier did not get off yet and Cauldron's Keep has reached its peak of... well, umm, inactivity (although I wish it was different...  ), I decided to create another role play.
First of all, I now remember Shadowcaster's words saying that the Shadows thread might get the Glade off the medieval-fantasy setting. As a matter of fact, I would disagree as I find it is not vital. But variation is truly vital and there should be threads of all kinds, ranging from normal medieval-based fantasy RPs to modern/futuristic RPs such as Imagination.
That made me ponder a lot as to what new RP should be implemented and at the same time would attract people to join it.
And thus, no matter if it is bad or good, I present it to you...
War of the Worlds? 
Story:
2079. Earth.
In mid-winter, a solar eclipse occurs, yet lasts for a few days and people fear that the predictions might be right. The people are gripped in panic, as the astrologers prove their predictions that life exists somewhere else in the universe (as a matter of fact, in the nearest galaxy) to be correct. Shocked by the events, a group of renegade NASA scientists devote themselves to finding what is behind this all.
All of a sudden a large flaming asteroid hits the Atlantic Ocean, sending off tidal waves to each of its side. Researchers and scientists find out that it is not a normal asteroid and consists of unknown material.
Gripped by panic, people prepare to leave and some even settle for the arctic poles that are yet uninhabited. Yet, another of the asteroids hit the Earth, laying most of the surface of Earth into wastelands.
Like out of nowhere, two spaceships are seen floating in the space, just above the Earth's stratosphere. The scientists claim the worst - two battling alien races invade the solar system and choose the only planet with life in it - Earth, as their battle zone.
A long-feared battle begins!
The war costs many lives and is still being waged. Most of the surface of Earth is turned into wastelands and the continents themselves turn into one huge known as Pangea. Most of the new technologies, including aircraft, submarines and nuclear weapons are utterly destroyed.
Only possibility to survive - either hope for invaders' mercy and join them in their battle or join the war as a group of outsiders, trying to defend the fate of the Earth.
Setting:
Due to unknown reasons (probably provoked by the Greenhouse effect) the hot weather provokes a consequent movement of earth's upper litospherical layers until the continents join up into the continent of Pangea.
Surface (landscape) remains the same, although most lands are utterly destroyed, with only remains of big cities and wastelands "shining" in the sunlight. North America no more - the surface turns into something similar to a large plain/steppe, although with a bit of mountains. Europe and Africa remain the same, although every bit of humane creation (almost every) is destroyed. Modern buildings are shattered. Asia is turned into a mountain range with large forests and long rivers. Blizzards roam around with heaps of snow everywhere. Australia is once again a desert. Most of the eastern, south-eastern lands behind the mountains are turned into underground cities. The mountains stand high, shielding from attacks.
Central Africa is the main battlezone. Although more of a Equator region, Africa and a big part of South America is divided into the Artosh- and Maraan-owned territories (although quickly they are getting scattered across the surface of whole earth).
Species:
The three battling races are humans, artoshes and maraans (names created by the humans).
Humans are left with mere hope and old 18-19th century weaponry. Bows, rifles, cannons, swords are in use. People live in houses, nomadic tents, underground cities that are newly established. They develop new kinds of poisonous weaponry they utilize against their foes, though the research is heavily slowed down by the loss of newest technologies. As well, they equip themselves with adamantine armor, made from light, but strong diamond-resemblant metal. Humans, in terms of building, tend to follow the ancient methods and all over the world they build tall maian temples, sacrifical altars, pyramids and medieval castles in order to protect themselves from most invaders.
Artoshes are human-like race with pale skin and humane bodies. Though a bit taller and slimmer in size, they have much keener eyesight and are agile. As well, they command the elemental powers of fire, frost and lightning, capable of using the earth's own magic reserves to invoke harmful bolts
Maraans are psychic creatures with dark skin, red colorings, as if they were their hair. They are less-human-like, but have humane faces and facial attributes. Maraans lean towards brute force a bit more. Even though able to use telekinetic powers, they use their brute axe-like weapons and laser-like rifles to disintegrate their foes.
Alignment:
Humans - mixed (from evil to good; from lawful to chaotic). Although some join the Maraans, humans mostly fight to exist. They plan their movements to regain the Earth, whereas certain new found kingdoms/clans fight over power instead. Out of 21 billions of humans, merely one is left.

Maraans - chaotic evil. All they seek is destruction. They lay waste to everything they come across and disrupt every planet they can. Fearsome, capable of tricking human minds into treachery and telepathically communicating, the mischievous outsiders try to slay the Artoshes, as well as humans.
(appearance: beast mixture - humane face, daemonic, orcish, troll-like and tauren in one, with a bit of alien aspects)
Artoshes - lawful good. Although thought as evil by humans, they are aligned with good. They are against the invasions of unknown galaxies and systems, unless the situation needs be. Their only wish and goal - defend their home planets and defend earth, unless it is inevitable that it has to be destroyed, so the Maraans are fought against and vanquished once and for all (unless they declare they will continue to live on in their planet ONLY).
(by the looks, elves with PALE skin and a bit different facial features)
Goal:
To survive and win!
Humans: To prevail! The order and peace must be regained, control over earth conquered!
Maraans: Crush everyone under our mighty blow! Thee shall die from our power! None shall withstand as long as we are here!
Artoshes: Core to victory - Maraans under our feet! Miserable maggots, they are. This planet shall only be left once the Maraan forces are disrupted! At all costs!

Choose a race and you are in!
Might as well not include a description. This is all about imagination! At first, I think we should all develop bits of the story, knowing the general fact - a terrible war ensues and each of the three races are trying to prevail. Might as well create clans, imagine NPCs, whatever! Just know that I will be monitoring what you write!
Just do not forget - the text should link up into something more than mere extracts - into something that can with time be made into normal story. And beware - I will ask moderators to delete posts if people decide to discontinue the story and blow up earth or something like that.

First, I will start of with an OOC thread and when I see there are at least a few people (at least ONE member of each race), I will create the main thread.
Again, feel free to comment. I need details on what to add. It is pretty late (2 am) here and I do not know if everything is included. If I do not include what you propose anyways, be sure to make your wish at least halfway real by using your imagination

Woah! Sounds too good to be true TDL, I think it would be hard to pull off but we can give it a try 
I will be Egzoig, a Maraan but because he was born a with a bit more brighter skin color he was forced out of their community and became an outsider untill he joined the maraan conquering force.
Although he is evil (bad people ) he has his mind open for some good. He is having a hard time aiming his laser rifle but he is awesome with his axe in close combat and is known for his sneaky battle tactics 
Hope more people would join, if not you could start it in a week and maybe more would join after the first posts.
