I know orcs are honorable but no orc or any other creature in their right mind is gonna take his own life just like that. it's too fanatical and very unrealistic. there is no honor in killing yourself, the only honor is dying on the battlefield.  there is honor in surviving many battles and gaining the respect of the tribe. why would anyone want to kill themselves after all that?

Sorry to bust you on this, but this IS a verry realistic situation. Many ancient cultures took their own life, rather than dying of old age. The Vikings and the Roman Aristocrats did it all the time and it is debated that the Chartaginians did the same.

Almost any Viking Warrior feared dying in bed, for it would take away their chance of joining the great warriors of history in Valhalla, only those who died by a blade could. When a Viking was dying of old age, he would ask or even beg his family for a dagger or sword so he wouldn't die a shamefull death and disapoint the gods. Only by having his life taken by sword or dagger could he be visited by the messengers of Odin to take him to the castles of the Gods. Taking your life was viewed as the ultimate for of bravery and comitment to the Gods.

Many Roman Aristocrats died by taking their own life. Often when s/he would have been dishonored or ashamed of their failiure, for whatever reason, the would rather take their life than live in shame. To do that the only honorable way was by daggers point, for poison and hanging was viewed as cowardly. The aristocracy viewed suicide as an honorable death and the honorable thing to do, for to shame ones family was a greater sin than suicide.

Now you see that taking ones life for fear of the afterlife and/or shame is not unrealistic, it is very common in history. Of course you are right that Orcish warrior achieve great honor in surviving battles and bringing riches and glory to their tribes. And you are certainly not wrong when you say that Orcs want to live, see their tribe prosper and bask in the glory. But they fear to die a cowards death, as that would bring shame to their ancestors and their tribe. By taking their own life when they are old and feel that they are dying, they are not dishonored and spare themselves a long and agonising sickbed. And like the Vikings, they would have died by the blade and be able to join their ancestors. As beings so bound to their honor, Orcs would not frown upon suicide in cases like these. Of course it is not encouraged to do this, but many Orcs do this to be able to help their ancestors in their battle for the afterlife.

This is the best goddamn stronghold there was, is or ever will be! And my crew will agree with me.

JoonasTo, the wyvern description looks fine to me... War-overlord, the romans only killed themselves if they were ashamed or dishonored, like the japanese samurai. The vikings are a crazy lot, and they are more akin to the dwarves anyways in the expansion. But this is gonna be a pointless debate as it does not further the stronghold so I think we should just skip it... After all, Nival is gonna make their own history, timeline, creature line up, heroes.... All we are doing is giving a bunch of suggestions in hopes of making the best stronghold there is and hopefully make their life easier and keep the fans happy at the same time. If there are no other ammendments, how do we submit this to Nival? anyone?

Quartzhide Wyvern
Dwelling: Quartzstone Roost
As they age, the scales of wyverns grow thick and almost mineral-like. This is due to their ingestion of quartzstones which hardened the scales of these wyverns into dense armored carapaces. These scales offer these wyverns protection against various death spells and abilities (ie. Vorpal Sword, Harm Touch, Life Drain), making these ancient wyverns more durable than their younger bretheren. Named after the quartzstones they ingest by the orcs, the Quartzhide Wyverns are an invaluable addition to the tribes.
Crystal Scales
This creature is immune to direct creature killing abilities such as Harm Touch, Vorpal Sword, Deadeye Shot, etc

Now you see the point

It was about Quartzhide wywerns sorry.

I agree that we are stuck in a rather pointless debate, although I doubt that the Dwarves will very akin to Vikings, they might have certain influances in therms of looks, but if you would look at personality and reasoning, Orcs are the pinacle of Viking thinking. Either way, I agree with you that we should quit this debate.

For the piont of actualy submitting it to Nival, I already suggested to ask Alcibiades, as he claims he had submitted his dwarven town to them. Still I think we should have Baklava take a look at it first before we send it.

Alright people, sorry for not being here for a couple of days. Business
It's okay with the banner, I admit I made it a little too fancy for the orcs. I can't seem to find the credits; can someone else edit them please?
The master post is great. We can send it to Nival via e-mail and I thought that the master post is attached as a file separate from the one shown. In the e-mail text itself we can simply tell them that it costs nothing to look at the text and take any ideas they want freely.
Or we can just ask an admin of Heroes Community or Age of Heroes to present this to them, perhaps they'll pay more attention to him/her.
Desicions, desicions... Why not do both?
The whole point in sending e-mail is having an interesting "Subject" line, to secure that they read it. Something like "Pimp My Stronghold"
What's Nival's e-mail adress anyway?

JoonasTo, I see what you mean. I have corrected it. Thanks for pointing it out.

Fantastic work everyone. Since,  I'm pretty much a bum on the weekends I'll look for the credits and add and modify them and everyone take a look at the MASTER POST and if i or baklava have missed out your name for anything let one of us know and i shall correct it.
oh, dimo'rgh... very subliminal... i nearly missed it.

On another note, should we mention that we give Nival full right to implement these ideas and we seek no compensation whatsoever other than our names appearing in the credits at the end of the game for out work?

And like Gnoll mage said, its amazing what ppl from different corners of the globe can accomplish when we put our minds together...

I'm glad that SBlister brought this up. We defenitly HAVE to include the fact, that WE, the creators, claim no ownership of the ideas we will submit. And that WE shall demand not more in return than a special thank-you in the credits (in our Nicknames and only under the reader "For special inspiration" or something like that) and perhaps the notification that something is used, but that last is big maybe.
A friend of mine, who is a semi-professional game-reviewer, told me that to include this is a Must. Game-companies fear that if they use any fan-submitted stuff, how good it might be, because they might get sued by the fans who claim ownership of the ideas.

Anyway, I realy think the "shrimp" metafore for the dwarves has to be taken out of the credits. It adds absolutely nothing and has nothing to do with the Master-Post.
