I voted for Paladins first, then I'd have to call the Thanes second with the Rakshasas third. The criterion are 1) what's most useful on their own with no need for spell support and other tricks and which level 6 would qualify as their cities main striker.

Both the Paladin and the Thane can do a lot of damage early on because of their high initiative and their inherent special abilities. The Rakshasa has a delay while dash comes into effect, then they get really ugly... but that delay could cost them getting jousted, nuked or furied.

While Wraiths have good damage potential and decent initiative, they are just too slow to hit something on the first turn.

Shadow Matriarchs are ok, but they would need to have more damage output to be really good.

Without teleport assault Pit fiends and Treants just don't do much, although the Pit Fiends have 1 or 2 turns of mediocre use via spells.

Well, Luck does not change the fact that they still do very mediocre damage compared to any other level 6 creature (with the same amount of Luck). However, it is true that against a tightly packed group, their damage potential is greatly increased, and even if that is easy to counter, that does have the value of disrupting enemy tactical placement.

My vote is on Treants. Not because they are great offensive, but a very good defense for your shooters. With the right placement, large creatures (like most tier 6 creatures and every tier 7 creature) can't even reach the shooters anymore, and trying to kill a rooted Treant is quite a task, especially with Unlimited Retaliation. There are other uses for them, but they are undeniably at their best when rooted and 1-2 enemy stacks stuck with them ^^

Paladins are also a very good unit, but I think they got enough votes already ^^.

And yes, Pit Lords are pretty horrible, although they can usally inflict some damage regardless. Either their spells, or the Vorpal Blade if you try to down them before their first turn. And their large health pool doesn't help either.

the numbers

i think that is all about the numbers!
paladin is moving first! but, if Rakshasa Taja activate the skill , it will strike twaice per round... in atack and in retaliation... and paladin only in atack...
for me the best level 6 creature are Pit Lord and Wraith(if we talk in small numbers, maybe 1 to 1 fight)- why? no creature survive to a pit lord strike or wraith harm touch! the can even kill all 7 level creatures with only one strike! so... if we talk about lots af paladins againt lots of other 6 level creatures, then you can say that are the best, and i agree; but when u say BEST CREATURE(not CREATURES) i say that you are wrong...can u kill a pit lord with a paladin?
if i am wrong please tell me...maybe there are things i didn't think about (i am sorry for my english, it is not my first language)

In my opinion, the Thanes are the ultimate killing machine. Teleport, high damage and survivability and multi-strike. What more could you want?
But since they aren't on the list, I'll go with Paladins of course.
I like the trees, but they just fall too fast to enemy shooters, and being large creatures, it's damn easy to protect your troops from a teleporting tree. Any good player will know how to protect his archers from those walls. And even though their high defense is amazing, they just fall to shooters (or a warlock's spells).

Paladins are the best. Their damage is awesome. With training no other faction can get as many tier 6 creatures as Haven.

I voted for acient treas because of there defence and because death knights don't was on the list. They have the halving ability and I had 5 Death Knights and some other creatures and I had pressed Enter so many times so it was like three stacks of Unicorns and in every stack it was 63k (63 000) and my Skeletons went forward to make sure that Unicorns didn't hit back on Death Knights and my Death Knights killed 31,5k in 1 hit that i call good. I won the battle because of lvl 40 hero with raise dead and 100k of Ghost Dragons. It was like month 60 so that is many Enter pushes

I know it is long but I was alone with another player that only was in his castle so I went to my castle and pressed Enter many, many times. My hero after that fight he went up to level 40 and that is nice too.

1vs1 with no heroes would have to go to wraith or the Inferno guys that have vorp swords.  (dang me and my memory).  Harm Touch and Vorp Sword means they will have the upper hand.

However, though I like Stronghold and Sylvan for my town, I have to go with Paladin overall.  No reason, just like the specials.

As if my answer came to you as a surprise (do I even surprise people anymore?) I voted for the Wraith, having the Harm touch helps out in a clutch. On top of that the Undead trait that is often taken for granted. It makes it immune to nasties such as Puppet Master and Frenzy (i think). Banshee is, how i would say, horrible. Sure, its good if your enemy's Orlando. But otherwise, no. Go Wraiths!
