Just a couple of notes:

1. Don't forget to put the semicolons back in for the upgrades script.

2. If you want, you can make the scripts shorter by putting multiple commands for a receiver on the same line, just separate them with spaces (even that's not strictly necessary) and put a single semicolon at the end.

For example:

!#MA:O20/0 O37/0 O18/1;

The above would set the town alignment of three creatures.

You can do the same with the !#UN:T lines.

New Adventure Spells

Hi,

I am planning the improved version of my Shamanic Running/Shaman Dance spell.

Target: Low level heroes often run out of mana. -> "might is better than magic" . High level heroes have more spellpoints, than they could ever use. So I wanted to create a pair of adventure spells, that gives mana for temporary movement points, or movement for mana.
-> low level heroes can refuel w/o going to home (-> magic skills become more valuable), high level heroes will need all of their knowledge (speed is a key factor, knowledge gives speed-> ).

There will be some additional tricks. (limitations, mana divided by intelligence %, checking Arcane Tower etc.)

I also have an option called "Masters of spellcasting" to have more, than 1 spell per battleround..

Now my questions are:
- How many movement points are ok for a lvl1 hero, if it uses up all mana points for movement?
- What should be the best mana->movement conversion factor for high lvl heroes (skills around 25-25-25-25 and above)?
- How many spell per battleturn is the best to have might vs. magic balance? (now I am using 5 in equalised random version)

I plan to use something like this for mana converter:
T=A+D+S+K skill points of hero (w/o arties)
R(T)= T/A +B+ C/T, where A,B, C are free parameters.
If the hero uses up all of it's spellpoints  (~T/4*10), then
it will have an additional (T^2/A+Bx+C)*scale factor movement points.
Actual values of these parameters depend on your replies.

Best Regards,

Doom3d

I was think about such idea some time ago. I thought about 1 add. spellcast per 5-6 level of hero with max on 50-60 level. +Such add. spellcasts form so called spellcast points - for example, hero with 4 add. spellcasts can cast 5 spells of 1st level, 2 spells of 2st + 1 of 1st, etc. with limit of maximum 5 spells.

Hi,

Thank You for feedback.
I am thinking about playing with fractions. Integer transitions like 2->3 spell per turn would be a bit too big jump. "2.4 spell per turn" means You get 2.4 spellcast points per turn. If 2.8 spell remained in turn2, then You have a lowered chance to get 3rd spell, and if You get it, You will start next turn with -0.2+2.4=+2.2 spellcast points.

I also would base the bonus on sum of basic primary skill points, not hero lvl. It gives better estimation of hero power (w/o secondairy skills).

Actually, I am using spellcast points in the old version (build9),but all spells at any lvl cost only 1 point.

This lvl based spellcast point is interesting, but in this case I would add penalty for lvl1 mass spells. 5 tickets for lvl5 IMO is too much, so we should think it over.
It can be done with 'Masters of Spellcasting' randomized version.

About Shamanic Running: Now I am using an R(T) function for converter ratio, plus I plan to add a symmetrical E(T) efficiency curve, if necessary.
So now T=A+D+S+K sum of basic primary values, 5<=T<=396,
mana-> movement conversion ratio: R(T)*E(T)= [A/(T+B)+C]*E(T)
movement mana conversion factor: 1/(R(T)*E(T)
and actually E(T)=1 const, A=504,B=19,C=9, therefore R(T) changes from 30 to 10, depending on T.

A starting hero can have 60 manapoints for 1800 movement, or vice versa. A fullmax (99-99-99-99) hero can have approx. 10K movement for 999 mana, or ~180 mana for daily movement (~1800 movement points).
I don't know, if it gives too much or too less or just enough boost to magic heroes. If anybody has any ideas about the best R(T) or E(T) curve to have might vs. magic balance, please let me know.

I originally planned build10 for the end of march, but had a lot of bugfixes and free time problems. It will be out within a week.

I had this Wog project last year called Alliance of Good and Evil (AGE). All forses have joined together to gain the power of the world. Castle, Rampart and Tower has joined their forses to destroy the forces of evil. Necropolis, Dungeon and Infeno has made unholy alliance. Also Stronghold, Fortress and Neutral creatures of the world have joined their forces in this war. I had script made but the XL map never got finished. (H5 came along)

Changes some creature populations like Cerberi and many Neutral (Stronghold) town creature populations. Gorynyches stats changed!

So that was the script basicly and then there was the map configs. Each town had diffrent boost in map: Evil (Necropolis) had ofcurse Necromancy as their advantage. Good (Castle) has 5 range creatures, heroes starts whit archery skill and faster access to archery bonus artifacts in the map. Neutral (Stronhold) is real might fanction whit powerfull creatures and strong heroe like Crag Hack. There was custom made heroes for each 3 towns but never finished that project.

So that was my script from a while back people can test it if they want it should work allright. Thanks to Wog_edn for some advices for the script back then.

why not ? I think it OK !

In modern fantasy fiction, a lich (sometimes spelled liche, and pronounced 'litch') is a type of undead creature, usually an evil magician or a powerful undead king. The use of the term lich as a specific type of undead creature originates in the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game; previous works of fantasy fiction, such as Clark Ashton Smith's "Empire of the Necromancers", had used it as a general term for any animated or inanimate corpse. Liches often control other undead, using them as their soldiers and servants.

So Lich musstt higher lv than Black knight right ? but 3DO dont think so and in H5 UBI dont think so too let Wright higher lv than Lich . SO depends on u

New Magic system for WoG

Hi,

I have seen many famous hero on many forums, stating that might is better, then magic.
After thinking a little, I have used their arguments, as a specification about how to create a new magic system that brings magic heroes at equal level.

Main arguments were:

- low lvl magic heroes run out of mana very fast. After that they can fight w/o spells (loosing more HP than might heroes) or going back to Town for mana (loosing time).  So they will not have enough troops to continue fights,  so they will acquire artifacts, resources and XP slower. As a consequence, might heroes will develop faster, and will have higher spellpower&knowledge, then magic heroes.

-  in the endgame heroes have so big armies, that lvl1 mass spells are better than brute force direct damage spells.  So high lvl magic heroes have more mana, than they could ever spend. Higher knowledge is a waste of primary skill points.

my TRANSLATION:

- New adventure spell: Shamanic Dance. It enables You to convert mana to movement, or vice versa.
Low lvl heroes can refuel mana w/o going back to Town, and high lvl heroes can use up any amount of mana for to increase speed.  Conversion ratio can depend on hero lvl/primary skills.
It speeds up the game, when DD is disabled. (In fact, it can be a replacement for DD and waterwalk if used with fly and summon boat.)

- Masters of Spellcasting option, equalized version: enables heroes to cast more, than one spell per battle round.  As Darkloke suggested with other words, it is possible to set up spellcasting time for each spell.
So we can -for exemple- set spellcasting time higher for mass spells. This way mass spells would be less powerfull. Or give time penalty for berserk.

I have most of the stuff ready to implement it.
Question is what do You think about it?  Wich conversion factor meets your needs, how many spells per turn would you prefer (dpending on hero primary skills),  spellcasting time- is it  ok for You?
Dou You wish time penalty for mass spells, or for any overpowered spell?

Talking about big changes there doom3d. Mass spells are too good for might heroes but thats how the game/spells works in this game. If you wanna make Magic heroes equal boost up the sorcery skills and you can also change spell powers.

The mana is problem in early game but magic heroes are weak at end game and working on that part could make magic heroes worthy enough.

EDIT: Shamanic Dance aren't bad idea but might heroes would use this skill like no tomorrow. Think of Gunnar whit Exper Logistics + Speciality + Equestrian Gloves + Boots of Speed + Shamanic Dance whit only fast creatures Hey now i wanna that Shamanic Dance spell

Hi,

Shamanic Dance/Shamanic Running (Dance gives mana, Running gives movement) was originally planned as two separate spells. Later I managed  to write them together. WoGmod build 10 with this spell will be out next week. I just want to add a longer in-game manual to this spell. It takes some time to write man pages in two languages.
Otherwise build10 is ready & tested ok.

I guessed that at low level a magic hero comes out better with 30 mana/battle (using Shamanic Dance) than a might hero with +10 mana/battle.

For high levels: I also guessed that more spells/battleround gives some boost to magic heroes. Number of spells per round can be based on Spellpower, Knowledge or their sum.
But, any other ideas are welcome for next build.
Thanks for feedback.

P.S. I am testing... http://www.kepfeltolto.hu/?img=het
