i wanted to avoid the same mistake that 3DO made in H3, but using well known lvl4 creatures and trying to put them in a lower level. my creatures are elemental races, who are manifestations of the element, rather than elemental itself. in a perfect world, i would have made the original elementals these creatures. but, we don't live in a perfect world, so i have to find loopholes.
But you could include the elementals as they are without trying to make them different levels ...

channeling: drain enemy heroes mana for personal use.
the old elemental chains ability could be used, just given a different name.
but don't take ideas that Alcibiades and Daystar worked so hard on and use it without giving them a mention. its not fair play!
