The ERP (Episodic Role Play)
Here's another flavor I came up with for roleplaying. I think this could certainly be something that gets the community involved. The more casual reader to Glade would be able to enjoy reading but a short chapter, comprising of 15 to 50 posts.
Many people when I invite them to Glade tell me they don't want to make the committment and they wouldn't be able to stay active. Well you should be able to commit to something like this, because the stories will be design to end quickly... for the most part unless the posters decide to make it a little bit longer.
Most Roleplays plan themselves to be massive 3 part movies like lord of the rings. Why not have an hour long special each week instead? People will also be able to pick up the thread quickly. All they would need is to read a couple episodes to get a feel for how things work. Then maybe read the most recent episode and then they can make up their own character.
This would work especially well I think across pretty much any genre. Glade has had a lot of trouble finishing their stories. We always wanna do something really big and we've never learned how to finish a story. So I'd like to focus on this for our next big thing.

Well Fareport is going to be an ERP.
Just think a series of TV Shows vs. a three part movie like Lord of the Rings.

No. Not just one post.
It will be a numerous posts that last like two pages at the most. But probably more like 10-20 posts.

The first story will get us to know some characters. After that the thread will continue, maybe using some new characters, maybe using old characters, maybe both. It depends on what ideas we get.

I wanted to revive this thread as I feel it is still a great idea.
The basic concept is that you begin with a single setting. And write a short RP, no more than 3 to 5 pages. You start with a plan towards the end of a particular story. Once that story ends, a new story will begin in that same world. Some characters may recur, but most likely there will be several new characters introduced.
After a few stories there will be a rich developed world, full of characters and places to use at our disposal.
I would like to start up an RP if anyone is interested. The process of this thread would with a rough outline of a setting. I'm thinking small scale on this, probably a medival city. People would submit characters and then we would discuss possible plot ideas.
Fareport, was an ERP. It was an experiment, but one of the main characters went inactive. He's from another forum too. So I doubt he'll ever come back.
