The Beatles Facts

Be nice to talk about one of my fav groups of all time s& an inspiration for many groups to come.
Even nowadays the beatles were an inspiration to them.
The Beatles also had inspirations.

I will create some facts that some may or may not of known.

As when the beatles were still new.
Many thought they were another rock group.
When United Artist decided to make thier first film.
They were still within a year of being in America.
United Artist had the rights of thier soundtracks & movie from Capitol records.
They thought the Beatles would be a flop so they decided to do the movie in black & white then waste thier time for color.

Having those rights also limited Capitol for thier album.
They were not allowed to use the same name as the movie.
Capitol records made a new album called Something new.
Had all the songs from the movie except 2 (never released until the Hey Jude Album) (Misery & There's A Place was also supposed to be in an album in the future from not being in thier Early Beatles Album)
A Hard Day's Night
I Should Of Known Better (Capitols Single 45's)

If you ever owned the red Cover A Hard Day's Night LP.
You will realise it was a sound track created by the United Artist & not by Capitol American Records.
Capitol have no rights to the soundtrack.
Something New is thier Hard Day's Night Album.
I am guessing within those rights & this is a pure guess on my part.
They not only could not use the Hard Days Night title for thier LP but they also were not allowed to use the singles also.
A hard Day's night A Side
I Should Of Known Better B Side.

Now without making the same mistake twice in the future films with United Artist.
Capitol records will make sure they have the rights to the soundtrack.
Like Help
Magical Mystery Tour etc.

Otherwise they may of had to change the name of those albums also like A Hard Day's Night

The Film was created in AMerica deals with Capitol not with Parlophone the British counter parts.

British & American ALbums were different in the early years.
The Cd's you have are the Parlophone British versions.
Capitol American ALbums were never created in Cd's as i know.
Actually i think there a new box sets with Capitol cd's now.

You have the British Hard days night
American Capitol with thier dealings with United Artist.
You may reckognise a hugh dif in the Cd's/LP Parlophone
Let me get some pics

The one you probally are used to seeing
in LP/CD
Parlophone British album

This one you may or may not be used to back in 64 was the American release of a Hard day's night from United Artist not Capitol

From the agreement which you may have in your possesion was the Capitol version without the 2 songs I mentioned & a new name

Hehe I am sure you know all 3 albums
Same but in someway dif.
United Artist American version also had This Boy Ringos theme in it

WHen the Beatles first came to America they made a trip to the SUllivan show.
I could be wrong but I would of sworn it was in black & white.
with thier famous I want to hold your hand.
A single & not in the parlophone albums

2 dif singles
British Parlophone single was
I want to hold your hand & This Boy

Capitols version the one you know was
I want to hold your hand & I saw her standing there.
Small pic i know but all I can find in short time

As I mentioned before Parlophone didnt not produce singles much in thier albums
So you will not find I want to hold your hand & This boy in thier second album With The Beatles.

You may be used to this Capitol Album here with a lighter dif name for them coming to America.
You may also know the comparison with the blue tinted back ground.
Meet The Beatles!

Also in a famous red sterio rare version

ANother album came out before the beatles hit the states & another small time record place called Veejays released thier first album & Capitol never knew.
Thats why Meet the beatles is thier first album.
I saw her standing there was on that earliar album but Capitol never knew at that time which I believe why I saw Her standing there was the B side to I want to hold your hand.
Veejays was bought out soon after.
Earliar album called introducing the Beatles by Veejays records with the songs Misery & There's A Place but not Please Please me & Ask Me Why

??? oh sorry I meant this pic over here

Only in 1965 2 yrs later did Capitol finally make the earliar songs called The Early Beatles.
Without Misery & there's A Place but added Please Please me & Ask Me why.(I saw her standing there was in Meet the Beatles)
You may have this album as well.

I sure can talk

(PART1)The Beatles Used to play in under many names in various places.
They played alot in the Casbah club which Pete Bests mother owned.
McCartney liked his style & being a small time local group they wanted him as the drummer in 1960
Liked & very popular by mostly the women by his good looks & his personality.
Best also had a big head the size of a (
They were always looked at like that it was Pete bests group & he was the main one.
Not the best drummer in the world but was descent for small time I would say.

For months later they would play in other clubs also for small time cash & were seperated for a little time but reunited back in 1961.
Played in many more clubs in dif countries.
WHile being recruited by Tony Shridan in his band someone very watchful was watching one of thier perfomances.
The famous Brian Epstien.
Pretty boy huh
Also known as the 5th beatle at one time also.

ALso the manager of the records of departments at a place called nems.
Understanding the beatles were a rebel type of group back then & wore leather cloths & hair styles all rebel like.
Epstien taking a liking & giving them a chance wanted to make thier dreams come true.
Epstien tried many dif companys.
Decca turned him down
EMI marketing who turned him down.
Many dif people who worked for EMI turned him down.
Finally Epstien met with EMI Parlophone with George Martin.
Not really into the demoMartin decided to test them out.
He invited them to play for him in a studio
He liked what he heard but more liked thier personality & raw talent.
George Martin Decided to test them out.
Here a pic of a guy you will like George martin.

??? oh Wrong martin

George wanted the beatles to look more presentable.
Fixing thier hair to thier famous styles.
Suits then leather etc.
There was one problem though.
Pete best.
He would get carried away on drums at time & had a hard time keeping up.
At times you couldnt even hear the band because he would bang on those drums way to loud.
His head was (               )
Now (
He refused to get his hairstyle the way it was wanted.
He didnt want to listen.
He didnt want to wear suits.
He was so good looking & popular that he thought he did not have to.
He wanted to be #1 of the beatles.
The list goes on & on about his Hugh head & disrespect.
Especially his personality which I think yall can imagine.
Even the beatles were tired of him & Martin pulled Epstien aside to tell him to replace Best.
It was done in Aug of 62 & replaced by Richard Starkey (Ringo Starr_
Many fans were PEEVED.
Many came out in protest to let Pete back in & screw Ringo but that was never meant to be.

(PART2)Now the main A side song & the album could of been dif actually on thier very first EMI Parlophone record Please Please Me

Which had all 14 songs including Please Please me
Misery
There's A Place
Ask me why.

George martin had the idea of naming the A sided song How do you do it instead of the famous Please Please me.
Also wanted the album that name also but the beatles kindly didnt want to do it.
Still have a bad guys images the beatles thought they were too tough for the song.
After a few protests George martin finally gave in & gave what the beatles wanted.
Please Please me as the name of the album & the A side of the song.
His only wish was for them to record that song.
The Beatles did make that song How do you do it for george but not released in any other albums

Just think we would have thier very first album called How do you do it .

Like I said in the other thread, I only have 3 Beatles CDs. Eventually I will probably get all of them. I think I also have a late Beatles 45 laying around somewhere.

I have "Please Please Me" on Parlophone. The front cover is exactly like the vinyl pic you posted. The back cover that you posted is on the inside of my CD insert. The back of the insert is like this:

The other 2 CDs I have are new Beatles. I have "Let it Be" and "Abby Road".

I don't really understand what you are saying about the labels. Both Abby Road and Let It Be have both the Apple logo and Parlophone logo. The text says "manufactured by Capital". What's the deal with the 3 companies? This always confuses me about comp games also when they list like 5-6 different companies. You have to do some digging to figure out what role all the companies have.

Something else I just noticed about the Please Please Me album. It's mono instead of stereo. That shouldn't surprise me, but it does. That means that the original master recording was mono and not just the pressed vinyl.

Let me give it a shot.
Parlophone is a company from the UK.
Capitol are the American Albums
Apple was founded by John Lennon & Paul McCartney in 1968.

It was a business to do thier own work in thier own studio
Understand though that they did not get along at all with thier more free will in Apple.

Basically Capitol in the US
Parlophone is the UK where it originated from
Apple was created by John & Paul.

There aren't many Beatles songs I don't like.

Most induce some kind of memory flash from my teens when I used to listen to them alot.

I must have listened to Here Comes the Sun a gazillion times.
{girlie}
Here Comes The Sun
(George Harrison)

Here comes the sun, do do do do
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Little darling
It's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling
It feels like years since it's been here

Here comes the sun, do do do do
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Little darling
The smiles returning to the faces
Little darling
I seems like years since it's been here

Here comes the sun, do do do do
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes

Little darling
I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling
It seems like years since it's been clear

Here comes the sun, do do do do
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
Here comes the sun, do do do do
Here comes the sun
It's all right
It's all right
Wow, it's pretty repetative heehee

The first Beatles album I ever owned was the CD version of Magical Mystery Tour, which I bought in the latter half of last year. I'd forgotten that it was a sort of soundtrack album, but it turned out to be a good choice.

I really like "The Fool On the Hill", "Blue Jay Way", and "Your Mother Should Know". Of the other songs, I obviously enjoy "Hello Goodbye" and particularly "All You Need Is Love". The title track, "I Am the Walrus", and "Baby You're A Rich Man" are the three songs I don't like nearly as much as the others, but they aren't completely unlikable. These songs appeal to me in very different ways; indeed, the Beatles were brilliant. Overall, there's something for everyone on this album.

I remember reading about it last semester when I was supposed to be studying for finals. I'm too lazy cheat and look it up now, but I remember it was written for one of the Beatles' kids. It started out with the name "Jules" (I think), and it was later changed to "Jude". That's all I remember.

Well I know this without looking it up lol.

John wrote this song about his first son from his first wife.
Others believe dif.
They say it is a drug song about shooting up.
Lennon always said it was not & it was about his son & the other Beatles agreed.
I guess well never know.
Depends on whos side your on.
"Just let it out & let it in, Hey Jude Begin.
You needed someone to perform with."

Also Lucy In the Slies with Diamonds was also a song similar.
Lennon says that he wrote the song after he saw a pic of his sons drawing about a girl in the sly & it had diamonds in the pic as stars.
As what we know it was a song (L)ucy In The (S)ky with (D)iamonds.
A LSD song.
Pelephone flowers of yellow & green.
Head in the clouds & your gone.
The girl with Kelidascope eyes (yes cant spell it but I know what it means )

Also I am the Walrus.
Since I was not born at the time that the song was banned from radio stations because of misheard lyrics.
At the end of the song they say Juba Juba or somethang like that.
As heard from us it sounds like everybody smoke pot lol.

Edit1) Oh I forgot to mention the singles for the Magical Mystery tour for you Guitar guy.
first 5 songs were from the album & the rest were singles.
first singkes actually made during the Sgt Peppers album.

Edit2) pics

Double A side) A Side Strawberry Fields Forever/ Side Penny Lane

A Side All You Need Is Love/ B Side Baby Your A Rich Man

A Side Hello Goodbye/ B Side I Am The Walrus.

Oh & for you Angelito
A Side Hey Jude/ B Side Revolution

I told my mom about how John wrote the song about his son's drawing, but she still persists in believing the drug story. I guess it's easy to associate a lot of the Beatles' funkier songs with drugs due to their eccentric natures, particularly from the middle period. My mom also doesn't like the repeated phrasing in "Good Morning Good Morning". I'm not positive that I care much for it either.

They did over 3 yrs of mostly just love songs.
They wanted to do dif material.
Visit new places like India & learning thier religion.
As you notice it was starting to change a little after during the Rubber Soul album & when Revolver came out, it was all dif.
Dont hear many love songs as much.
except a couple.
Here There & Everywhere.
Got to get you back into my life.
Others were basically dif stuff.
I like that because they been there & done that with love songs for yrs.
I dont mind the change.

Quote:
Over the course of their career from 1962 to 1970, the Beatles covered a wide variety of music styles and recording techniques.  This diversity is apparent on many of their studio albums, including Revolver, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and the White Album.  These deviations into the realms of psychedelia, Indian raga, and studio experimentation contrasted greatly from the band’s original roots in straightforward rock music, as evidenced by the innocent poppy tunes on With The Beatles and A Hard Day’s Night.  These creative phases are often believed to have been crucial to the Beatles’ musical maturation, developing them into masterful songwriters and performers by the time they recorded for Abbey Road and Let It Be.

This was my introduction from a research paper on the Beatles this past semester.
