Lord of the Rings campaign, using existing towns

There has been suggestions for creating a "Lord of the Rings town", but how about just use the existing towns to make "Lord of the Rings" campaign, modelled after the movie/novel?

In fact, many of the heroes creatures were inspired by the novel.

The campaign will trace the journey of Frodo to Mount Doom, and cover significant events in the book. (E.g. getting the help of the Ents (Treants), defending helm's deep etc.) There can also be a level where we play Saruman, e.g. a mission with the objective of gathering 200 wood (for building the Isengard orc-production place).

Frodo, Aragon, Legolas, Gimli, Gandalf, Saruman etc. can be heroes. Gollum and Sam need not be playable in the game, but can appear as a character in the animated movies in the campaign.

Frodo's side will be the Haven & Sylvan towns, and Sauron's side will be the inferno & necropolis towns. The town names will follow the novel/movie names, like helm's deep, minas morgul etc.

We don't have to follow the exact original creatures in LotR, the purpose of this campaign is just to play the story. Saruman can have devils, pit lords etc and Legolas having druids whatever, the idea is just to play the LotR story in Heroes V, without too much focus on the accuracy of the creatures.

Frodo could also lead a small army just to make the game more interesting to play. The collecting resources, fighting guarding creatures etc. can be the same as the original heroes. In the end it is still a heroes V campaign based on LotR, not an exact lord of the rings game.

LotR without orcs? I don't think so... Besides, there's a lot of better original campaign ideas around here (not in the game unfortunately )
This can be done much better in heroes III, and I think there already is a number of downloadable LotR maps for it. It just wouldn't work for heroes V

got to agree with Baklava, and i can see why you want Frodo to be Haven and Sylvan, but no need for Sylvan, although good inmadination, this topic should be saved till a time of the orcs expansion, apart from that, let it rest
