Swamp Race - Time for Return!

Ehhhh, fotress in Heroes 3 is one of the most picturesque and cool towns in the heroes series (In my opinion) I think it is time for return!



Name: Swamp

Aka: The Adalinds, The Swamp People
Associated colors: Green, black, brown
Worship: Adal - the brimstone master
Core philosophy: "Neutral - my vocation, archemeny - my duty"
Country / kingdom: All Swamp people live in Karnaiir - solid wild territory
Capital city: Karnadaar
Key symbols: The World Tree, The Water of Vitality, Brimstone Crystal
Hero: Beastmaster



Description

All swamp people are liveing in Karnaiir - solid wild territory, with many other swamp races.

The swamp races are always neutral, but when other races attack them they become archenemy, they cant stop, until all invaders are killed and the enemy country destroyed.

Karnaiir is ruled by Adalid (noble title) and he is strong like Emperor. The first Adalid was Adal the Great form the lands of Adalia (Ancient sity-state) Adal was powerful mage, called the "brimstone master" he can control the 6 alchemic elements of the ancient world - brimstone, mercury, gold, silver, tin, copper and philosopher's stone.

Origins:

The swamp people are result of powerful curse, King Adal and his man were humans but Adal was cursed, to be immortal, to watch, how his people die and all his people to become lizards scales and countenance to be ashamed fo his face and to hide it behind cowl.

Hierarchy:




Nobles:

The nobles in Karnaiir are with different titles, Dardarat (Baron) Divarat (Count), Dekavat (Duke) almost the nobles are rich. The nobles must control the landowners and pay to them for work or something else...

Shamans:

The Shamans are priests of Adal, medics and mages. Like the normal priests they dont pay any taxes. The Shamans must treat the sicks.

Members of the order of Adal:

Or the swamp knights, they are soldiers, armoured with different armours, shields, helmets, for weapons they use short swords, or long spears, almost never bow and arrows. The swamp people think that the arrows are for cowards, who are afraid of the mele battles.

The Members of the order of Adal must protect the lands in time of war.

Landowners:

They must produce food for all inhabitants in Karnaiir, and give them work in plantations, corn-fields, workshops and other....

Architecture:

Maya architecture, like in Heroes 3 huge trees, you cant see the sun lights, moss and lichen on the walls gross bushes and water plants, some buildings are builded with mad and woods (houses of common people), Pyramids in and temples in Maya style. Wood spikes in front of the town walls. Small red, yellow and purple lights huge swamp and many firebugs. Gigantic statues of swamp people with sword and shields.



History

62 YSD - New beginning for Adal

King Adal I is cursed to be immortal, to watch, how his people die and all his people to become lizards scales and countenance to be ashamed fo his face and to hide it behind cowl. The curse is result or wizards  
anger, King Adal was orc's ally in the "War for Freedom" (Orc's rebellion, against the humas, after the rebellion the orc's become freedom.


145 YSD - War of the cold-blooded

"War of the cold-blooded" the three swap races are in war, King Adal, Count Darvil and Lord Marderil leader their fight for dominance.

147 YSD - End of the war

End of the war King Adal is now lieder of all swamp people, and finally he want his revenge, 20 years later he start a war against the mages, but the ally forces of humans and wizards defeat him, he go back to Karnaiir I wait more 20 years.

179 YSD - Order of Adal

The order of the swamp knights is now reality, Adal build giant war system and huge army, In Karnaiir are opencast many gold mines and the land is called by the other races "The Golden Lands"

187 YSD - War of the Silver Moon

Adal attack again the "War of the Silver Moon" is started the Silver cities are captured, Adal burn the most important libraries in the Silver cities, he want to "erase" every part of the wizards culture and civilization, when this is finished Adal just disappear. Nobody knows wher is he now... Some stories tell us, that he is sleeping in a cave somewhere in the cavern kingdom, and wait for his moment.

The world tree is already sort of a symbol for sylvans... I'd drop it...

so many naga towns, so few wurth posting on, anyway, i can tell to spent a fare bit of time in the Hireachey (lots of peasents), but really other than that, nothing new here

Inca/Myan/Aztect + Swamp + Nagas or Lizardman

atleast thats how I see it.  

So a Native South American social order (shamans, priest-king, that type of thing), take some of their mystical creatures, added some Lizardfolks or nagas, and put them in the swamp, and I think it should be good.

But must say I am also somewhat influce by Warhammer's lizardman army.

But anyhow.... I think there were a few thread about that already.  But do feel free to post your creature line up or faction ablity up.

Would someone please explain the phenomenon of everyone thinking the Naga should dwell in swamps? I mean, even I'm caught in that (check out the Perfect Temple) but I can't explain it... It probably has something to do with Warcraft. God I hate that. A few years from now children will think the Lord of the Rings is based on Warcraft.

I think for me Naga seem to fit in swamps because they worship the dragon of water. Also, we don't have a swamp race. Nevertheless, I think I would prefer it if Naga were on dry land, with majestic palaces etc. (maybe like the H3 tower; in fact I think that would be great, and thanks to whoever it was that mentioned a similar idea for inspiring me). In fact the alpha Haven screenshot that reappeared somewhere the other day would be something close. Hey, there could even be a little snow, and a coastline to maintain the water affinity perhaps. Basically, they don't need to be `wet` creatures to worship water. Kind of reminds me of my brother's ICTC entry actually.

The reason swamp is easier is that it is so unique from other landscapes, as are the buildings that tend to go with swampland. Underwater doesn't work either, so the obvious choice is out.

Adal... ever played World of Warcraft? In the only neutral capital the leader is namned A'dal (but he is a Naaru, looks like broken windows...).
