What's so strong about Logistics? I mean, sure it's nice to move faster, but it won't help you much in combat

It will but in a different sense. If you get reinforcements and catch your opponent with less army before he gets to his town you'll see!
But I'd rather get some lvls on it later, after I've taken my key skills for battle. When I start in an unfamiliar terrain as snow, sand I'll take it right away for pathfinding.

Istari: not all maps need logistics. There are some which don't.. taking defense there is better IMO.

ZombieLord: Try to catch a secondary hero which takes your mines and runs away. If he is strong enough to fight a level1 hero you can hire to beat him, you will have to involve your primary or secondary hero to stop the minestealing, and without logistics, they will never catch him anyway. Extremely annoying, but still good tactic.

Logistics is very good, especially for secondary heroes that need to bring reinforcements or flag mines.

However I disagree with Doomforge on the capture mine thing. Not all mines are important, every faction just needs to focus one 1 of them, and you can turtle with your main hero there since you need the resource.. Otherwise don't bother

I usually take Logistics with Warlocks to get Teleport Assault, making Deep Hydras especially deadly

Turtle with main hero? You want him to stand in place and guard the mine? While your opponent takes dragon utopia or gets powerful artifacts? Have fun then!

Most maps don't have individual Utopias for each player.. just suppose you weren't the first one.

About arties yes but they're quite rare, and usually need to be placed in the same slot as another powerful one you already own.

The question is if you really need the resource, of course.. And you can turtle with your secondary hero too, why should only the enemy have one?

Depends on the hero development. If the secondary hero is strong enough, you may need your primary one to drive him away..

Say, Deleb with her ballista only creeping the map and grok with the rest of the army raiding your territories (after a few suicide scout heroes to reveal the map. Since there is no fog of war, it's possible that the enemy's secondary hero will know where is your primary hero and when to run..

Haven, combined with luck, attack, defense, light magic, leadership (aura of swiftness! ) is really hard to cope with. I take sometimes instead of defense logistics if i am playing a big map. Doomforge, very nice analysis!

IS HAVEN WEAK? an OVERWIEV...
haven is a unique race but not so powerfull like the other races.... their ultimate is useless ( Unstoppable charge?!) how many times per combat do you really use hero's retaliation strike, with the magic guilds that contain light&( dark magic)
so well haven was more powerfull in heroes3, now it's poor and weak.
but some other races are even weaker so that makes haven flooting (sp?) on the water... they also dont have an artifact seller, the only unique building are the stables, and what about the training special ability for the castle? i think thats unfair ( is there is this training, should they at least  drop the prices, i mean to transform creatures into higher lv troops thats bankrupting )
light magic, defense, leadership, attack.... what about someting else? there is no other good skill (maybe dark magic) but still inferno has more to offer.
creatures.... i dont find brute so weak ( they have assault--2X attack, well thats  a new, no other race has their tier 1 double attack...low attack tough)
crossbowman... the best tier 2 in my oppinion. thankgod they have a full range.
vindicators: slow but destructable...nicely done by the makers of this game, squires were totally useless.
battle grifins (boring) but still a battle dive from the sky is fair & unlimited retaliation is awesome for this unit. a good tier4 creature.
inquisitor is far better than zealot. it casts mayore (sp?) spells that are a must in the haven army....( with cleansing you never know is zealot will cure the selected creature)
paladins have lay hands which is an advantage over champions where you can hit your own creatures...
archangels are better for a defensive play, seraphs are more ofensive, still I prefer Archangels better with their ressurection.

No when you know how to use it

Squires are very useful during creeping. They save you from losing too much archers.

Inquisitor is far better? Zealot is more offensive and he got one cleanse! Knight usually has light magic so I always have Zealot.

Champion never hit your own creatures unless you command him to do so

I like Haven a lot and its troops are not weak with a strong might hero.

You don't understand how freedom works. The mere fact you COULD do something doesn't meant you MUST do it I believe normal players don't kill their own units intentionally.

Laszlo
Speciality Well, it used to be a killer with the old training system.. no, I'm not joking, Laszlo on rich maps enjoyed an army of squires doing damage three times greater than black dragons PLUS shield bash triggering all the time due to massive HP of the stack. With divine guidance and mass haste, it was a JOKE. Maybe not as big as marksmen, but WAY more durable. That lies in the past, however. The current laszlo is, like Klaus, a mediocre guy. Sure, you can still double the squires' population via training, but it will still give you slightly above 100 damage per week. Not bad for a tanky level 3 unit, but the potential of training lies elsewhere IMO.
SkillsDefense is another skill I'd like to see for every knight, but 15% chance of getting it makes starting with it not very hot. Vitality may help in the beginning, but since marksmen hordes are no more, the need for vitality is significantly lower.
Rating Just like Klaus: Mediocre. 5/10.

eh,i noticed that this is old,but does anybody here fighted against lvl24 lazlo with 300+ vindicators? well, when i attacked against 360 with my 35 untamed cyclops, they killed only 50 and they retalied 14 cyclops died -.- also 220 vindicators attacked against my  excicuitoners first strike 17 died, second strike 42 died.So i think lazlo is waaaaaay better than this "review" says

Laszlo is decent...starts with defence, vitality is also, in his hands Squires/Vindicators rulz (lvl 16, att/def is doubled, equivalent to tier 5 )

...woot... ...maybe in small, steril maps... Try playin' with haven more and then say they are poor & weak

...... then we will see 400 marksman first month... again or later x+ stacks paladins that OHKO everything they hit...

...dark magic, war machines, luck, logistics...

Conscript/Brute - for creeping
Marksman/Crossbowman - rulz, i use both
Squire/Vindicator - Squires from beginning then switch for Cleave
Battle Griffin - is sick when put next to archers
Zealot - better fits my playing style
Paladin/Champion - Paladin is better 4 me
Seraph - all the way

I don't think so. It's one of the best might faction.

Haven has better offer, it is a might faction and has light magic. Leadership work well for might faction. I would choose light over dark for might faction. Defence empower haven already insane defence, knight primary stat boost this even further making haven the ultimate might faction.
