The guild of Explorers

somewhere in the holy griffon empire, there are people who want to explore the world. they want to share their findings from all over the world with eachother. they have biologists, cartographers, navigators and guides to help them travel all over Ashan.
this is the Guild of Explorers, a group of high ranking men and women who want to discover. Formerly based in Talongard, however, they have now moved to Featherfall city to escape persuction from Queen Isabel. they have been, collectivally, almost everywhere on ashan's surface, and the map they have drawn up looks like this

and these are their letters back to the guild about the places they have visited. documented and carefully filed, to be presevred forever.

please right letters from a member of the guild of explorers as they travel to different countries, meet new races and creatures, and share artwork, food, recreation, trade and interests with some important people (heroes). as these are people who have alot of time of their hands, please make the letters as long and descriptive as possible, please.

the members are

Sir Edward of the Falcon duchy
Lady Cathrine of the Horse duchy
Lord ALexander of the order of the roaring lion
Madien Hillary, Mayoress of Featherfall (city)
Father Magnus of the abbey of the keen eye
Deaconess Matilda of the abbey of the shinning wing

all letters must be titled either "to the Guild of explorers" or "to Sir Magnus of the Heron barony, founder of the guild of explorers" and must end with your members name and a date.

to the guild of Explorers

challoth

the country of sumtous olives, red wine, sweet music, fantastic explorers, mad inventors, wonderful painters and beautiful women. i have reached it finally, after a solid ride through the mountians bordering our empire and Irollan. Challoth is a wonderful country. This country is the pinicle of modern art and architecture. it is a hub of trade, where races from all over Ashan come to barter and exchange goods. today, i brought myself a wonderful dwarven-crafted sword (i assume so, the stall holder garunteed it, being a dwarf himself) and a fine cloak from Al-safir, so i am told. the painters and the scuptures are marvelous, far outstriping the holy griffon empire in both detail and colour. i met with one of the painters, a Mr Leonardo Va Donci, a delightful chap, if a little on the potty side. he told me that he had been experimenting on a design for a steam powered wagon, which he calls  "Ar Aeros Machinous" or "gas engine" (i think that is what it is, my Challothian's a bit rusty) and is planning to use it to paint a enormous painting, to outstrip a previous sculpture of his, an enormous dragon.
the food here is simply divine, some of the best i have tasted all my life. it has all manner of fruits and vegetables, herbs and spices from all across the world, along with animals and poultry, making its quisen some of the best in the world. an explorer just came back from a far off expedition, his name was Parco moil, or something like that. he claimed to have reached to a strange place, inhabitied by even stranger people. he said they worshiped strange deities and did frightening rituals. once it was over, they played a strange game that involved hitting a small ball with a large bat, trying to protect three sticks from being knocked over. he claims they call it "Crickei" but i am not sure. this evening i was invited to a masked ball. we all put on masks of different animals and creatures and danced together. then at the end of the song, we take of our masks and show each other who we are. i remember dancing, in a griffons mask, with an elf, who was in a unicorns mask, a dwarf with a bear mask on, and several Challothian beauties. one of them was so taken with me, that she asked me to come to another dance a week from now. i am very tempted to accept.

i hope to see you all soon

yours sincerly

Sir Edward, of the falcon duchy, guild explorer, 765YSD

mud, water, dirt, their seems to see a never ending supply of these subbtances, here on the front, the Elves are holding a forrosh resistance, but with are contious barash of boulders and arrows we predict the Fortress of Gernerk, will fall in 11 months. However one of our explorers has exposed a weakness in the wall of the city, our forces spearheaded attack the walls weakest point casued the entire wall to calaspe, in mearly five days the battle inside the city was over, our next attack will be in 20 days directed at the trade routes bettween the Elves and the Dwarves

unfortunately, ted, its not a war jornal, its letters of exploration.

for an example imagine Sir Edward writing back from Al-Safir, after staying there, being allowed into the construction of golems and the arcane forge, began able to eat the food and also meating Havez (or another academy hero). its in peace time, not war.

The final part of Duke Ferringwale's "Chronicles of Kreegar", which was found, but never finished.
"Traveling through Kreegar is like having a bad dream. Most of the land is covered in lifeless wastes, through which sometimes lava flows break through to create rivers of fire. There is no trace of any sort of vegetation, let alone life itself, yet in nights spent here I sense a strange presence... Like someone is constantly watching every corner of this forsaken land. As I have written before, it is daring enough to be here and travel through these deserts of death, and I have failed to gather courage to explore the nightmarish caves scattered around extinguished volcanoes. Until four days ago.
With my trusty scribe, I have finally decided to push into the grotto of the seemingly largest cave I have discovered. Constantly battling nightmarish thoughts, we have roamed through it, but it seems to be endless. Agreeing to leave a rope behind us so that we can find a way back, we linger on in the tunnels so dark that they seem to devour each trace of light. Candles and even torches provide us with barely enough light to see each other... Two members of the expedition even got lost. We have never found them. I pray that they are safe.
Perhaps we should just turn back. Some things are best left unseen. But my curiosity guides me and my comrades, to death or to greatest discoveries known to man. Maybe even to both.
I don't know whether I wish to find life here or not. It would be a huge finding, yes, but then again, life in this darkness cannot exist. It would be impossible for anything to exist around this place. Nothing to feed upon, nothing to look at, nothing to be a part of, except darkness.
I, however, sense something. Like something has moved or looked at me... My mind cannot stand this anymore, and it is allowing my imagination to play tricks on me. I would so want to meet a living being here... I can almost feel it, breathing behind my...

Here the writing ends with an inkstain. Although other members of the expedition found this text dropped on the floor, they never found any trace of Duke Ferringwale. They quickly decided to pull back. To this day, Duke Ferringwale was the only adventurist courageous enough to try and map the lands of Kreegar. A statue dedicated to him was raised a month later in the courtyard of the Guild's building, and he is still honourably mentioned as one of the bravest members of the Guild ever born.

Thanks... It however seems that not many people are interested in the geography of Ashan...

Why not make it possible to post war journals here too? It would add some variety...

Oh, alright, but i would prefer letters of exploration, hence "Guild of explorers" not "guild of war journalists". they have to be from other wars (not the current one), and can't give a inbalanced account of tactics and the enemy (sorry ted). they are basically a report of what happened without any "our glorious knights rode throught the blasphemous elves temple to the pagan goddess Sylvanna, a vile religion that should be destroyed (blah blah blah)". it should be "the knights rode through the elven temple to Sylvanna". with War journals, i'm not giving people as much liway as i did with letters, making people stick to the facts.

remember, the explorers do not have any religious fanatism, so they are open minded to new experiences, and in warfare, give a balanced and accurate account, from both sides (you don't have to use the explorers for this.)
