Death of a Lich
This is goodbye, folks.
To those I offended I offer my heartfelt apologies. If I could make things between you and me right before I left I would kill myself (hee hee) to do so. As it stands, all I can do is say 'I was wrong and I apologize.'
There are a few of you I'd like to wish a personal farewell to, and I want you to know that I truly loved each of you--in one way or another you touched my life and my soul in a way that made you a part of me forever.
I have one personal farewell to offer and then I will list the names of many people I considered to be near and dear to my heart.
To Roy "Bright_Blade" Thomas Boe: You were ever my true soulmate. I loved you, my brother. If the afterlife exists, and if I'm able, I'll be watching you and protecting you. I could write volumes here, but only you will ever understand how much you mean to me. You are my brother, and together we are Warriors Of The World!!! Whenever you're up against the wall and it's 'do or die' just remember how you always pulled it out of your ass against me when it looked like I had you pinned--Lock, Stock, and Barrel. Take that resourfulness and apply it life. You'll go as far as you want. snowineth Ayeth, wot! So sayeth the Lich and so sayeth the flock. Later, bro.

Is this for real? It doesn't make sense for me. And what is the situation here between 'blade' and lichking? I didn't even know they knew each other. Lich has a wife and kids as far as I know...
Anyways... liches cannot really die!

The relationship between 'blade' and LichKing goes back a ways. We've been playing homm regularly for quite a few years, although I haven't been reporting games since "season 3", I think. My nick used to be 'Bright_Blade'.
Yes, I think it is for real. He has a wife and kids, I know, and it seems out of character for lichy to kill himself, but he is an alcoholic. (He started a thread about it in other side of the monitor) and perhaps his wife left him and took the kids. I wouldn't know, because this is the first I've heard from him in months.
I thought you knew him, 'vesuvius', that's why I asked if you would call him and find out if this is some ***** up prank. But I don't think it is. When he sets his mind on doing something, he is the kind of man to follow through.

Last post of Blade was in 2004. 3 hours after Lich's post, Blade appears and becomes exaggerately dramatic; Don't be fooled.

I don't usually post here, no. But I know Lichy is a regular, and when he sent a "farewell" via e-mail, I came here to see if he had posted something. You think this is Lichking kidding around with a seperate account? Why on earth would he?
No, the truth is he has more than likely taken a bunch of pills and swallowed it down with a bottle of whiskey. I thought someone here might atleast care enough to check it out. I hope he's just sick of homm and making a dramatic exit from the forums, but that's a long shot.

Well I just called his number, talked to his wife, and she says he's ok. Perhaps its just a way of saying he won't be participating in the heroes community anymore, which is fine 
To Tim (Lichking) however: If it is financial problems, I'm more than willing to help you out.

wow... from the first time I read liches post, I took it as he was just leaving the HOMMUNITY not really killing himself. I think some of you did blow it outta preportion. Some people have a flare for the dramatic.
In other news.... I have a $130,000 morgage, 3 maxed out credit cards, 2 cars both have over 120,000 miles, enough bills to stop anyones heart...3 kids and a wife to support.... so if you are wanting to help someone out that could use some financial assistance... look no further.

You hit the nail on the head with your earlier suggestion about the pills and whiskey, Bud.... For the record, it was a cocktail of Paxil and Wellbutrin and Vokda, and it ended up costing me 3 days in the Intensive Care Unit of the nearest hospital and will most likely also cost me my job. Why the hell did I do it? Hell, I dunno, wish I did, and hope to God I don't get myself into an ignorant enough state of mind to do it again. My best guess is to agree with the shrink I had to go see today and just call it a combo of manic depression and too much of the wrong medication. Hell, What's it matter, anyway, lol.......it's over and done and all I can say is that I'm very sorry I acted as immaturely as I did. My 'Goodbye' message, for what it is worth, was from the heart and was truly meant to be a farewell. I wasn't looking for a pity party from anyone. The best I can do to describe my feelings is to say that I'm just plain old worn out emotionally and psychologically. I hope with all of my being that none of you ever come to the point of being able to honestly relate to what I'm trying to say.
I'll elaborate further after I've had time to get my head on somewhat straighter. Roy, I am SO VERY SORRY. I mean that from the bottom of my heart and I hope you understand.

We all happy ya came thru ok Lichy,if i was as bad a homm player as you and got tired o being beaten by everybody else on a regular basis i might consider that choice of path meself. oh yeah that's right, I am an awful homm player and i used to get beaten by everybody else all the time  WWWaaahhhhh!!! where's my bottle o whisky!!!
ps. all joking aside, though unfortunately my talent or lack there of at my favorite game was no joke , it's great to have you still around Lychy, and i hope you keep annoying people for a long time to come

Hey Lichman, good to see that your ok.
Sometimes the feelings go deeper then needing A/A
I fond AA or NA meetings to be like seeing a therapist.
They help you with your problems, but they wont tell you your problems.
You have to look within.
Difference is with NA & AA which are the same meetings is that you can hear others speak out.
Sometimes there is something missing in your soul that you have to try to cure.
Sometimes you have to look at a bright side & see that sometimes it could be worst.
We have it so much better then some people in other countries who have no education, starving & diseases.
I always try to donate what I can afford when I can.
Just remember Lichness!!!.
Try to find alternatives to help your life.
Dont be afraid of change.
Change is usually always good.
Changes will happen.
I seen it, I been there & i seen so much from many point of views.
Just toss your liquer out.Beer or whatever makes you unhappy & try a new drug, like caffine 
It's usually all in your head,drugs,alcy etc.
Even cigs.
You can quit if you try hard enough.
You are tough. I talked to you many times.
You just need to be tougher then the addiction.
Maybe take some medicine for your depression & make a change.
You never know, a new change may make you happier.
No one ever knows until you try to make a change.
P.S Mike I will kick your butt in a wrestling match!!!.

hmm.... I am pretty sure I could take you at both... I am much better at Poker then I am at Heroes.
Even tho I think Poker is a game of skill....it does have its share of luck... But does NOT compare to the amount of luck element in heroes.
Poker = 85% skill 15% luck
Heroes = 30% skill 70% luck

I seen players who got the skill overcome a crap map bebefitting the oposite player.
As well as poker screwing skillful players over.
I say heroes a 60% skill & 40% luck.
in Poker it's 70% luck & 30& skill.
ALot of luck & I told people I consider Poker to be like heroes.
The luck. the skill.The gambles.
Everything poker brings you. Heroes brings you as well.
