There can be the odd humorous character and lighter moment, but no straight out jokes, ruin the game too easily.

How about darkness or shadow.
That could oppose the faith element, so you would have dark spells and shadow orriented weaponry and armour.
ex:-cloak of shadows, provides light armour, but increases evasion, and has a greater evasion boost during night time.
-eclipse, a powerful dark spell that shadows the entire land, giving bonus power to other darkness spells and items.

i don't think technology should be an element imo...
I don't think technology should be in it at all actually, if it's a fantasy game, but if there is, it could be like clockwork cogs and steam and stuff, and you could have that opposing the elements
like:
Fire
Air
Water
Earth
Light
Darkness

for technology, it is essencaily that. clockwork, steam, cogs, ideas from mad inventors, and it all could go wrong at any moment.
its the same with magic and faith, nature magic might go wrong and you summon a rabid wolf. arcane magic, you could have some arcane entity attack your mind. faith, the gods just don't answer you.
as for shadow: it seems ok, but it doesn't really offer a alternative to faith, does it.

If u gonna make the perferct RPG game then you should try to play blood omen 1 and soul reaver 1.
you should try Final Fantasy 1 too.
