I like every single fraction this time, which has got much work behind it (bixie, Daystar, EliteKill)

You guys don't have any idea how hard it is for me to choose the winner of every round.
The level of the entries for this round is very high. What makes it even harder, is the fact that the level is almost even.

By the way, would you like to have three first places (instead of two) on this round as well?
It seems to me like the best option, since we have so many good factions.

@Bixie: I will keep the great things that I have to say about your faction to the summarizing post, but I have a few comments:
1. I'm totally against your 5th level creature, Kabuta/Pyromancer. In my opinion, gunpower should stay out of HOMM. I recommend you to swich it.
2. Please add creatures' statuses (attack, defence, damage, speed, etc).
3. Please add the spells of every caster.
4. Three shooters and two casters on one faction makes it overpowered. It leaves you with 2 walkers. You can take the Shooter ability from 2nd level creature. You can give one creature Caster and Shooter abilites, instead of giving them to two creatures.

These are my comments. I'll tell you if I have more. All the rest seems excellent to me.

well, if you don't like gunpowder, then your ain't a fan of academy gremlins, then.

these weapons are probably on the same lines.

anyway, you said a far-east faction. japan had discovered fireworks during the crusades and were using them for celebration. when they invaded china, they fought with war rockets as well.

Kabuta were the managers of these rockets, and expert pyrotechnics. i felt that this faction had to much in the way of water, wind and earth, it needed a bit of fire to spice it up and bring balance of the elements back.

this army is ment to have alot of cover fire units, so the others can get across quickly. in truth, one is a caster/flyer hybrid. also, if i split the difference of caster and shooter, it is much easier for this to happen earlier on, as most casters aren't above level 4.

i wanted to make a faction that was acurate to the true events and to the real ancient japanese army, not make it balanced.

First of all, the Gremlins weapon feels more like a slingshot, not like a gun.
The feeling is the most important here. You should keep the medival feeling and atmosphere of the game.
Guns and fireworks feel modern and advanced. People don't relate them to the medival area.
Even very old guns, like this one.


This is a great faction, and I truly want it to succeed. Just make it more suitable to HOMM5.

Good that you asked me.
The 6th level is good, but I have problem with the 7th level creature.
"Oriental Dragon" adds a lot to every far-east faction. Long dragon, almost like a huge snake.

That's excellnt for a fast-east faction. But why did you make it Fireball Dragon? We've already had a Fire Dragon. Why do we need Fireball Dragon?

it does, and it is balanced, and versatile, as soon as i get the stats down.

it ain't a slingshot, its a gun. be it a very basic gun, it still is a gun. it feels like a gun.

rockets were developed before guns, so its pretty old as cannons were developed in the medival times.

it feels like a madman with fireworks

Blender - it's just a sphere, squashed, and then sculpted with the sculpt tool. Not near yours yet - you use 3ds don't you?

THE VALLEY (NINJA TOWN)


FACTS AND TRAITS
Emblem : Graffiti of Chakra
Colour : Dark Purple and Black
Worship : Eight Headed Flame Dragon, whose each name : Saiha, Nadare, Homura, Madoka, Rui, Setsuna, Koku, and Resshin
Country/Kingdom : Hi, Japanese Castle surrounded by forests.
Capitol : Konohagakure, the Leaf Village
Motto : Our Chakra, Our Jutsu, Our Speed, Our Weapon, and Our Life, are all for the mission!


HISTORY

The Origins

The Eight-headed Flame Dragon create ‘Flame Spirits’ that will enter the chosen child about 1 month before they’re born. The chosen child will become the leader in the current generation. But, if more than one child that has Flame Spirit in one generation, there will be horrible disaster. Two children means 1 disaster. 3 children means 2 disasters. Shinobies believe that they can protect themselves from the disasters by killing those surplus children.
Abnormal Death (ex : Killed) of the children released their Flame Spirits with their revenge and became ‘Shukaku’; large evil monstrous creature that had to be sealed in less than 1 hour after the child killed when the Shukaku still in spirit form. If not, the Shukaku would get their real power and uncontrollable. Potential disaster.
Sealed Shukaku locked under the Namari Valley near the Country.

65 YSD: The Death of Ouka – Disintegration
Ouka had been died before the next Flame Child was born. Confusion of who will be the next leader made disintegration between five Province in Hi Country. Those Provinces then declarated themselves as five big new countries.

72 YSD: Great Shinobi War
The War between five big countries: Konoha, Kumo, Kiri, Suna, and Iwa. Many little countries between those five countries were forced to take part. War occurred because in the same day, one ‘Flame Child’  was born in each of the five countries. That means there would be four disasters. But, each of those countries didn’t want to kill their Flame Child.

80-87 YSD: The First and Second Disasters
Great Earthquake that shaking almost every countries. War stopped for about 4 years in order to rebuild each country forces. But, before the countries 50% rebuilt, Samurais under Kouhiko Empire attacked them. In their condition that time, there’s no chance they could resist the Samurais attack. Only about 3 years, Kumo, Iwa, and 13 little countries defeated. Several Kumo and Iwa Anbus had saved their Two Flame Child to Nami and Kusa, two of the little countries that accepted them kindly.

90-98YSD: The Five Enjutsushies
Five Flame Children had skilled to lead their countries to fight against those Samurais. Those children then unified the five countries and little countries. With their Guerellia skill in Forest Terrain, they could defeat Samurais in Kumo and Iwa and then occupied them. Then, just easy to take back the rest little countries. Samurais defeated and went back to their country.
Once again, Five countries, and all little countries, merged into Hi country. The Five Enjutsushies selected one of them, Senkai, as the country leader in Konohagakure, the Capitol.

100 YSD: The Third and Fourth Disasters
Earthquake in 80 YSD opened the seals of the Shukakus and brought chaos to the country. Yamata no Orochi, eight-headed giant serpent, attack the Kumo province. While Kyuubi, Gigantic Demon Fox with nine tails attack Konoha. Countless Shinobies killed and many towns destroyed.
Two Enjutsushies from Suna and Iwa, with their Shinobies, helped the Konoha. While the Kiri Enjutsushi, helped Kumo. Unfortunately, those two Shukakus were too strong. Senkai, decided to use the Forbidden jutsu that sent Kyuubi to the Future. As the consequence, Senkai died. But, there was still the Yamata no Orochi. None of those four Enjutsushies could do the Forbidden jutsu.
Last hope, Kiri and Iwa Enjutsushies, Gein and  Yura, performs secret jutsu by released their ‘Flame Spirits’ and melted with them. The Kiri’s Flame Spirit are Genbu, while the Iwa’s is Phoenix. Those two Flame Spirits, melted with their controller, become real creatures. Not only in spirit form. With it, they could talk with the Giant Serpent as Shukaku too. The Giant Serpent was agree to not disturb the country if the Phoenix and Genbu can defeat the Serpent.
With their power, they can defeat the Serpent. So that the Serpent wouldn't attack the country anymore. After it, Gein and Yura also passed away. Their Spirit and their Flame Spirit always protected the Country from the Serpent.

330 YSD: 1st Eclipse – Kyuubi's Return
Kyuubi, that had been sent to the Future by Senkai, in fact, are sent to 330 YSD. Returned Kyuubi was the same time with the 1st eclipse. Hi country, being leaded by Senkaku, Enjutsushi from Konoha that was the progeny of Senkai, was already told by their ancestors about this creature.
With their preparation and the help of Gein and Yura Spirit that called help from Yamata no Orochi, Kyuubi defeated. Yamata no Orochi, as the same Shukaku, let the Kyuubi to protect the Country together.

512 YSD: Creation of the Beast-men
Beast-men (minotaurs, centaurs, harpies…) are created as servants, playthings, and guards in the cities. Kappa, created to guards the Shinobies city.


The Modern Ages

754 YSD: The Birth of the Nine Flame Children
Since the Kyuubi defeated, many Flame Children were born in one generation. That fact become general and unspecial anymore. None of the people believe that there will be any disasters. They believe whatever disasters that will be happened, they can stop them with the help of many Flame Children that would become Enjutsushies.
That year, nine Flame children were born at the same day and time. Eight of those children has different Kanji letter. In Shinobies language, each of them means : Light, Dark, Order, Chaos, Life, Death, Might, and Nature. While the last child has none. The Shinobies believe that it means 'Void'. But they didn't know what those things exactly means.


Characters
Ouka : Enjutsushi and Country Leader in 65 YSD.
Konoha, Kumo, Kiri, Suna, Iwa : Five big provinces of Hi Country. (Leaf, Cloud, Mist, Sand, Stone)
Nami and Kusa : Two of little countries around five big countries
Senkai, Gein, and Yura : 3 of 5 Enjutsushies from Konoha, Kiri, and Iwa. While the other two are Fuma from Suna and Zaburo from Kumo.
Senkaku : Enjutsushi and Country Leader in 330 YSD, the progeny of Senkai.




RACE DESCRIPTION



The Shinobies. They are unique human that have unique gen contains ‘Chakra’ (see Racial Skill and Abilities). It’s shown by the ‘Graffiti of Chakra’ that is ‘drawn’ on their right backhand as soon as they’re born. Those who have the symbol, they have Chakra. Their appearance doesn’t have any differences compared to human’s. But what they usually wear are very different from what the human’s wear. They usually covers their heads except eyes area and wearing dark colored-clothes with only little or even no armor as they like moving fast offensively.
Shinobies have many unique weapons like Shuriken, Kunai, Kusarigama, etc. Besides, they can do many tricky techniques that are usually known as ‘Jutsu’. Some high-level jutsu spend their Chakra so that they are trained to effectively using the jutsu that will be very helpful in their missions.
The Kage (Dominator) will select one team to do each mission. Low level missions usually contains Several Genins and 1 Jounin. Mid level needs several Genins and Chuunins under 1-2 Jounin’s command. High level missions seldom recruit any Genins cos too dangerous for them. While for highest missions, for example, war, almost all Shinobies recruited with the help of Kappa hordes, Giant Serpents, and even Nine Tails. Shinobi that has been selected to be the Leader of the war are called Sennin.



CREATURES AND THEIR DWELLINGS

Genin Spy and Genin Ambusher (level 1)
Low level shinobis used as spies and ambushers. Armed only with Kunai and wearing no armor.





Ability Description
Chakra : Genin Spies and Ambushers have 10 Chakra.
Spying : Give complete information of enemy or neutral heroes and creatures at radius 10 tiles.
Ambusher : At the beginning of the combat, 2 traps randomly placed on the battlefield outside the wall. Enemy creatures passes it will activate the Trap. When activated, automatically summoned 1 stack of Genin Ambushers on random empty stack. The number of the stack is half of the total Ambushers of the hero’s army at the beginning of combat. Activation of the first trap doesn’t reveal the position of the second trap which has the same effect. The summoned Ambushers disappear after combat


Kusarigama Wielder and Mikazuki Wielder (level 2)
Shinobis wearing light armor and armed with chained weapon. Kusarigama is chained sickle-like weapon. While Mikazuki is chained large boomerang.





Ability Description
Chakra : Kusarigama wielder has 10 chakra., while Mikazuki wielder has 15.
Wall Climbing : When adjacent to enemy walls, they can pass the walls to the stack adjacent to the other of the walls. However, their turns ended.
Kusarigama : Can attack at range when there isn’t enemy stack adjacent it. But the maximum range is only 5 tiles. Damage dealed is equal to normal attack.
Mikazuki : Can attack at range when there isn’t enemy stack adjacent it. But the maximum range is only 5 tiles. Damage dealed is equal to normal attack. All allies and enemies on the way between them and their target are also attacked when the Mikazuki ‘goes’ and once more, when it ‘backs’ like boomerang. The next stack suffers less 5% damage than the previous one.


Kappa Fighter and Kappa Warrior (level 3)
Legendary turtle-like humanoid living in the river. They wait for any creatures cross the river then grab and pull them into the water.





Ability Description
Total Defense : They can change mode to Total Defense mode that increases 50% defense points. In this mode, they cannot attack or move. They can also return to normal mode. After change mode, their turns over.
Enraged : Damage increases when allied creatures killed.
Immune to Cold : Unaffected by water spells.


Chuunin Anbu and Jounin Anbu (level 4)
Skilled Shinobies for high level missions and assasination purposes. Wearing animal mask to hide their identity. Only the Kage who knows their real identity and has priority to order them. Armed with Sword and Shuriken.





Ability Description
Chakra : Chuunin Anbu has 20 chakra, while Jounin Anbu has 30.
Shooter : Can attack at range with range and obstacle penalties.
No Melee Penalty : Does normal damage to adjacent enemies.
Shuriken : Besides normal shots, they have certain number of shuriken to shoot the enemy. Each shoot are 5 shurikens. First shuriken attacks the target. While the second and the next, attack random enemy stacks. Each shuriken does 50% of normal damage, regardless of range and obstacle. Cannot shoot if there is adjacent enemy stack. Chuunin has 15 shurikens, while Jounin has 20.
Teleportation : They can teleport to any unoccupied stack. But, unlike normal teleport, each of this teleport costs 5 chakra.
Unlimited Retaliation : Can retaliate against unlimited attack.


Enjusshi and Enjutsushi (level 5)
Enjusshis are God chosen Shinobies with fire power from sealed ‘Flame Spirit’ inside their body. While Enjutsushis are Enjusshis who had released their ‘Flame Spirits’ and defeat the spirits to prove that they’re strong enough to be their controller.





Ability Description
Chakra : Enjusshi has 35 chakra, while Enjutsushi has 40.
Spellcaster : Can cast spells like the hero.
Spellbook : Enjusshi ‘s spellbook contains Eldricth Arrow and Fireball, while Enjutsushi’s also contains Fire Wall.
Fire Shot : Can attack at range with Fire Shot that do 150% damage to the target without range or obstacle penalties regardless of adjacent enemies presence. Can also shoot the adjacent enemies. Each shoot costs 10 chakra. Creatures with Fire Spell immunity cannot be targeted.
Fire Sword : Normal attack of these units deals additional 10% fire damage to enemy creatures without Fire Spell immunity.
Fire Absorber : Everytime Fire Spell casted, either by opponent hero or creatures, the Enjutsushi gains +2 mana. Fire Spells are Armageddon, Fireball, Firewall, and Eldricth Arrow.


Oni no Orochi and Yamata No Orochi (level 6)
Oni no Orochis are Giant Serpent with poisonous fangs. While the more dangerous Yamata no Orochis are 8 - Headed Giant Serpent.





Ability Description
Large creature : Take place 2x2 hexes on the battlefield.
Wall Destroyer : Can attack castle walls if adjacent it. They must attack the wall twice to destroy it.
Poisonous Attack : Attacked creatures will get poisoned. Do the same effect with Manticore’s Poison.
8-Headed Attack : Can attack 8 adjacent hexes in single attack.
No Enemy Retaliation : Enemy cannot retaliate against their attack.


Kitsune and Kyuubi (level 7)
Gigantic Demon Fox with several tails which is the strongest chakra owner. Kitsune has 3 tails, while Kyuubi has 9.





Ability Description
Chakra : Kitsune has 45 chakra, while Kyuubi has 60.
Large creature : Take place 2x2 hexes on the battlefield.
Healing Aura : Restore full health of all adjacent allies, once per combat. This effect costs 10 chakra.
Chakra Booster : Increases all chakra owner’s chakra by 5.
Earthquake Tails : Can cast Earthquake spell twice per combat. Costs 10 chakra.



RACIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES



Ninjutsu : Unique Sennin's skill that Increases speed and initiative of all units (including units from other towns), increases ‘chakra’ of all ‘chakra owners’, gives new ‘jutsu’ (fist/technique) that can only be performed by selected ‘chakra owners’.
Once per round, the hero can select 1 ‘jutsu’ from his/her spellbook and select 1 ‘chakra owner’ stack that will perform it. The selected stack must have ‘Chakra points’ required for performing the current jutsu. If the hero activates ‘jutsu’, he/she can’t cast spell in the current round.
‘Chakra’ is the power to perform ‘jutsu’. Just like spells that costs spell points, Each jutsu costs a certain number of ‘chakra points'.
'Chakra owners' are units which have 'Chakra' word written in their special ability. 'Chakra owners' have Chakra points that allow them to perform 'jutsu'. The selected 'Chakra owner' stack must have Chakra points required to perform the current 'jutsu'.

There are four 'jutsu' scrolls that can be added to the hero’s spellbook. Those ‘jutsu’ cannot be transferred to any other spellbook. They are :

1. First Level Scroll : ‘Kagemai no Jutsu’  (shadow dance fist)  
Allows ‘chakra owners’ to attack the target with shadow strike. The chakra owner moves ‘directly’ to the target and passes all units and obstacles just like flying units then attack the target with 125% of normal damage. Besides, all creature (friend or foe) stacks on the way between the attacker and the target are also attacked without retaliation. In this situation, every stack decreases 20% of normal damage. So if there are 3 stack between the attacker and the target, first stack receives 125% damage, second stack 105% damage, third stack 85% damage, and the target only 65% damage. Maximum range to the target is 6 tiles. Cannot pass castle walls. (Cost : 10 Chakra)
2. Second Level Scroll : ‘Kekkai no Jutsu’  (shield fist)
Allows ‘chakra owners’ to protect themselves and all adjacent stack (allies and enemies) with chakra shield that negates any attacks or spells from outside. But they cannot move outside or attack outside stacks. The Kekkai normally disappears after twice negation. Besides, it can also automatically disappear if the shield creator moves or attacked from the inside. The Kekkai cannot be entered from the outside. (Cost : 20 Chakra)
3. Third Level Scroll : ‘Kage Bunshin no Jutsu’  (shadow clone fist)
Allows ‘chakra owners’ to summon 1 stack of their clone with equal power. Unlike ‘Phantom Forces’, the clone cannot be mistaken from the real one by the opponent. It is possible if the new stack is the real one. The Clone cannot perform any jutsu or cast any spells. Can only attack once and then disappear. If the real is attacked, the clone(s) also disappear. If the clone attacked, the real one automatically teleported to random stack adjacent to selected enemy stack and attack it without enemy retaliation before the clone(s) disappear. If all adjacent stack blocked, 1 new clone is automatically summoned. (Cost : 30 Chakra)
4. Fourth Level Scroll : ‘Kuchiyose no Jutsu’  (summoning fist)
Allows ‘chakra owners’ to summon 1 stack of ‘Oni no Orochi’ (Giant Serpent) to the battlefield. Number of the serpents summoned depends on the summoner’s health. ‘Oni no Orochi’ has 100 health. So, a summoner stack with 120 health can only summon 1 serpent, 225 health 2 serpents, 395 health 3 serpents, 87 health cannot summon. (Cost : 40 Chakra)


Ninjutsu Skill
Basic : Unique Sennin’s skill that gives him/her the ‘First Scroll’.
Advanced : Unique Sennin’s skill that gives him/her the ‘Second Scroll’.
All units in hero’s army get +1 initiative.
Expert : Unique Sennin’s skill that gives him/her the ‘Third Scroll’.
All units in hero’s army get +2 initiative and +1 speed.
Ultimate : Unique Sennin’s skill that gives him/her the ‘Fourth Scroll’.
All units in hero’s army get +3 initiative and +2 speed.
All ‘chakra owners’ get +5 chakra.


Associated Abilities
Smoke Bomb : Everytime allied creatures teleported, either by spells, skills, or abilities, a smoke bomb explode on the left stack. Decreases 5% initiative of all creatures (allies or enemies) adjacent the stack.
Trap Zone : At the beginning of combat, 4 traps are automatically placed on 4 random empty stacks that are invisible to the enemy (outside the wall). Every creature that passes (including allies), and every flyer that stops on it, receives 75 damage for each trap. Although one of the traps revealed, the others are still invisible.
Chakra Transfer : Chakra owners can transfer their chakra to another chakra owners only. 5 chakra for each transfer. Cannot transfer if the units that will give their chakra only have less than 5 chakra left.
Poisonous Trap (Ultimate) : Improves Trap Zone damage. From now on, each trap deals 100 damage. Furthermore, creature stack attacked by the trap will suffer -2 initiative and -10% health for each units in the current stack.


New Abilities (See Skills and Abilities Pic)

1.Attack
Taijutsu : Chakra owners can increases their own attack and defense +5. Costs 5 chakra each turn.

2.Dark Magic
Genjutsu : Chakra owers can cast 1 random 1-3 dark magic spell to all adjacent enemies. Costs 10 chakra each cast.

3.Defense
Guard : At the beginning of combat, the hero can select 1 allied stack as guarder and select the one another which has less hit points as guarded stack. The guarder must be adjacent to the guarded stack. Every non-magic attack that is going to attack the guarded creature, will attack the guarder instead. Only if the attacker can reach the guarder.

4.Destructive Magic
Exploding Clone : Everytime before a clone (either phantom forces or shadow clone fist) disappear, the clone will explode and do 50 damage to all creatures adjacent it including allies.

5.Enlightenment
Illegal Advancement : The hero can upgrade Genin Spies, Kusarigama Wielders, Chuunin Anbus, and Enjusshis outside the town for double costs.

6.Leadership
Loyalty : All living units in hero’s army has 25% chance to resist mind spells and 20% chance to release the spell in every next turns.

7.Light Magic
Kai : Chakra owers can dispel 1 random dark magic spell affected adjacent allies. Costs 10 chakra each dispel.

8.Logistics
Ambush : The Hero can sets invisible trap on adventure map at any visitable place or even empty field once per day. Hero must stand on the place that will be set as ambush trap. The hero must select some of his/her Genin Ambusher and may select optional additonal units to be set into the trap. Those units cannot be returned back to the hero’s army. Enemy hero that passes the trap will have to fight against those units. The trap disappear if the enemy wins.

11.Summoning Magic
Double Clone : Each phantom forces casted, or shadow clone fist performed, two clones will be summoned instead of one. If one of them attacked, both disappear.
8 - Headed Serpent : The hero gets the ‘Fourth Scroll’ and from now on, ‘Fourth Scroll’ will summon ‘Yamata no Orochi’ instead of ‘Oni No Orochi’. But the summoner’s health required is now 135 for each serpent.

12.War Machines
Chakra Healing Tent : Everytime First Aid Tent heals chakra owner stack, it also recovers 5 chakra of the stack.



RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER RACES
Humans : Shinobies think they’re better than the humans since they’re selected humans that can do Ninjutsu techniques. Humans often calls them ‘Shadow Thieves’ since Shinobies sometimes suddenly enter their home to steal their weapons and golds or even silently kill their commanders.
Elves : The only race who skilled to fight in the forest as well as the Elves is the Shinobies. Many place to hide gives the Shinobies more chances to do sudden strikes or tricky techniques with their clones and high-speed.
Dark Elves : Shinobies less skilled in magic and more interested to Ninjutsu. Dark Elves who knows everything about spells element and how to manipulate their effect makes them the strongest enemy to Shinobies.
Demons : For the Shinobies, Demons are Evil Spirits and Chaos Spreaders that have to be sealed.
Wizards : Wizard’s artifact are one step better than Shinobi’s weapon (Kunai, Shuriken, Smoke Bomb, etc). However, Shinobies are much more skilled in using any weapons.
Dwarves : Shinobies almost never want to cooperate with Dwarves as they’re very different. Dwarves are slow and have high defense, while Shinobies are fast and have low defense. Shinobies missions need fast moves, fast reactions, fast thinking, fast attack, and many fast things.
Undeads : Sometimes Shinobies fear of what they believe about ‘the revenge of the killed’. Many assassination missions kill many targets without knowing any reasons why they should be killed. Necromancers make their fears become true by raise those dead bodies.
Orcs : Shinobies think they can easily defeat those Orcs hordes. Shinobies are very good in combat strategy and combination strikes. They always think Orcs have only little combat strategy since the Orcs usually prefer to use their brutality and power rather than their brain.
