Indeed Forgotten Kingdoms is nice too. Be sure to be the first in center and you'll be alright Gotta be a bit lucky with the guards but that's usually the case.
I tested the beta Hourglass a bit and so far so good! A few minor bugs but Elit and Jorko are doing a great job in adjusting the map. I'll gladly test it some more!

Changes:
1. Second way for meet.
2. Dragon utopias in midle after breack.
3. Added new bildings: (Arcane Library,Fortuitous Sanctuary,Library of Enlightenment,Magma Shrine,Oasis,Memory Mentor,Sacrificial Altar,School of Magic,War Academy,Tomb of the Warrior,Blood Temple,Gargoyle Stonevault,Pyramid,Treant Thicket,Wrecked Galleon,Dwarven Warren.).
4. Added all new spels/arts from TOTE. Instant Travel is DISABLED !
5. NEW teleports
6. Changed red and blue keymasters function. Now they are need for acces to new Artifact merchants in midle underground.
7. NEW green Keymaster for "slow" connect both players if they cant kill main guard.
8. One extra dweling lvl 3 for orc. Map have so strong guards and he cant use spels...so hope this will help him enough.
9. Other minor changes...

I just lost the game on HorgulasTOTE against Fraudatio, But I like the map. I m looking forward to have great fun games there.

Like Val I had my more or less first proper game there (I had one a year ago or something) and I liked the map aswell. I got a really lucky draw to get Fortress with Ingvar, and things worked out nicely.
I still do not know what is in the "middle", but I guess I will find out some day

I know noone cares what my opinion is...but that doesnt stop me from voicing it
Original Hourglass was very balanced map.. And it was already a rush/race map... but now there is a Utopia in the middle to race to, that can unbalance the ending? I still dont understand some players fascination with campaign single player style games. and what I mean about that is... those players want to beat the map...NOT there opponent. They make the maps so that the person who is the fastest at memorizing a pattern has the greater chance of winning, instead of beating there opponent in the final battle to earn the win.
Thats the way it works in a campaign.. you play the senerio over and over, trying to figure out how to beat it... then once you have perfected your strategy to beat it you win.
So basically when you have a race to the middle riches map as fast as you can , you are really only haveing 2 human players on opposite sides of world each playing a campaign game and who ever plays there side the fastest wins....
I personally think Hourglass would be a perfect map if you took the middle out completely and put 1 garrison that seperates the sides. So when a player breaks he is in other persons area and coming to attack him. Not just racing to middle to gain the unbalancing treasure. Cause it should be the opposite... the player that is rushing to break to opponent should suffer some small losses for the faster break.

You are right Jinxer...who breack 1st have advantage to get utopia...but chek map careful. Here have utopias up and down. So when 1 breack up other can breack down in same time....like my last game vs jorko

Also, when you get to the utopia you may encounter a fairly big stack of guards, which might not be beaten without significant losses. I broke the 1st garrison on week 7 and I found horde of red dragons guarding the utopia, and I couldn't afford to attack them.
By the way, when do you break BOTH of the guards in the map? I think it it would be nice to upload some replays, and if you could post some strats (other than the stalker-break with dungeon), it would be great.
Looking forward for your strategies.

DANGER for everyone ! Hourglass-for TotE
Jinxer is right: if the underground wouldnt have the utopia.
The game become very interesting, cose you can never know what the opponent have in mind, I mean where he will attack first (under or on the ground). Also is very important how fast you can get all places in the opponent field, and get the advantages.
The map is very well balanced I guess, but you never know, and thats the great deal about it...thats all I can say so far...
Rushing the map was, and still is a matter of disputes...

1. ADD Logistics seer hut for 3000 gold.
2. Replace memory mentor with second spell shop.
3. Starting town now start with build lvl 2 creatures+resource silo.
4. Increase numbers guard on utopia in midle.
5. Replace external market with astrologer tower.
6. Add 2 ore/wood pile to second mines.
7. Add 1 more ships in both parts from sea.
8. Add Sphinx...random question and rewards.
9. Remove bags of gold from guards.
10.Replace: "faerien ring" to "tattereg flag" 1st position to can be get second town more easy on day 2.

Yes...now ultimate will be alot more rare. No more abuse warpath and change it for ultimat how did sylvan or swift mind how did dungeon.
