I took offence also.
I may not be wicca, but i do believe that what was said was uncalled for and has no place on this board. Personal opinions that may offend others should not be tolerated. Everyone has a right to their own opinion.
Some will and have taken offence to what you have said RMS, whether you can understand why or not, it has happened.
So why doesnt everyone get over it and get back to flowers?

...alright, let's take it easy here...it's all a matter of opinion...you can call anything what you want, and it'll still be the same thing...a cult is not necessarily evil, and neither is religion...those that set examples for them, whether they are true believers or not. they are the ones who create evil...I said that there is no such thing as magic, and to wholeheartedly believe in such a thing as "magic" is foolishery...I admit it. That is the only insult I have given, thus far. If you want to nail me for that, then fine; so be it. I believe there is a possibility of the existence of the "supernatural" under normal circumstances, but not magic, for good or ill. I still stand firm, that I have no specifically said that any particular sect, faction, or group is evil. They can be whatever they are, and I may think them to be evil, but I have not said that. I just don't agree with their beliefs. I apologize, if I offend anyone by calling the so-called religion, a cult. That was not my intention. I am trying to make a point of what I think, without directly inflicting injury on others. I apologize for all misconceptions, and ill feelings that I have stirred up.
I personally do not see myself in the wrong, but all of you believe so, that I must be then. However, if all of you hate me so much, just say so. If that is what you wish, then I shall take my leave.

I don't think anyone wants you to leave RMS, we are just trying to explain things to you so you understand. You can't say that you have offered no insults other then saying magic is foolish, you have repeatedly called Wiccans evil and said that they practiced dark magic and were part of a cult. You have called them a "so-called religion" when in fact they are defined as a religion and officialy recognized in America and I believe in at least a good portion of Europe and perhaps other places as well. And you've made reference to burning them at the stake and shooting them out into space, implying you think they should all be killed.
I'm trying to avoid turning this into a religious discusion, so I'm not going to argue against any of your beliefs (as much as I and many here disagree with them). But you have to understand how some remarks will be offensive to people if you want to be a good moderator.

...look, I haven't been trying to carry on this discussion, and until you can piece it all together, and show me proof, that it is exactly what I said, I will not relent...until you can prove your point, I shall hold my opinion...I don't see how you can very well tell me what my thoughts are, and what my intentions were, if I cannot even see how you got what you did from what I have said, after reading it repeatedly...

You want me to prove what you said? You can just go back and read it in your previous posts. Do I really need to cut and paste and quote you on all the parts where you insult Wiccans? I mean I will do it if you want, but I'd like to think I don't have to remind you about things you said just a few posts ago.
And remember you may not be trying to carry on this discussion, but you were the one who started it by insulting other religions. And you continue it by refusing to just apologize and take responsibility for it.

Well hopefuly you've learned something from this. You seem like a good person overall, you just need to learn to take responsibility for your actions. Anyone can lose their cool and accidently insult a whole bunch of people. But a mature person takes responsibility for it and apologizes, and doesn't deny it over and over while continuing to insult everyone.
Anyway your still quite young, so you have time to learn.

You have just ran over a limping cow, grazing on the side of the road, and then while it tries to get up and walk away, undisturbed, you go over and beat it to death. Does it sound reasonable for you expect it to come back alive, get up and bow to you, apologize for getting into your way, and beg for forgiveness? Nothing doing. You may enjoy it, but no everyone takes kindly to being called an ignoramus, and treated like baby, just taking it’s first steps out into the world. The way I see it, you’re like the toddler who has just learned how to speak, and knocks over the vase, and blames the other toddler of his own age, who hasn’t yet figured out how to develop sentences, for the unfortunate “accident”. How do you think someone in that position would feel?

That's pretty arrogant on your part, who are you to try and teach manners to young RMS here. The fact is, you can put a pig in a dress but it is still a pig. If you want to defend wiccan beliefs as a neutral you must also accept RMS's beliefs. Otherwise you are just dismissing his beliefs in favor of the witch religion. By definition witches are evil, period. They can wrap their beliefs in any kind of newage pagen crap, but the fact is witches are the brides of satan. They can say that they are just in tune with nature, but they call on dark powers to cast spells etc. They play the part of witches, some are serious some are playing around but to claim that we must respect everyone's beliefs as valid, just makes any belief meaningless.

i, for one, am curious as to why your only post is bashing another religion... the only reason wiccans are thought of as evil is because of christianity which,(no offence) twisted wiccanism into devil worshipping... the "devil" happens to be a bizarre carachature of the horned god... same with the pentagram...

I am not primarily bashing another religion, the point is that someone is trying to school RMS on proper manners which is unwarranted. If you claim that witches are misunderstood, but a belief that RMS has is that they are evil, then you bash RMS's beliefs when you call him stupid and misinformed and you are in fact bashing the christian religion. Wiccan and christianity are not compatible belief systems. If you have any integrity at all you choose one or the other, not this mamby pamby respect everyone's beliefs equally because in actuallity you don't respect either belief at all.

It seems to me that there is room for the Wicca religeon as well as.... whatever RMS has chosen to believe in. Both Wicca and Christians consider the other to be fools but really.... if either is right then it does'nt matter right?
I personally know some women in the craft and they are some of the sweetest most knowledgeable people I have ever met. They believe they are "White Witches", healers, helpers nature lovers. All that I know seem more "Do unto others" than many Christians that I have met.
I also know some wonderful Christians with, and from good families just trying to make it through another day without doing harm to others.
I dont believe Wicca is any more "Evil" than Christianity.
I'm sure both have their share of ratz.
Anyway, plenty of room for both folks!! And this is no place to tell someone that their beliefs are evil. We can all cite lots of Christian atrocities and Pagan massacres
but lets not.
RMS.... just tell us when we are acting evil on the board...
without regard to race, creed, color or sexual preference.

All we are all saying is that insulting somebody else based on their religion is wrong. Even you should be able to acknowledge that suddenly breaking into a discussion giving unfounded insults towards a person based on their religion is rude. I have complete respect for any opinions anybody may have, but that does not give them the right to randomly bash religions. I would react the same way if somebody stated making racial slurs, or anti-semite statements, or anything like that. It's all the same thing.
And you may notice that I never attacked the beliefs RMS had, I merely told him that he should not insult posters. So your acusations that I did not tolerate his beliefs are completely unfounded. Are you trying to say it would be ok to start making racial slurs and insulting people's religions on this board?

One of the reasons why I'm NOT religious
Is because I love flowers so much!
RMS, can you please tell me what a blue rose symbolizes? And I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned tulips yet. I find them really pretty to look at, it's just a pity that they have no real romantic symbology behind them (I think!)
And the cutest sweetest little flower of all time?
