Poll Question:
Would you like to see...?

A animated movie about Heroes of Might and magic?

With such movies as Beowulf, and The Golden Compass out, I think that this movie could be made.  Heck, when I first witnessed the trailer for the Golden Compass I thought it WAS about HoMM (the bear could have easily been the white bear rider's bear).  Anyhow.  Do you think the movie should be made?  The Dark Messiah : The Movie.  Or should it wait till the games have done all the need to do, or not at all?

Responses:
YES!!! They should make the movie NOW
Yes. They should make the movie later
Yes. But they won't make it
No. It is a stupid idea
No.
Heck NO.

I wouldn't like it.

It may be hard to make homm5 into a full on movie, maybe with CGI it might be better, but it would be awesome if it was real life, but incorporated CGI for things like the Dragons and such.

Anyway, that is my opinion.

Not very good with such things.  Mostly a concept person hehe.  Even that is somewhat helped along by your idea for H3 for DS.  Was watching some trailers, and when I first saw The Golden Compass I was like "YES!  They have a heroes...oh wait, it's something called the Golden Compass.." CGI is getting really popular.  I think UBI should do it before WOW gets the bright idea to.  I would really hate to see WoW make tons of money and then Heroes not because 'it's been done'.

@William, yes that was another thought I had.  Deffinately a possibility.

They're already making a Warcraft movie (not sure if it's animated, but probably is).

Heroes would be great as a book. However I think they're a bit too complex for a movie.

But if they made it, personally I'd prefer a Shadow of Death movie, or the Armageddon's Blade. Heroes 5 has a great storyline, but I have to see Gelu, Craig Hack and the others on the big screen...
(Jason Statham as Craig Hack ftw)

Just a little note..I would like to see A Homm movie (preferably the Dark Messiah), but any Homm movie would be ok with me.

As for length, they could do the LoTR trilogy bit.  Make many 2 hr + movies.

I voted "heck no", just about every game-movie I've heard about, or seen, has been badly made. Movies born out of games does'nt need to be that good. Because the fans, or at least some of them, will go see the movie anyway. Heroes is'nt exactly the best material for a movie either, to many characters, complicated story and so on. The games are great but a movie? No thanks

If they make a H5 movie, Alan Rickman must play Markal. That's a MUST.
Natalie Portman could play Isabel...

Christian Bale or Heath Ledger for Agrael/Raelag.

And of course Gary Oldman as Arantir.

Well, why not It would be interested to see the creatures, heroes and towns but there is not enough story to tell in HoMM. Think about H5 storyline, it's fine as an game but if it would be movie it would be disaster.

Game to movie flicks are often pretty simple. These movies hardly tells the story what the game has, rather using only the "cool stuff" from the game. Mortal Kombat is alright game-to-movie flick and that works because there aren't really deep story line in the game and fighting is the "only" idea of the movie/game. In Heroes movie that would basically be that heroes would fighting each others and Raelag vs Sovereign standing in the middle of the battlefield in the end.

I remember one disaster game-to-movie and that is Dungeons & Dragons. You could think it had good fantasy story elements but they totally blew it up. It only had 35 million budget but that doesn't explain why there wasn't any story in the movie. Well, not all game translations are bad. Sometimes they work on entertain level rather well. One example is Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. As an movie it worked fine for me but it has very little to do whit the amazing game, the charters are the same but the story is just a wild ride like you where watching a Michael Bay movie. Sure i understand some fans (friends also) who didn't like this movie so much because it was so much "far off". I was just thinking if Heroes game would come a movie, should it use the world created by 3do using all the classic elements All classic fantasy creatures, Heroes such as Crag Hack and Sandro, World of Elrath, Artifacts/Resources/Towns and Huge battles and sieges OR focusing more to Heroes as fighters (leading/on screen charters). I can personally picture Warlocks fighting hordes of monsters and casting Implosion and Meteor Showers on-screen. What would make it a interesting movie is the question. Yeah, Peter Jackson should direct the movie

Hehe, it was fun to think "how it should be alike" but it's hardly unlikely to ever become a film. Actually not so hard to accomplish, just make a perfect script for the movie and send it to FOX. They deny your existence and shamelessly copies your story and make it a movie What. Did i say that out loud?

Dont think it would be good as the plotline might work but i dont think it would be awefully interesting considering how transistory it was at times.
. I still think it would be a rather good plot for a movie if changed enough.
But i still dont support it. It would divert funds from making heroes 6.

I'd like a story set in the world of Heroes V.

It opens with introducing the Elves' and Humans' alliance teetering on a swordblade, close to war over border disputes and religeon.  They are united by their attacks on the Necromancers.  However, at one point an Elf, a Human, and a Necromancer all overhear a conspiracy to use the blood of the fallen humans and elves to summon demons, including Kha-Beleth.  They both rush in (from oposite doors: The Elf and Human in one, the Necromancer in the other) and there is an epic fight to destroy the conspirators.  The Henchman is slain but the main guy escapes.  The three remaining realize they must work together to stop the war before demons are unleashed. However, they are stuck where they are, and must travel through the Tunnels of the Dark Elves to get to the surface.  They must learn to trust eachother and to get over eachother's views on religon, magic, and life in general.  Suprisingly the Elf (Findan) and the Necromancer (Arantir) bond over imortality (which they both have) and the Human (Freyda) feels left out.

On the surface, Godric get the wrong end of the stick and thinks Freyda has been kidnapped by the Elves.  This leads to a series of battles between Elves, Humans, and Necromancers.  A few Dwarves and Orcs also get involved, and a group of Wizards shows up.  They are the ones plotting to unleash the demons.  With their city drawing nearer and the blood continuing to drench the land, time is running out.

In the Caverns below, Findan, Freyda and Arantir get involved in a battle between two clans of Dark Elves (Soulscar and Shadowbrand)  Findan gives up his immortality to save Freyda's life after she is stabbed. She is healed and becomes immortal.  Soulscar wins anyway.

They finnally get to the surface as the ritual is begining.  The surfaces where blood is are cracking.  The Soulscar Dark Elves come flooding onto the surface and join in the carnage.  Using Findan's knoweldge and Freyda and Arantir's immortal souls, they siphon the blood off the battlefield and onto the Academy. It cracks and breaks apart.  Freyda dies, but Arantir brings her back.  When asked later, Freyda says that "There's no point living forever if dying does more good for the world.  How we die matters so much more than how we live."

Actors:
Freyda - Sarah Michelle Gellar
Arantir - Hugh Jackman
Findan - Orlando Bloom
Godric - Tony Amendola
Wulfstan - Armand Assante
Ylaya - Isabella Rossellini

I think orlando bloom would cost about 6 times what heroes 5 made for a gift to make him listen 3 seconds to a computer game company telling him they want him to work on this movie.
