For knights you can also use the ToE Ornella model <3

For rangers and dwarves it's a bit harder as they aren't any female version of those in game, but I thought there was a mod for sylvan heroes lately. It used the matriarch, dryad and hunter models for the females.

In this spirit, it would be nice to gather the most unique models available for all standard heroes (unique when there is one, and female/male when not). I know some new work has been done on this subject, on russian forums in particular, where I saw Ylthin (Unicorn specialist) riding a Unicorn, and Irina riding a Griffin.

There were packs already, made by Shadow and Daion-Fang, but these were pre-HoF:

I really miss those h5 heroes....   and as you can se sfidanza my female carry the same oragne/yellow flag...  (I don't know how to change them..., the only thing I know is that there is several files who got something to do with the flag...) maybe someone know how..?

I agree with sfidanza. I got the females for Inferno,Dungeon,Haven, and now Stronghold. We should be able to make mods for the four other races.

i see sfidanza gave a cool link. maybe ,you should contact that guy and you 2 could work together on making separate models for every single hero. and as for Fortress females, i think you could take some parts of creatures or heroes and make a Fortress female model.

I would certainly be interested in helping to make a special pack with custom appearances for each hero.  Just out of interest, here's a sample of what I can do - it's Razzak, we'll be using him in ToK.

i am new to this forum,but posted several mods on chinese forums including the one functioning as you mentioned. The purpose of that mod is to match the icon of heroes (including compaign heroes) to their unique visual models (99 heroes done). I personally knew little about modeling and photoshop editing, but i did commit lot of efforts in selectively arranging the mods from different sources such as the work done by Shadow, Daion-Fang and psatkha in Elrath and many work done by Chinese modders. I tried to fit them with toet and corrected many errors. I named that mod "a plan for filling gaps"..

You can view 99 pictures of all new modded heroes in the thread.

And the following is the two places for downloading the mods. To enable the mods to work, you need to put two mods (.h5u) into the usermods directory. One mod can allow all compaign heroes playable in the toet. And the other can function to change the visual appearances.

First, thanks for posting here. This is indeed a good start from the Shadow and Daion-Fang models.

There are a few things I'd like to comment on, though:
- the campaign heroes already have unique models - why put them in the pack? (special heroes like Tieru and Ranleth aside)

- after a quick look at the files inside, the unlock_campaign_heroes mod you link to is obviously using the one I released here:

On top of it, you added the 11 AdvMapHeroShared files I decided not to include, so maybe I should comment on why I did not include them myself. Basically, I think they bring nothing new (spec, skill, visuals are all duplicates), and only add clutter when choosing a hero:
* Temkhan: was never meant to be played, he is really out of place
* Eruina_A1: same as Eruina (but starts with Lightning Bolt)
* Ohtar: similar to Vayshan with incorrect file (Offence as spec, spec minotaurs with Black Hand's icon)
* Segref: same as Yrbeth with Sinitar's face
* Biara_Saint_Isabel: same as Isabel with 4 Knowledge (instead of 1)
* GhostFSLord: same as Godric with a different model and icon
* Giar: same as Klaus, with Douglas's face
* Glen: same as Vittorio, with Klaus's face
* Erasial: similar to Grok with incorrect file
* Gamor: same as Grok, with Alastor's face
* Guarg: Alastor's spec, Marbas's face, but unique skills
I can understand why someone would like to play Guarg though, maybe even Temkhan. For the rest, adding a completely new user-made AdvMapHeroShared file would be the same, and may be more creative.
I admit, that's just my opinion. So back to the technical side, why didn't you add those 11 heroes as a separate download? The mod file size would have been 17kb instead of 4.9Mb.
And even if providing the complete pack, which I admit can be easier to release, you could still have quoted the source.

- To work on it (releasing is a different matter), it might be easier to get each hero in a separate mod. This would help suggesting alternate models, and keep track of what is done or not. Here, I'm not at all suggesting that yche2990 should have done that, but merely planning a possible way to go.
If someone feels like dividing the pack into individual heroes, let us know, so that it's not done twice.

Again, I would stick to standard heroes to start with, which means 8 heroes times 8 factions, plus 6 RedHaven: 70 heroes.

thx for your long, insightful reply. today i always try to refresh this forum to see any replies...unfortunately, it seems that the timing zone causes many troubles. The first good news i heard from you is that you can download them through a chinese web harddisk..lol.

i just discovered this forum 3-4 weeks ago, at that time, i did not notice  the unlock_campaign_heroes mod you posted. I am much a new starter for playing hero 5 series...i only tried toet without hof and homm. i received the insight about this mod from one released in a chinese forum. However, in term of its large size, i think that the main reason is not due to the fact that i added more 11 heroes but due to the fact that i added many multiplayer maps which unlock those heroes in multiplayer maps (found under the directory"Maps"). Honestly, i did not even think about these files including their functions because my work relating to this mod only edits the heroes such as Temkhan and this differs from the mod i saw on the chinese forum. I immediately believed that these files may function as an unlock in multiplayer maps without much testing and thinking...you may be quite right that i should delete the folder "Maps" if it does not serve any functions in relation to multiplayer maps.

secondly, you said that the campaign heroes already have unique models - why put them in the pack...this is indeed helping me only to remember how many heroes i have added a unique visual model to them and by comparing with the original unlock mod, i can easily see whosever need to fill gaps...my memory is poor lol...i just thought their sizes are not large because i never included the real material sources about their models inside my mod. they are indeed removable.

about those 11 heroes which are indeed 'wastes', i absolutely agree with you that very few people will consider to use them. In addition, those people do not conflict in any ways with my remaining plan to fill gaps...it's never a problem to stick to 70 heroes you mentioned. i would like to help indeed in their development.

your final suggestion is amazing...no people suggested to me before, now i am so regreful why i have not seperately put each hero's sources in a seperate file... when i was making this 50m mod, i did sperately identified each hero's sources then compressed into the mod...now it seems quite repetitive to revert back...i really should do that...i will try to see if i have time to do later.

finally, i would like to see any progress in this plan and i love to help this plan...it may be a good idea to make a new post listing the available heroes which would have been modded, then it is more encouraging for ps experts to know what is left for future modding.

I fully agree with you sfidanza (in all terms...)
I really want unique heroes... like Irina "rides" on an Griffin...
and so on... and no mix!!!  (from other factions...)
