also, what do you think about the idea that college football athletes should be paid (as suggested recently by a NY Times writer). Colleges make millions of dollars from football. The coaches get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars. The broadcasters make money too. Everybody in college football is making money hand over fist except the athletes. Don't you think that's a bit strange?

Ice hockey, sure you wear protective gear and that but it's still a dangerous sport and most likely to result in severe injury. Furthermore, there's plenty of fights and brawls that can last for minutes.

I couldn't think of any, that's why I asked.
some positions, like quarterback and pitcher, are cerebral, but I can't think of a sport that stands out.

Some would say cricket. Especially test matches... as far as the captain's positioning of players and bowlers used, order of batsmen, when to declare etc etc.
still though... not much brain activity really... hmm
