The Floppy Disk drive might have failed. Not the software, the actual Hardware.

I haven't heard of not being able to open a Floppy Disk drive because it has to do with the computer software and all that. I would place my bet that it is the actual Floppy Drive that is malfunctioning.

Try to find a switch user option.  Or try shutting it down and restarting it.  Might work.  Just because the person who is on it is the admin, doesn't mean they are signed in as themselves.

You might have to give yourself admin permissions via the Registry, or regedt32.

Here is what you do:

1. Log on as the Administrator or a member of the Administrators Group, and rerun the SDK Setup.

2. Use REGEDT32 to give yourself full permissions on the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive by starting REGEDT32.

3. Highlight the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key.

4. Under the Security menu, click Permissions and add the Administrators Group (and the Administrator account, if necessary) with Full control.

5. Select the "Replace permissions on Existing Subkeys" check box.

6. Click OK.

I found this info on the microsoft website. Do you want a link to it?

When all else fails, get revenge by reprogramming it with a large axe. Great stress reliever.
