are u kiddnig me ? if u get natures luck + retribution u will lose for sure  - it means having no enlightenmet or defence /check skill wheel/
+ without enlight u wont be able to ressurect ur unicorns like mad
+ the path to natures luck is good only on fan made maps:
1. they must be grassy as hell and with no water at all ( on an island map u need navigation jist too much)
2.u cant be sure that u will get haste + righteous, picking refined mana over second light mastery is a madness
3.Aiming only for a strong first hit is a mistake - swift mind + stormwind and empathy will make sure that the knight( or every other hero that can get them) will be able to cast mass endurance before your units attack.

imo the best skills vs a knight in full game are - logistics, enlight, defence, light, leadership

u must be mad if u have vittorio as main hero vs adacemy
1. remote control - 33% chance that the balista will turn against him
2. MASS DEFLECT - dunno why it is so underestimated, but mass deflect is the best counter to ballista - 1 mass spell turns 5 lvls in war machines and 2 lvls in attack compleately useless ( not to mention that in this case the knight must pick archery and flaming arrows over power of speed and retribution and choose only one of tactics or battle frazny)
mass deflect is also one of the major reasons why unferno suck - the demons have a good start only with Deleb(war maschines), but picking her vs any light faction that may have deflect in its castle is just lame

It's not all that bad. First, nobody ever picks remote control and with good reason. Secondly deflect while a very real possibility it is not guaranteed nor invulnerable, a simple mass cleansing can take it down. Sure, a pure might build will work better in the long run vs academy but the advantage machines can give you in controlling the map is often overlooked.

As for inferno.. what? I'd jump with joy if the wizard cast mass deflect instead of ANY other mass spell, esp if we are talking dark.

well im probably getting it wrong ,but
1.Demonlord with mass cleancing ? ( its 33% chance even for the "light" factions)
2.i think that ur joy wont last long, have in mind that we are talking about full games, where logistics are important and the 2% chance of the demonlord to get leadership is crucial - lets sum up the skills that the DL will have and then estimate his might
1.Logistics - nothing to do with might
2.Dark magic - again
3.War mashines - again
4.Defence
5.Attack - battle frenzy - good, excrutiating strike - not bad, but weak compared to mass haste, and flaming arrows  - all in all 15 % att dmg increase + 1dmg to all units at the cost of power of speed

+ if the opponent has dark + 5-6 spell power his mass curses will be eternal

So where is the epic might of that build ?

P.S. yes u may skip the flaming arrows and pick different att perks, but u will lose too much of ur ballista's potential

1. Was referring to Vittorio.
2. Machines are not taken for the final battle, they are for creeping. Why invest in flaming when ballista could possibly die in one shot before it even acts? That's hit or miss and I'd rather play with safer chances.

if u get them  for creeping u will have them in the final battle too
and with war mashines but without flaming arrows i just cant see how ur inferno will defeat a strong lategame faction ...
however if u have a replay that proves ur point - share it, it may change my whole adjustment towards such build

Inferno is pretty strong in lategame lol. Attack,Defense,Enlight,Dark and Luck/Leadership would make wonders. Warmachines are most powerful with Lords due to naturally high attack and knowledge but as Elvin mentioned - too fragile to survive one shot of shooters x 6 weeks.
