The one Whirlwind thing ticks me off. It's already not that great of an artillary unit and now I can only use one? Why bother when I can just build a couple of Predators and a Land Raider. Besides, most artillary is crap compared to the Basilisk and its beautiful earthshaker rounds.

Still not sure what to change... I'll just play it on my desktop.
One thing I noticed with Soulstorm is more limits on troops.
Only 1 whirlwind allowed now... only 2 predators etc.
In DOW it was unlimited everything except relic units, and you could even get 4 Land Raiders
In Winter Assault they limited the Land Raiders to 1 and that's about it I think...
In Dark Crusade, the ones I can remember:
-Posessed Marines (used to get 20/20 of these and no base was safe)
-Terminators (could get 20/20 of these as well)
-Predators
-Whirlwinds
Can't remember the other ones
On dark crusade they are still limited.I play DC every day.
Too bad DoW:SS is not somewhere near me,so as to get it is really hard.
About the compatibility modes:Change it to windowns 98 or 2000(95 might also work)
I am pretty sure it could work since it is the same game engine.

The Basilisk is the selling point of IG really, that and the fact that they can get lots of decent units from the word "go".
Whirlwinds are good... they would be better than Skyrays if not for the bombardment upgrade, but then Tau also has the mobile artillery.
At first, when DC came out, I hated the limits so much because every online strategy me and my friend (we had like this 2 man clan thing going) had was shattered
So I barely played it
Now I don't really mind it. It makes it more like it's meant to be played. I mean, a SM army isn't supposed to be entirely composed of preds and termies I mean, you have to have at least SOME normal space marines in there somewhere
I'm not sure why I'd play chaos though, anymore, after the limit of possessed marines...
