The government is giving away free money

no,really

Recently Bush (Republican) and the Congress (Democratic) have agreed on an "economic stimulus plan" whereby they borrow more money (from China and Japan and other trade surplus countries most likely) and then shower it upon American citizens.

This year, because I took a few classes I'll be getting a tax refund from the federal government.  Also, because I'm relatively poor, with the refund I won't be paying any federal taxes at all this year.

But get this, in April the government is going to give me 600 dollars.

When you add it all together, it means that the federal government is giving me free money this year. This is just too wierd to be believed.

Actually, they are just giving you back some of YOUR money.  Cause the only money the government has is the taxpayers money.  It is just an effort to buy some republican votes.  I mean, hey we have a president with possibly the lowest approval rating in recorded history.  He has to do something right?  Don't get me wrong.  I'll take the money, never pass up free money, but it won't change my vote come election time.

It's not my money either, it must be someone else's. Oh, I know, it's our children's and grandchildren's money (paid back with interest). Damn spoiled kids don't need it anyway.

I don't know if I'm getting any yet. Don't know all the rules. I can't help but laugh at this whole thing though.

I get free money every month, because I'm unemployed.

It's very little though, so don't get upset.

Bush is an idiot. Do you realize what's going on?

Let's say there are 3 people. One has $100, one has $20, and one has no money. The one with $20 says, "Hey, let's pool all of our money together and distribute it equally." So they do. The one with no money now has $40. The guy with $20 now has $40. They're happier. But the one with $100 now only has $40.

Tell me, what did the guy with $100 do to deserve to lose $60?

Actually the president is not an idiot and he isn't doing it for votes.  I always love it when people call President Bush an idiot.  Walk a mile in his shoes, make the decisions he has had to make, and then judge the guy.  I always find it funny how people, who just sit idly by and contribute nothing, are so quick to condemn those willing to make difficult decisions.

Secondly, the economic stimulus program isn't a method to get votes.  It's a way to keep the economy from receeding further.  History has shown us that when Americans get money back from the government, we love to dump it back into the economy right away.  If this were really a ploy to get votes, don't you think it would been implemented later in the year, around election time?

Firstly, there's no way Bush can get more votes. He's not running!
Secondly, the stimulus package shows that the government thinks that there's a problem. That this might cause a panic and drastically cut spending is a real possibility.

What is it with you and trying to make the rich people look as if they are "poor" and being "exploited" ? They are the last who deserve any pity.

The rich buissnessmen who spent all his life working and guessing and trying to do what he can so he can be happy when he retires and his children can be happy deserves less pity then the young person that doesnt work properly or didnt really take any risk in his life to try and gain more money?
I dont understand that logic. The only rich people who dont deserve pity are lottery winners.
