[Request] Anyone tried green orcs yet?
While I don't really mind stronghold the way it is I feel that a green skin tone would be more natural to the orcs. Has anyone experimented with them so far?

BIGJOKER sort of did for his Quicksilver2 mod, but he only got the goblins done.

The problem with green orcs is that they aren't exactly the type of Orcs you'd expect. Here is the briefing:
Goblins are not Orcs. They are part of a faction that consists of Orcs. Goblins are correctly colored based on their appearance in other stories.
Centaurs...need I explain
Maulers, okay they can be green
Shamans, yes
Slayers, yes
Wyverns, not Orcs
Cyclops, not Orcs
Though the game has a different definition of Orc, my definition is still based on Tolkien's Orcs.

In "the Hobbit" the goblins are separate race. And actually I think they were brown or black, anyway not green. But imp they will look better green in H5.

who, goblins? i think we should leave it as it is, orcs and goblins are 2 differant things. Nival was just dumb enough to use the name.

I only mentioned orcs though wyverns would obviously look better in a light green tone. Shamans, centaurs, goblins and cyclopses look pretty good as they are but looking at a slayer makes me wish they did not have that sickly half brown half green skin... Warriors look even worse.

Usualy I'd be all for this idea BUT:
The lore of Heroes V makes it highly illogical from a simple artistic perspective.
A simple breeding chart:
Tiger + Lion = Liger (Not making this up, its fact.)
Likewise (as far as Heroes V is concerned, and only Heroes V.)
Demon + Human = Orc (This includes Goblins who are an Imp/Human hybrid and Centaurs who are a Nightmare/Human hybrid.)
(Heroes V)Demon =/= green (I know plenty of Demons from other books/games that are green.)
Human =/= green (Unless exposed to excessive gamma radiation and then become really angry  )
So.... if you add that up:
Orc =/= green
As much as I prefer green orcs, it would make no sense.
If the mod is made I'd still use it though

A mod like this might go pretty well with LotA... and if you take a look at the painting which shows up when you launch the TotE exe (before the title screen, the one with Orcs fighting Renegades), you can clearly see a Goblin with green skin.
I might as well try making this, it's an interesting idea.

they look good. but i don't understand how it fits into Nival's legend that they are part human part orc.
[sort of off topic] the shaman's necklace that covers her titts is separated from the body texture. so if you alpha it, they will be topless! [/sort of off topic]

Biology does not say anywhere that offspring have to share their parents' characteristics. For all you know the demons have a green skin genome that is not commonly expressed I forget the term.
And as I said who cares about the lore, mods are for fun.

You saying all demons have a recessive allele for green skin that acts as a dominant allele towards pink skin?
I can roll with that

Actually that would be interested, I always liked biology. Bad thing is that I never learnt the terms in English so some are harder to explain.
I see the green orc army is amassing, great so far! Especially the slayer, I felt that colour was what was really missing

Here's the mod. There's a few screenshots I haven't bothered with yet, but all the Orc units have been turned green here.
I didn't change the Centaurs, Wyverns or Cyclopes at all - they're not Orcs
To install it just put it in the UserMODs folder inside the TotE directory.
