Yes, ZJ was quite a provocative member. His opinions were unpopular. He did say a few offensive things. But that doesn't mean he should be banned.
Anyone who posts in the Other Side regularly has said offensive things at some point in time.
We shouldn't smother an unpopular opinion in such a way. At any given time, the majority is not necessarily right. We claim to be a place for self-expression (as long as it's within the CoC), but then we ban ZanJerusalem, who expressed unpopular opinions. Now, yes, he did say some offensive things. But so do most people who post in the Other Side, and they're not banned. We should tolerate other people's opinions, not go crying to the mods every time someone says something we don't like. We can disagree without being disagreeable.

ZanJerusalem will be banned because it is the second account of a banned member (fortress_fan). Rules are pretty clear on that point.

And many people have second accounts. I have a second account. Shadowcaster is a second account.

Mvass you fail to realize that ShadowCaster is a second account, but his first was never banned. Your other account is not banned is it?
Fortress_Fan got banned for racism (one of his threads I think) and repeatedly insulting and spamming and all this other stuff. He got banned. He created a second account that is clearly in violation with the rules.
If his first account was not banned then fine, that would be alright. Bu t that clearly isn't the case here.
Zan was a second account and imo should stay banned. He was only here to cause trouble like he has done numerous times with many other accounts already.

Dude racism, justifing murder and saying that people aren't equal are not "unpopular opinions" as you put it they are intolerable crimes atleast for civilized people.
And if what that lunatic not is enough to get you banned that I'm really eager to know what you have to do here in order to get banned.
But I don't see why one would discuss this as the rules seem pretty clear: No second account for banned members. Tadaa there goes your discussion. You may argue what fortress_fan got banned for but if he was worse than ZJ (the were the same ok...)he must have been banned but what do I know I wasn't there.

Pretty much. He has contacted me and he thinks he was treated unfair but let's face it, treating people as he does has consequences. He has openly provoked members on more than a few occasions and that is disrupting for the forum.

Hey MV if you enjoy his company so much and his biblical annoyance, to the point of harassment, then why don't you two start your own site together? If you take it seriously I will donate the first dollar with a smile. I did not even read his racial thread, but I do know that the harassing messages everyday have been no more and for that my hugs go to the mods for doing their job...

Racism isn't a crime. Acting on it is. (Well, hate speech is a crime, but I don't think his words went as far as actual hate speech.) And whether all people are equal or not is a subject for the Other Side, not for this discussion. And different things fall under "murder" for different people.

I'm not a democratic person, thus discussions regarding Code of Conduct management and ZM ban, can be adressed directly to Val if you feel they are unjustified. So far it all was done according to rules and Code of Conduct change is Valeriy's right.
Case closed.
