ICTC3: The Shape Shifters

The Shape Shifters' Race (The Taiga)

Motto: Change yourself, but remain who you are.

Facts and Traits:

Race: The Shape Shifters, The Lycanthropes
Town: Taiga
Associated Colours: Dark Blue, Grey.
Worship: The great Shape Shifter.
Core Philosophy: Accept changes in your life- they are the part of you.
Language: Ror'argha (The Language of The Forest)
Capital: Warar'argha (The Forest in the fog)

Familiar Terrain: Snow

Emblem: Howling wolf

Description:

Shape Shifters are the Taiga keepers. They do not worship Earth and its Dragon- Sylanna. They worship Forest personificated as The Great Shape Shifter. Shape Shifter isn't a Dragon indeed, because he can change his appearance any time, he wants.
Lycanthropes are good friends with Dwarves. They give Dwarves brown and black and white bears, which are brought up in Taiga. And Dwarves send to Shape Shifters some young boys, who, in teh process of trainignare taught to ride the goats, rams and chamoises...
Lycanthropes do not like either Wooden Elves, neither Dark Elves. Wooden Elves compete with them in order to steal their Forests and plant their Huge Tress on the terrain.
And dark Elves are the enemies of The Dwarves. And the enemies of Shape Shifters' friends are their own enemies...
Lycanthropes aren't ruled by anybody. They are free, but not chaotic society with no captivating systems.
Shape Shifters, even though in were form they can speak any humanoidal language fluently, made their own language. This dialect, called Ror'argha, for unskilled listener would seem like a simple combination of barks and roars. But, in fact, it is very complicated and difficult to be learnt, even if you are a dog...

A Summary:

Shape Shifters are inspired by Forest and its changes.
They get on well with Dwarves, so there is no morale penalty when units of both factions are mixed. The Shape Shifters' special ability is the ability to help their units to change into and animal, or innto a were form...

There are some images in your original post that you didn't use.
And I think that this should be moved to the Coliseum.

I think that balance in an ICTC is the least important aspect.
What matters is the idea, the creatures, the history, how well it fits in the Heroes world etc.

For example if one of these were actually going to be incorporated into the game, the balancing and statistics wouldn't even be looked at until afterwards. Balancing issues can be addressed easily, they shouldn't make or break a faction.

I don't even look at the numbers.

Thought I would try to make it a bit more organized, some more BB Code or something.

It depends. If we're speaking of balancing the stats, I completely agree. That is usually a long, detailed work which has nothing to do with the quality of the faction in itself.

However, designing a faction (as cool as it may be) around the idea that it will be totally imba and crush every other isn't going to produce a good work. A faction must have weaknesses and strenghts to be appealing.
