Jigglypuff is my third favorite character...
but the fact that you have to use the punch as a recovery is pretty tricky.

I haven't unlocked Wolf yet. Not that I'm really looking forward to playing another clone of Fox. I would have much rather have had someone who wasn't a clone. Hell, we already have Luigi, Ganondorf, Falco, Toon Link, and Wolf for clones. Why on earth they decided to put Toon Link and Wolf in is way beyond my understanding.
As to my favorite smash, I guess I don't really have one. I absolutely hate it when Olimar gets his final smash due to the unavoidability of the attack. I also hate how the computer will go way, way out of its way to try and unleash the attack on me, especially when two other computer players are right next to him. If I had to pick a favorite one, I'd say Link's. It's just brutal.

I actually find that wolf plays quite diffently from fox and is my favourite our of the playable star fox characters. As for other clone characters...I find that they have been changed so that you cant really consider them clones. Like luigi is completly different from mario, as are the other characters. Ganondorf is totally different than he was in melee, so the only similarity between him and cap falcon are the powerful punch and the latch on attack.
And toon link is by far my favourite character in the game.
As for final smashes, lets see, I like: link/toon link, samus, ike, lucario and r.o.b (lol spaz beam).

I think it's one of the better smashes out there, especially on smaller stages like Hole.

I like the final smash of yoshi just because it looks ridicolous.
practically speaking i think the best is Gigalypuffs, he just grows huge. except on large maps like new pork city if your near him your kinda screwed.

I think Melee was by far the better game. Brawl is really slow paced and has thus lost all of its competitive feel to me. I didn't like the extreme difficulties of the technical aspects that were in Melee, but I liked what they added to the game.
I really feel that rather than removing the annoyances of Melee, they just took out everything ruining it for me. Melee was far from perfect, but its easily the best game in my book. Its the only one that I feel has real substance and is reasonably balanced.
In Melee it was fast paced enough where you could juke your opponent with quick darts and fakeouts. Brawl, you can't change direction at all once you gain your momentum. The speedy characters like Sonic are horribly laggy. The big character that are strong still give no satifaction to me. The movements of most characters look overly gaudy and clunky. The game is all hype and show and no real substance. It's not a game its a gimmick and an attempt to please the most people by slowing the game down.
Zelda: Twilight Princess was a similar sad story. Looked great on the surface, but the depth of game play was a joke. They dumbed the game down and took away all the versatility of Melee. I wanted to see the unnecessary technicalities removed, but they took out everything instead of just some of it. I'm seriously disappointed.
Whatever competitive gaming isn't that great anyway. I only started playing it cause I couldn't play sports anymore.

Eh, I wasn't really expecting SSBB to be super-competitive. After all, it is on the Wii, which is the soccer mom's console of choice. I went in taking Brawl as what it is: a game marketed toward a more casual market. It's still a lot of fun, and I really like the new characters and stages.
Besides, it took them a while to figure out all the tweaks in Melee, so it still could turn out to be a pretty technical game after all is said and done.

Trust me, A game that caters to 500 eltie people and can never have anyone added in because of the difficulty doesnt really work in a marketing sense, But what did you expect anyway? the wii is the kids. Its for fun . Competetiveness goes out the window in games that are for everyone and not just for the core of hard players. You might spend 150 dolalrs on a good game for you. Buy doesnt match to 4 others spending 50 dollars on a game thats good for them.
You cant really blame nintendo. Besides that you can just play with better people and not the AI, Youll always have someone better then you so even if you dont like lightning action youll get used to the intricancies of slow and how it can be challenging as well.
It doesnt btw, Lag if you use a above-average connection. But then thats pretty rare for anyone normal. you kinda give me the impression of someone whos too used to melee to the point that brawl doesnt work for you though, you just have to play brawl longer

Apparently you haven't noticed RSF, but nobody gives a **** about the best players. Look at Halo and Wow, incredibly popular. Why? Huge crowds. Anyone can do the Halo campaigns in really quite epic legendary god mode and laugh at their AI who suck compared to them. When they go online, all the skilled players can beat them and feel good. All games are being dumbed down nowadays. Sells better, looks better, better gratification, but its turning into TV.
Take assassins creed. Great concept art, ect. X is kill. Its effectively TV. They could have made all the moves combos, but that doesn't sell.
I'd have been shocked if they didn't dumb down brawl. BTW Lucas is waaaay too weak, ganon is unbearably slow and lucarias final is too slow to aim.

The trick with lucario is to be on the right maps. Better yet, with a teamate or "enemy tha wants the other guy dead" who can help you keep the enemy to the beam. But thats nto always (or even usually) possible sadly.

I'm not pissed they dumbed down the game. I'm pissed they completely took out the things the technical aspects of Melee brought to smash. I was never a fan of l-cancelling. But I liked what wavedashing added to the game. I liked the dash dancing. Granted dash dancing is still in Brawl, but it is no longer useful. It was nerfed to the point that it is now useless.
The main thing these two technical things that only the "better" players could do was juke and space. The movements of smash is clunky and slow. There's no juking people. There were countless fakeouts you could perform with the many "technical moves" of Melee. I had hoped that Brawl would have found a way to simplify the way to perform these things rather than completely remove them altogether.
Seriously this game was all hype. And the designers made several lucky accidents in Melee to make it such a great game.
