Hydra >_< I forgot
I have doubts that griffins are Greek creatures. Griffins are Egyptian as far as I remember

The Griffins are actually 'native' to Indian culture, but they also appear in Greek Mythology.

Trust me on this.

1. i am surprised about your knowledge in Greek mythology!
2. Griffins ARE Greek mythological creatures
3. you forgot 1

* there is no reason to name all 3 different minotaurs etc! what i mentioned was for some people to separately name Colossus and Titan

so i remained. who is going to mention it ?

Phoenix, golem and griffin are hardly Greek. They may be found in our mythology but not exclusively. I didn't remember the clay men but I'm sure that we were not the first to use the phoenix and probably not the griffin either.

Prometheus created humans. I don't remember very well, but I think me made them from some materials (clay) and then gave them life.

Quote:
Originally, the phoenix was identified by the Egyptians as a stork or heron-like bird called a benu, known from the Book of the Dead and other Egyptian texts as one of the sacred symbols of worship at Heliopolis, closely associated with the rising sun and the Egyptian sun-god Ra.

The Greeks identified it with their own word phoenix φοίνιξ, meaning the color purple-red or crimson (cf. Phoenicia). They and the Romans subsequently pictured the bird more like a peacock or an eagle.

The griffin appeared at least as early as the 5th-4th century BC in Central Asia, probably originating from the Achaemenid Persian Empire. There and then, the griffin was a protector from evil.

As for the manticore:

The manticore myth was of Persian origin, where its name was "man-eater". The English term "manticore" was borrowed from Latin mantichora, itself borrowed from Greek mantikhoras—an erroneous pronunciation of the original Persian name.

Yes and no. He built them, Athena brought them to life. That is only one version however.

Another Zeus built different versions himself. Gold age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, etc. Each had faults and eventually died out but the last, which the Gods just abandoned because they were hopeless . Sorry for offtopic

a simple question for all:

assuming that you are a wizard and have 10 knowledge and enough movement to summon creatures only once, name at least 7 ways in which you can possibly summon more than 100 creatures from your nearest castle!

wow warmonger you are good! but we all knew that already

i was actually thinking of arcane training/erratic mana, but those may only apply to combat spells

i'll have to think of something harder for you!

anyway, here's a round of guess which hero is fighting who:

tis' the season of melting snows
the master of the hunt summons his host
to seek out their mighty quarry

but the beasts have already been aroused
by one of their own
so savage and cunning
who will reverse the roles of the hunter and the hunted...

? vs ? and warmonger is banned from answering this question!

a new question for all: assuming you are in a castle battle and have a blood fury unit, how is it possible for that unit to move more than 100 tiles from the start of one turn to the start of another?

Versus 7 (+7) stacks of nightmares (with fear attack) you can move more than 100 tiles in 1 turn.
