Looks cool. How about some kind of orange (maybe dark) to fit in with some kind of fire like theme (QP's are red, post count is yellow)?

The blue does not match imho. Green ones were way better.

Anyway, I don't expect to have too many of them in the nearest future

Green stars ftw

I'm wondering whether there's much point introducing it now, but I guess there's always H6 to mod (well, we hope). I suppose we wait for Val's opinion.

Val already sent me his option about it this morning. Here is part of his message:

I think the best solution would be keeping a thread in the workshop where you keep points for each modder. (...)

What about having a QP's storge?

Announce that X QP's are given every month, starting from May. By the end of the month, make sure that all the X QP's have been given. It's like Daystar's suggestion, but without categories, what makes more sense. If two excellent creatures are created one after another, why should only one get a QP?
This can promise an advance in the rate of QP's given, and can incourage people to make new mods.

X QPs a month would mean what got a QP would vary - what if one month, loads of mods appeared, and the next month, very few? So I don't think it would work.

Does that mean I could do my "green stars in signature" idea?

It doesn't mean that the moderator can't award the QP's to mods of previous months, if there are extra left...

Crazy idea:

Why not just award QPs to mods which are blatantly obviously deserving of one?  e.g. Magnomagus' Heroes of Axeoth mod must have taken days to finish.  QP.  Bigjocker's QSII was a massively innovative and time-consuming project to make.  QP.  A retexturing?  A stat-tweaking mod?  No QP, it clearly didn't take too much effort.  How hard can it be to just judge?

Hmm, well I'll do thread for modding ranklist. Anyway, now we are discussing inexisting problem imo...

Here is the whole new idea:

Everyone can get modding star (maybe cogged wheel reward) for good mod.

This special modding reward is only for posted mods, you can't get it for tutorial or knowledge (they will still get normal QP's if they are good enough).

What MOD is Green star worthy?

1. Finished mods, with other words - finished version, work in progress will not get a star.
2. You can get a star for the posted mod, only if you are its author.
3. It should work and be not very simple (so if you wish a star for stat changing mod you wouldn't got one)

What you get for a green star?

A lot. Its easy to receive (you just have to post mod good enough for it). One green star is very small reward its equal to 0,1 of the QP so you'll have to receive 10 for 1 red star. Actually you can get even more, every month the modder with most green stars (if he has more then 10, like 10 + 1 they will count like 11, so you are keeping your green star rating when they "transform" to 1 red) will receive the title Modder of the Month. When the next month begin your monthly rating will be back to 0 (but if you have 3 green stars in the first  month and 7 for the second you'll have 10 equal to 1 QP, so your green stars are kind of currency )

Modder of the Month (MoM)?

First this is honour and prestige, also every month your monthly rating well be set to 0 and you'll have to to rise it again if you wish to be Modder of the month again. At the end of the year the best Modder of the month will become Modder of the Year (every month is like a round, we'll have 12 rounds per year you have to win most of them if you wish to become modder of the year).

Golden Hammer! Modding Oscars!

Golden Hammer is the greatest reward in the modding world and maybe it will have its own site and nominations in different categories. More details for them at the end of the year

Sounds very good, except of one point:

This is very little. Only if you make 10 good mods you get a QP?! I'd say 3 or maximum 5, but 10 is just away too much. Again, your modders can turn their head to the Temple and get QP's like hot cakes there.

All right I like this 0,1 QP system although there is one thing that bugs me, in the WoG forum lots of QPs are given to Modders and those who conribute in it, so what makes a H3 MOD different?

Thats why its very complicated, its better if we keep things simple, isn't it? Since normal green star system isn't really possible, something like more "primitive" system (with thread) is too complicated. Anyway huge projects and mods (also quality modders - with many mods) deserve reward(s). The good thing in the complicated system is that every mod, even the small, can get some sort of mini QP. With normal QP's only, the small mods will not be rewarded.

Here we run off the main subject (and also I think that GL just started thread about inexisting problem).

Val is absolutely right, system like this one is - slow, complicated and not so perfect (I still like the idea, maybe one day we'll have it, maybe not but I see - the moment isn't now, we don't even have enough mods per month for contest style rating system, I'll think for the Golden Hammer only in the near future).

Here is my final decision, it wan't change (if the current situation didn't change drastic).

We'll keep all the old requirements for QP-worthy posts from the times of the Modders Workshop creation to now:

1. Useful tutorials and examples (Like here and here)
2. Great threars, with many posters and unique ideas (Like here)
3. Post (or many posts), with a lot of knowledge in different subject (helping the new modders) (Like here)
4. Community threads (Like here)

But I'll add fifth section:

5. Huge (and finished), unique and useful Modding projects.

That is it. We just did this small and easy to settle question too big. The good point of this discussion was that we passed by all possible solutions.

All worthy finished mods and modders will get their rewards tomorrow (just because I don't want to miss someone). Thanks for all opinions. Thread is locked now, if you have more opinions, please send me a HCM.
